rynosback
Driving the California coast in a convertible is on my wife’s bucket list. There seems to be 1 and 101 as an option. Is there a section of coastal driving that will make this unforgettable? We are in San Diego now and heading up the coast to Washington. So any section would work. Kirk W
With a car, you should be able to travel on CA1 all of the way. I particularly liked the route from San Simion up to Monterey, and from Eureka, CA to Astoria, WA. Really, the only parts of that trip I would avoid with the type of drive you are thinking of would be the parts through the cities like LA and SF. Barbaraok
I agree with Kirk, Ca 1 until it merges into the 101 in Northern California and then the 101 all the way to Astoria is a perfect convertible trip!. The 101 in Washington State isn't that spectacular.
