Domestic 9100 Awning motor problem

Hello fellow Escapees,

I am in need of some assistance. I replaced the fabric on my awning and forgot to pin the spring. After replacing the fabric and rewinding the tension on the spring the awning retracts without any problems. When we extend the awning if you take your finger off of the switch the motor continues to run and will only stop when you hit the switch that retracts the awning. I have been searching for any ideas to fix this problem and would appreciate whatever ideas for a fix that anyone has.

My understanding of these motors is like a slide out. It runs until it hits major resistance then stops. If that's the case, try grabbing the roller on it's way out & try to stop it. If the motor then shuts off you need to wind those springs tighter.

You'd have to see the movie to understand..........

I went on the internet to see if I could find a repair manual for your awning. I didn't find what I was looking for but did find these two documents. I hope that they are of some help.

Dometic/A&E 91 series installation instructions

9100 Series Operating Manual

Dometic Weather Pro Service Manual
