shaman52
CHEYENNE – The rest area at the Summit on Interstate 80 is closed indefinitely because the caretaker abruptly quit. Without anyone to clean the restrooms or take out the garbage, the Wyoming Department of Transportation was forced to close the facility. Truck parking is still allowed at the rest area, however. The caretaker was an independent contractor with the state and is not a state employee. A WYDOT spokesman said the agency is trying to expedite the bidding process to secure a new caretaker. If the process is not expedited, the rest area could be closed until April.
