Update on Denise. She is back in Canada and staying with a friend. Her cousin winterized her rig and is storing it for her.

 

Hard to believe she has to winterize her rig and we are going to hit 91 here today.

I'm glad to hear Denise is home with company. This flu Dave & I have reminds me of what she had that winter in Q so if she has it again she needs to not be living alone. I could not have kept myself fed. Fortunately Dave has not had it as badly as me ( I have the fatigue and shortness of breath that makes me have to sit and pant after walking the length of the hallway) so he's taking good care of me. And yes, winterizing--we'd need to do that here right now. It's definitely still winter here. Not much snow this winter but plenty of cold.

We moved. About 5 miles. There was a semi in the casino parking lot that ran it's generator all night, like from 10 am yesterday until today at 10:00 am when we left. No one there. Casino didn't care. So here we are in wonderful Harbor Vista County Park, on the water, full hook ups.

 

It's absolutely pouring rain, no surprises. We rented some movies bought a tin of hot chocolate and we will sit.

 

Be here for 3 days.

We took a pink jeep tour out of Sedona today and was it ever fun. Learned a lot about the area and the capabilities of a Jeep Rubicon. It lasted about 2 hours and had quite a few tight, sharp, steep, rocky turns in it. Such a beautiful place to visit, and getting out there in a Jeep with a knowledgeable guide was great. During one particularly steep climb I asked her how long she had been doing this. She replied "since about 8:00 this morning!"....................... I deserved it! The weather was perfect 75 with no wind, so we had a great time. Highly recommend Pink Jeep tours. Then we came back into Cottonwood and stopped at Wild Hog BBQ in the middle of town. Best ribs we've had in a long time, so all and all it was a fine full-timing day. Now for a little nip of cranberry juice before bedtime. Happy travels Steve

Important to those of us that use Chinook Winds Casino, in Lincoln City, Oregon. It's all changed. The sites have been marked (about the size of truck stop spots) and you have to earn your stay. Sign up for their players card and earn 100 points. That gets you 3 nights. Extended stays require more gambling points. Not for us.

 

So pushed on to Tillamook. About 12 miles south there was head-on collision so we had to wait 45 for it to be cleared. Poor people. EMT said multiple injures. So here we are in the parking lot of The Blue Heron Cheese Factory (next to Tillamook Cheese Factory. Pouring rain but that drowns out the cackling guinea fowl.

 

These changes have changed our plans. We will be back in Vancouver on Tuesday, 6 days early.

I don't think I want to drive a pink jeep. What would the boys think? I bought a ladder to hang on the back of the Navion. I don't want people to think I'm a newbe. Don't all RVs need a ladder tied to the other ladder. I spent most of the day making a bracket to hang it with. I was thinking maybe I should just weld it there. I'm not about to climb up on the roof anyway and if I welded it I'd know it wouldn't fall off on these rough roads. But then I thought I might be able to talk one of the cowgirls into climbing up there to wash my solar panels. Besides it's really hard to weld fiberglass to that steel ladder on the Navion.

 

When I started working on the brackets this morning, every tool I needed seemed to be back at the trailer. I'll bet I made 20 trips between the trailer and the shop just bending the steel strap for the bracket into a z shape. Everytime I needed a different tool I'd close the shop door, jump into the golf cart and head for the trailer to find it. I'm getting as crazy as my rambling post.

Well, I love Adobe Deli and especially their Reubens. However, don't particularly like buckboards but we're due for another bumpy ride. I'm beginning to think storms are all we're going to get. Now we're expecting another nasty one. When will they stop? Arizona border?

Oh no! You're going to get it too? I'm really tired of running from storms and worrying about damage. We'll have it in sections going through bits at a time possibly until Friday. No more gulf life for me. Next time I'll leave the driving to the pilots if I want to visit Florida or this area.

No storms here however our weather man thinks it's winter again. It only got up to 60° today and was in the low 30's last night. Last night I run out of LP. I thought I had forgot to open the valve on the last bottle I refilled but after going out wearing my slippers and loosing one in the dark. Ouch that gravel hurts. I found that both tanks were empty. So I plugged the electric cord in and thought I had turned the breaker on. I looked in the window and saw the microwave had power. So, I came in frozen and plugged in my electric heater. Full blast. After about an hour everything went off and the low voltage light on the inverter remote was red as a beet. I went backout to look at the breaker in the electric post and found that I had turned on the 50 amp service instead of the 30 amp service and had run the batteries down using the inverter rather than running the electric heater on shore power. So the storms we get here just mess up you head and scramble your brains. But no wind, rain, lightning or thunder. Come on over and we'll go to the adobe Deli for lunch and make up some juicy stories about the rest of the classless members. That is if you still trust riding with me after last night's ordeal.
