Lavinmh
Glad to seeing you find some upsides to apartment living. Yes, having the washer and drying inside is great! We also love living on the top floor so we have no little feet pattering overhead. And underground parking so we don't have to go out in the weather when leaving here. Our primary physicians have an attached parking garage so we can go there without ever getting wet by rain or snow. Focusing on those positives helps with the mental health. Linda Yes it does. We are trying to stay positive. Quote Linda and Ed Lavinlavinmh@yahoo.com
IYQ
I'm back in Deming again. I sure enjoyed the 2.5 day hiatus. It does one good to change the scenery every once in a while. While I was at Caballo Lake the camp host saw me pulling myself back to my feet after I sat on the floor with my feet on the steps to wind the awning back in. The switch is at floor level. He came over to ask if I was alright. I told him yes and explained what I was doing. He talked until I got tired from standing and invited him in. Two hours later he excused himself saying his wife will be wondering where I am. I'll have to admit it was an enjoyable conversation but it sure made getting dinner late. This morning I took a nice long walk then yakked with the neighbor a few minutes then hit the road for Deming. Ed & Linda, congrats on the new appartment. I hope you enjoy. Wanderin
Anyone else having "link" issues at the forum? I had trouble getting in tonight. It would be amazing to have a full sized washer and dryer and not worry about the space, electrical usage and having quarters! It would be a very different lifestyle for sure. So, we decided a few more days in Pensacola wouldn't hurt before we head west. Now we're thinking maybe Monday (or maybe not) but I do have to agree that a change of scenery is nice. So, we are looking forward to a little time in Mississippi and Louisiana but we can't move too fast or the weather will get us. steved44
Well we explored around Payson yesterday. Went through Strawberry and Pine and on to the Mogollon rim. Those people are pretty isolated but the town of Payson is an active community for sure. A beautiful day in the 70's with no wind so the trip was great. A couple of places we topped out above 8,000 feet and there were still snowbanks, but a lot of melting going on. We had lunch at a really nice Italian restaurant in Payson (great lasagna) and managed to get back to the Jerome Elks just after dark. We were actually full (all 4 spaces) last night, but two of them left this morning so it's quiet again. The weather here couldn't be better, 75 degrees and 45 at night. Lucked out for a change. Had a water leak start in the fresh water pump. It's a surflow 5900 series and was leaking from where the sections come together. I loosened up the screws, decided to not take it all the way apart, tightened everything back up and now no leaks. Must have just loosened up over time. Now to head downtown and check out the food situation. sandsys
I'll take some of that food. We're having trouble keeping ourselves fed while fighting this flu. Lots of chicken soup and Ensure. 18 days now for me and 10 days for Dave. Nope, not just a head/chest cold. We now both have inhalers to help loosen up the chest congestion. Did you know there are now antivirals as well as antibiotics? Antivirals target flu symptoms. Buy stock in Kleenex. palamine
Itinerary change. Our plan was Red Bluff to Sutherlin for one night but Doug did not relish getting up and driving again. So here we are at the casino in Florence. We just set up and went for the buffet as we had not eaten much all day. Delicious and $9.99 each.. Now it's raining and we just saw on the weather than it would be snow at 5,000 feet which we were at several times today, up and down, up and down. We will be here for 4 days and then more into the county park. Striper
Ah the road to Jerome. Many years ago a friend of mine came into Jerome from the other side. He had not bothered to check the restrictions on that road so was doing the "White Knuckle" thing already as he was towing their 5th wheel. Then he had to try to make the hairpin turn there in Jerome. Only took out 3 motorcycles doing that. His Insurance company really liked him. Trust me HE never said a word to anyone, but his BRIDE spilled the beans over a glass, or 3, of some Cranberry Juice. Not much happening up here in the PNW. After almost a week of beautiful weather it is back to Windy and Wet. Oh well it is dry out in the shop, might have to bottle some more Cranberry Juice today. Roger & Lynn
Well,,, do you have returning to that area on your bucket list? Safe travels. Not unless they ban us from AZ! Joe, that's a heckuva story...makes me feel a bit better about those tree branch marks I put on the MH's clearcoat pulling in today. Hoping that some elbow grease with polishing compound will take care of it. I've heard that WD40 might work. Anyone tried that? Roger Quote Roger & Lynn Rempe Class of 2012 & "Class-less"! steved44
Jeri, It's the Metairie Elks, just West of downtown. They had 30A, water and a swimming pool that they opened every day at noon. Just a parking lot, but close enough to the French Quarter to be easy access. They had about 12 spaces, and were a really hospitable bunch. The address is 2215 Cleary Ave. Metairie, 70001. They charged $120 per week. They even set up a food court one weekend around our bus and we had fresh jambalaya and shrimp poor boys right outside our door. Nice!!
