hdrider
It's been in the 70's the last few days here in Hershey PA. But it's suppose to be in the 90's the next couple days with higher humidity. Then drop back into the 70's Friday. Go figure,, we are going to the RV show in the morning and Thursday, the hottest days. But we would rather deal with the heat than the crowds. IYQ
Temperatures here for today are 71 high and 55 low this morning was cloudy but comfortable. This evening it started raining and is predicted to rain for the next few days. But they need the rain bad. The lake is way down. You can't even see it from this campground anymore. You have to go down to the campground at the dam to see the water. I took the the campground host (or should I say hostess), out to dinner tonight just to have something to do. , Quote Lee (IYQ)<p>Moving from Campground to Campground so the Grim Reaper can't find me.http://www.flickr.com/photos/iyq/2013 Chevy 2500 HD Diesel pulling a 2008 Hornet TT with Hensley Arrow Hitch. Wanderin
That's the plan, you guys still going to be around then? Joe Geez! Not sure. IYQ
I didn't do much today except to go out for breakfast and take the Campground Host to the Hospital to get an exray. I was surprised at how soon she got taken care of. It took less that a 1/2 hour to register and get the Xrays taken. The gave her a copy of the xray on a DVD. That's something New to me. Of course I don't go around hospitals unless they carry me in there feet first. The rains never came today but it has been cloudy all day and the temperatures stayed in the high 60's. There are mud puddles everywhere from yesterdays rain. When I tried to drive my truck the front wheel was in a little depression not more than an inch deep. I had to put it in 4 wheels drive to get it moving without messing up the place too bad. I think they need a little more gravel on this site. The back of the site is OK. steved44
We are ok at Horsetooth, plenty wet here though. The worst has been south of us at Boulder. A lot of flash flooding going on there. The big canyon where they experienced the flood a few years ago is to the south of us and we are parked above the reservoir which is really low (at least it was yesterday), so we should be in good shape. Thanks for asking. Steve Mike and Julie are parked right next to us. Last report couple of you were at Horsetooth Res. which is near by. Jeff Northern NM has been under flash flood warnings just about every day all summer long. Yes we have had fairly good rain this summer but the lakes are still way down. And even though they predict rain almost every day. In truth we only get rain about twice a week. It's raining this morning but I would call it more drizzle than rain. I think they give the flood warnings because of the possibility of flash foods in the washes that the west is famous for. Oops, it just stopped raining maybe I can get my morning walk in. Bye. Onthego
Just got a text from our DD in Loveland saying that Estes Park is like an island right now with rain and flooding. Big Thompson Canyon would be scary right now. Later. IYQ
Big Thomson Canyon is always scary. I was there in the 70's right after the big flood that killed so many campers in Big Thompson. There is no escape route there and flash flooding can happen at any time. That place scares me just to recall the sights of destruction I saw on the 70's. There were wrecked campers strewn all over the river bed almost all the way to Loveland. IYQ
It drizzled most of the day. We have mud puddles all over the place. I did manage to get my walk in without getting drowned. Then later this evening I went into town to the health food store to stock up on chia seed and beetroot powder. While I was at it I had diner at K- Bobs and picked up a few groceries at Wally World. Not really a very nice day The high temperature was only 63. sandsys
Took the RV to the laundromat today to give it some exercise and washed my comforter. While out also picked up food from a local restaurant. Two more things checked off the list before departure.
