SKP101479
When air pressure reaches max there's a 'chuf, chuf' sound from under the truck. This occurs every few minutes often 'chuffing' 3-5 times per occurrence. Must be some high air pressure relief valve? lappir
I had that issue shortly after purchasing my truck. I changed the cartridge filter under the truck but still happened. My mechanic in Fremont, Ia. was able to rebuild the valve that was the problem near the filter. Less than $50, new valve assembly >$100 I think. That was at least 7 years ago. SnaykeByte
Sounds to me like one of the relief valves might be popping off. dennisvr
Sounds to me like one of the relief valves might be popping off. That's what I was thinking also, that's why I was wondering what the pressure was at air governor cut out. porky69
More likely it is the purge valve chattering. New one is around $100 and takes about 15min to change.
