Nuke-E
Some of you had asked after the cooking seminar at the HDT rally about doing a group buy or coming up with some way to get a deal. I just saw an advertisement for the Anova cooker direct from Anova $50 off--that makes it $129 instead of $179. For anyone curious, I was looking at a very unhealthy sous vide cinnamon roll recipe when I saw the sale: http://recipes.anovaculinary.com/recipe/sous-vide-cinnamon-rolls 45' 2004 Showhauler -- VNL300, ISX, FreedomLine -- RVnerds.com -- where I've started to write about what I'm up to Headlight and Fog Light Upgrades http://deepspacelighting.com

Nuke-E
I'm sure there's at least one morning where there will be a bunch of mason jars sterilized by the previous night's activity! 45' 2004 Showhauler -- VNL300, ISX, FreedomLine -- RVnerds.com -- where I've started to write about what I'm up to Headlight and Fog Light Upgrades http://deepspacelighting.com

I bought the Anova unit when it was on sale in the fall for $40 off the list price. I thought that was a good deal. The winter sale looks like a better deal on this unit being $50 off the list price. Nuke-E
Hi Al, Modernist Cooking Made Easy is one that I like. It has lots of time and temperature charts for different foods. You might also take a look at the Anova website, or ChefSteps if you want an online resource. SKP101479
Beyond the cost and storage space required one should carefully heed cook temps for certain foods as slow and low cook times and temps often do not rise to the USDA safe zones. This method with French roots in the hands of professional chefs is really a super way to prepare food in a vac-bag.
