I am shopping two tech toys this Black Friday. What are you getting or not.

I am shopping a tablet this Black Friday, it's time for my year old TA 200 to sell and get a new toy. I am looking hard at the Surface Pro 3 line thinking that they will be sold new at fire sale prices. Here is the first one that looks good: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Microsoft-Surface-Pro-3-12-Tablet-Intel-Core-i3-4GB-RAM-64GB-Storage-W8-1P/262119427012?rmvSB=true&ul_ref=http%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.com%252Frover%252F1%252F711-53200-19255-0%252F1%253Fff3%253D4%2526pub%253D5575069831%2526toolid%253D10001%2526campid%253D5337590633%2526customid%253D%2526mpre%253Dhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.ebay.com%25252Fitm%25252FMicrosoft-Surface-Pro-3-12-Tablet-Intel-Core-i3-4GB-RAM-64GB-Storage-W8-1P%25252F262119427012%2526srcrot%253D711-53200-19255-0%2526rvr_id%253D925339254232

That is new and the first real deal on them I have seen. I hope it isn't the best deal and Black Friday costs me more.

I am also looking hard at the Surface 3 with the Atom Processor. But the new Surface Pro 4 is very compelling too, despite doubtful discounts this year. I got to play with one at Best Buy and man are they light and large! Long battery run times and all the bells and whistles and I might just have to go with a Pro4.

MY other tech toy we are shopping is a new 4k 65-70" TV. We sold our three year old 60" 1080 Panny Plasma well before Black Friday (BF) and got top dollar. I cannot believe I got 50% of the new price when I bought. We took the 40" 1080 LED out of the 5th wheel and have been watching it. Actually if I got a steal deal on a top rated 55" I'd consider it.

Half the fun is the shopping online leading up to it. Many stores are already selling their BF sales now or in the next week. Walmart is doing a daily discount of 10 items daily starting today here: http://www.bfads.net/Walmarts-Seasons-Best-Online-Specials-10-New-Deals-Every-Day?utm_campaign=website&utm_source=sendgrid.com&utm_medium=email

and here on their page: http://www.walmart.com/Daily-Savings-Center?u1=&oid=223073.1&wmlspartner=jDfRMawUPt8&sourceid=20687537281446336819&affillinktype=10&veh=aff

Anyone else out there shopping this one hard too?

This is fun!

Hey RV, was at Costco yesterday ans saw a Surface Pro 4 bundle for $1149.00. Seems like you mentioned being on the hunt for one of them and that seemed like a pretty good price to me.

Hey RV

I see Walmart is going to have 55 inch Samsung 4K curved smart TV on sale on Black Friday for $988. All Walmart Black Friday sale items will be available online as well in store so no fighting the lines.

Joe,

Thanks! I am looking at Surface Pros4 but morelikely the lowest priced and then only on sale for $100 bucks off. I am good with an i3 and 64/4GB. No Costco's here. Just a couple of Sam's clubs.

I am up for any Microsoft refurbished (1 Year Warranty) Surface Pro 3s with 128GB and 4/8GB RAM that are priced at $499.00 or less. However I have all the Black Friday ads from BF ads and am going over them. I have the Quad HD 27" screen on my desktop and the difference in everything upscaled or 2160 from YouTube is amazing! Even from 2" away, clear! (As long as the source content is 1080 and up)

Dennis, I have their ads too. I bought the 60" we just sold and the Samsung 55" we bought before that online on BF or Cyber Monday. I never set foot in stores on or around BF! Gifts today are gift cards. I'd love to support the local folks and do, when they are competitive. I also have the BX on BAFB local, and Tax free. They price match.

We are looking at 65"and already are seeing some for under $1000.00 I use the AV website http://www.avsforum.com/ in the forums and their reviews for final decisions. Also remember to check the model number as they do have poorer specs "special" models that are not available anytime after. Some are older models or stripped down models.

I'm still looking. :D

But keep posting as the other folks might be looking.

My sister just won a 65 inch Samsung 4k curved TV at her office. I think it is a Model 6700? The picture is amazing. She had a 2 year old Samsung 55 Inch 7100 series smart 3D TV. I thing and this new one blows it away. I like the Samsung smart TV's. We have a 60 inch and a 40 inch series 6350 smart TV's that we have been very happy with. Although of late we cannot live stream our church service from HI because they are flash based and Samsung will not do a firmware update for the built in Linux OS dealing with the adobe flash changes.

Wow!

Lucky lady your Sis. I agree with you on the 4k picture being great. I am interested in the flat screened models.

I think the best in breed today are the OLED screened 4k models.

Yes she had a good year. She won the 65 inch Samsung 4k curved, a 46 inch Vizio, a new iPad air, a couple of really nice lawn chairs and a couple of hundred in cash. That's not counting the 200 k plus a year she makes at her job. When she brought the new 65 inch curved home we were in Omaha. It was like playing musical TV. The 65 inch replaced the 55 inch 3D in the family room. The 55 inch replaced the 40 inch Vizio in the game room. The 40 inch Vizio replaced the daughters bedroom 32 inch. The 32 inch replaced the sons bedroom 27 inch. Then she gave the 27 inch to my brother here in Bella Vista. While I was there I replaced the projector bulb in the game room 40 inch Sony Bravia which is now a spare. I do wish Samsung would do a firmware update on the Linux OS to deal with the flash issue.

Dennis,

Yesterday Sam's club had a one day Black Friday Sale and sold a Vizio 65" 4k TV with all the bells and whistles for $998.99. They sold-out locally but I could have ordered one online for that price. I'm waiting as I do not want a smart TV for the issues you are having as well as others. I prefer to use the external smart devices like my micro desktop, the Voyo with Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4 dual boot, and the Amazon Fire TV, as well as the Roku3. I am hoping for a really great price on the LG high end 4k with no smart features. It is way cheaper to replace a 75 dollar streaming device or Blu-ray with smart Apps built in.MY LG Blu-ray was our primary Netflix streaming device for years. But it did not have Amazon Prime on it so I bought the Roku, then the Amazon Fire for its voice search instead of trying to type with a remote up and down button, and now use the Roku on my quad HD touch screen desktop.

I remember waiting for Samsung for a year for just one Android update then they dropped support for the Tab 10.1 and 7. Same with my Samsung Galaxy phones. No updates for the cheaper ones. It remains cheaper to replace a device rather than the TV if the apps are no longer supported. Just me.

If the Fire dies I can grab the Roku from the office for a temp replacement. TV still works. Same with the micro desktop Windows computer.

I found a 55"4k for $775 a Samsung. another a 60 Sharp 4k for $899 so there are many out there for the Black Friday sales. When I bought my last one I found the ad thanksgiving day and got it online before they sold our.
