steelpony5555
That's a mouthful......But is anyone using those flat antennas that claim to just put in your attics or even behind your TV. They claim to have a pretty good range. They now sell them from Walmart to Camping World but I have not seen one work to know if they do what they claim. If they do then it would be super simple since I could just put it in a cabinet behind the TV.
jcussen
Think in a best case scenario, with an un amplified omnidirectional you might get reception 10-20 miles from the transmitting tower. There is a reason most rv's come with amplified directional antennas.
Dutch_12078
Omni-directional antennas are often described by antenna knowledgeable folks as "equally bad in all directions" for good reason.
TXiceman
In thee ham radio community, it is said the an omni-directional antenna performs equally bad in all directions. With any antenna, the more metal you can put higher in the air the better. Ken
scouserl41
We've used one for 4 years because the roof antenna was bad. It's been very good. We paid $19 for it at OSTCO. There is a booster built in powered by a USB port. We finally replaced the roof antenna at great cost and at times the flat antenna picks up stations the roof antenna won't. They say Omnidirectional but occasionally you have to move it to a side window to get a particular station. Sometimes we can't get PBS with the antenna on the dash but can if we stand the antenna up in a side window, most of the time just throwing it on the dash works best! Before we went full time we gave up cable TV and used one of these antennas in the house. We would get different channels in the rig in the drive than we would get in the house using identical antennas!! BnB
