mb36912
We are in Uvalde, TX for another 5 weeks and have an pretty good oil leak on our 2006 Volvo 780 diagnosed as "oil is leaking at engine wire harness pass-thru and also around accessory drive." I found Grande Truck Center in San Antonio but they only had a one star rating. Does anyone have any experience with them or have a service center recommendation within 100 miles of us? If nothing else, I will replan our RV-Dreams rally route to pass near Tyler and use Hall Volvo (and wash the 5'er after the leak is repaired). Hall has given us stellar service in the past. ATCBoomer
Unfortunately you are probably going to have to use the one in San Antonio. There is nothing near Uvalde, I used to live in Del Rio TX and there is no big truck repair there.
mb36912
I was afraid of that as we had found no other options......but thanks for the input. HERO Maker
You're next closest one would be almost 3 hours away in Laredo. Volvo shop there. Which way are you headed? peety3
What engine do you have? If it's a Cummins, I believe there's a Cummins/Onan shop really close to the Cracker Barrel in San Antonio at the Loop 410 & Rittiman Rd exit...Cummins Southern Plains I believe. Note that there are two Cracker Barrels in SA, so you want the one on the east side: take 90 east; it'll join with I-10, you'll go past downtown and you'll even pass Grande Truck Center, then pick up 410 Northbound near Kirby TX. Don't pick up 410 the first time you see it or you'll burn extra miles wiggling your way to the shop. (Disclaimer: I haven't lived in SA for three years, so my info may be a bit rusty.) mb36912
Hero Maker: We will be headed east to the RV-Dreams Rally in Sevierville, TN. I went ahead and scheduled an appt with Hall Volvo in Tyler, TX to make sure we had a slot in the schedule. Peety3: We have a Volvo D12.....but thanks for the info. HERO Maker
Hall is a good shop. Stay south of there on the family farm a couple of months a year. Been there a few times for purchases and a little work.
