GlennWest
When I hooked up my shore power to my inverters, I installed this surge guard. It works just fine. But just this week it has started making a noisy. It comes and goes. It almost sounds like a bus coming and going. It will quit after while. It has done this twice so far. Just this morning went out and found what it was. Have display inside and no faults or anything. Can a relay make this noise. like it internally vibrate for a short time Edited May 3 by GlennWest
oldjohnt
Glenn, electronic devices aren't my cup o tea, but it may help the other electronic types and experienced users here, would you say the buzzing is 60 cycles in frequency ??????? John T
GlennWest
Just do it in the mornings. Have my inverters set to change to shorepower at 51 volts. This happens in the early morning hours. This is when this starts. But not every time. So I thinking when the 3550 starts sending current thru it does this. After an hour or so stops. It loud enough that we hear it inside. GlennWest
Found problem. My mount was a piece of plywood screwed to a piece of thin plywood. It vibrated. Didn't think it would make that much movement to cause that. Removed it and bolted to floor. did place a 2X6 on floor to raise up.

oldjohnt
Thanks for the feedback, the buzzing may have been 60 HZ ??? A changing magnetic field in proximity with metal can cause such,.... John T
GlennWest
Well it is still noisy. Believe it is louder now. I may bypass that unit and use the pedestal one. Fairly sure it is faulty. Researched and none reported doing like mine. This morning when it switched over loud thud and unit shut down. My batteries provided power for us but display dead. About an houre later came back on. Had fault and show hi voltage on L1. But when it came on started that thudding noisy. Do this for about an hour. On and off with noisy. It is loud enough to hear even with tv going. There is a contractor in there that engages if power clean. Think it is not closing good. Edited May 5 by GlennWest
