If you have not traveled by RV in the US before I think that you will find most RV travelers to be easy to meet and make friends with. We can also help you with planning a route if you think that would be helpful. There are a lot of folks from Ontario that winter in the US south so you should be able to locate some, even if not through this site. If there is a local RV club, try contacting them.

If you look at the map online, you can see where each of the campgrounds are. There are now new directors in charge so some things may be different but most of the events and activities will be in the buildings numbered 2, 3, & 4 on that map. As you can easily see, the closest campground for full hookups is Pilot Butte with White Mountain next. Boar's Tusk is about a mile from the activity area and we didn't use it at all the first time so I don't know what the transportation situation will be but for me that would be a choice of last resort. We will not. We missed last year for the first time in 10 years. I was part of security for 7 years and team leader for 5 but age and health issues for Pam have brought all of that to an end. I sold our travel trailer last July as it had been 1 year since it was used. I sold my truck this past fall so we have no means to take part now. I have a difficult time accepting it but we are now past 80 and slowing down. I would probably still be doing it but Pam is not able. We lived in Cheyenne, WY for 18 years and have been to that area many times. EDIT: I might add that there was dry camping for those who wanted that in several areas close in as well. The triangular area just to the east of Pilot Point campground, and the small parking next to the dog park & across from Pilot point were both dry camping areas as was the green area to the east of the horse stalls. Not being on staff anymore, I do not know if the new directors will do that again.

I think that you would be better off in the park that you don't have to leave, but make sure that is true as it may be the reason for requiring a tow vehicle. If all that they require is having a tow vehicle but you don't ever have to move, you could alway just find the cheapest half ton pickup and park it, then keep your Jeep to drive. The second park is going to get to be a real headache to move out and in twice a year and that will also get expensive.

What you are experiencing is a very normal thing with an EDPM roof. As they age they will chalk off the surface and while some of the aftermarket treatments help, nothing will totally prevent it. Assuming that the membrane of your roof is original as it likely is, the 19 years of use is playing a part and it may quite likely be nearing the end of it's life. There are numerous EDPM roof coatings available that can extend the useful life of the membrane. There are also more permanent roof products like RV Armor or Flex-Arnor and several others available. Your rood may have several more years left and there are cleaning products that you can do yourself to help. The first thing to do is to get on your roof and examine it. If it is starting to look like the picture it may be nearly time to replace it.

It might help if you share more specifics of what you want. You mentioned an interest in other states but so far have only listed parks in AZ.

Lambert's Cafe is a US restaurant chain with locations in Foley, Alabama; Sikeston, Missouri; and Ozark, Missouri. It is known for throwing hot rolls to the customers.

It would be possible to modify things in order to replace the present over with a propane toaster oven but that would involve a major modification of both the RV and the oven. There have been no propane toaster ovens designed for RV use to my knowledge and I'd be surprised to see one introduced because the market for it would be so small. If you did find one you could expect the price to be pretty high. The stove top toasters are still available and you must have a really cheap one as we used ours for more than 30 years.

Have you considered getting a lot in one of the Escapee co-op parks? While many of the co-op parks have a wait list, The Ranch at Lakewood NM has 2 lots that are available right now. The last I knew, Lone Star Corral at Hondo TX had a fairly short wait time to get in. If you have not done so, you should check out the Escapee Co-op parks to see what might be of interest to you. It will cost you nothing to get information. I really think that those are probably among the least expensive and most secure long term places that you could choose.

We had a toaster like that back when we were tenting and through all of the various RVs over the years.

While I have never seen one in an RV, Amazon has some propane powered but I suspect that they are all of outdoor use.

Welcome to the forums. We will do our best to help you and let's start by getting you a copy of the Dometic Service Manual which you can download. If I understand the refrigerator is working find but has no indications at all. Is yours the manual or the automatic ignition? The model that you have is not sold in the USA so I doubt that any of us have experience with it but, in looking at the electrical diagrams of the service manual, it appears that plug X15 on the power circuit board supplies the display so that is where i'd start to check. Have you tried the operation in all modes? Starting on page 30 of the service manual there is a series of steps for diagnostics, so I'd try that to see if it will work with your situation.

Are you only interested in the southwest, or perhaps other parts of the country? I did some searching and the article seems to be about the Coyote Ranch Manufactured Home Community in Yuma, AZ. The pictures that I found clearly show manufactured homes and no RVs or park models.

Have you considered a visit to Land Between the Lakes for your trip?

He did post a link but it was removed because it was a bit over the line into politics. The article was about mobile home park lot rental rates. We attempted to find a less political version of the story but could not find one. That article discusses who the residents will vote for in the coming election. I think that he is interested in RV park rates and we all know that those have risen pretty much everywhere, but more in larger population areas and high tourist areas.

So are those facilities sitting empty and unused, or was it needed expansion? Any "non-profit" or not for profit organization still has to take in more than they pay out in salaries and expenses, plus funds to pay for maintenance and upgrades, replacement of equipment and structures, and all of the other things that any for profit business does, with the exception of paying any dividends to investors. Organizations that attempt to operate on a break-even financial status, sooner or later find themselves facing bankruptcy.
