  1. VPN's "Virtual Private Network" I'm not endorsing this particular VPN there are many companies out there but knowing what they are may be beneficial to private computing: https://us.norton.com/internetsecurity-privacy-what-is-a-vpn.html
  2. Though Google is convenient there are other browsers, https://www.searchenginejournal.com/alternative-search-engines/271409/ it can be quite an eyeopener to search your own name, phone number or address online and see what comes up. Also try searching a relative and you will probably see your name come up connected to them. There is a plethora of public records that are collected and sold on the internet. Below are several sites that provide teasers for free, and additional info for a price: Public Records Providers Reviews Intelius Review. PeopleFinders Review. eVerify Review. Check People Review. 3. Once on the internet always on the internet. https://askleo.com/the-internet-is-forever/ Trying to hide things online often only bring it more attention. It’s called the Streisand Effect. Anything you post can be copied, and likely is being copied within moments, by search engines, archives, and other third parties. Sharing information online, even with privacy restrictions, puts you at the mercy of those you share with. Services that back up their data make copies when they do, which includes your data on that service. Once posted, it’s pragmatically impossible to delete all copies of your data. You can’t access the remaining copies, but they could still come back to haunt you. Here is an interesting website called the Wayback Machine https://archive.org/web/ I have searched websites that have been closed for years and the info is still there.
  4. On the news this evening was a report about the increase in Facebook scams since the Pandemic compared with last year: https://www.nbc.com/nightly-news/video/ftc-warns-of-alarming-surge-in-social-media-scams/4252082 The sad thing is that the ads are still on Facebook and Instagram, if they can't verify their advertisers it doesn't give you much confidence in their news-feeds. But all "news" outlets are in business to make money so the consumer has to really do their homework to verify the veracity of the material presented.

  6. I have moderated several Yahoo Groups over the years, I have a mission statement for each one to value and show respect for viewers time and keep the discussions focused on topic. If you go to one of my groups the information will be related to the name of the group so you don't have to wade through recipes to find tire solutions or cute dog videos to find axle modifications. ( I have nothing against recipes, I like to eat, or dogs, I LOVE my dog) I didn't like Facebook int the beginning because of the friend of a friend being able to access my page and the challenges to keep up with its continual changes. I completely understand that Facebook harvests our information and make billions of dollars for it in exchange for our free use of the interface. see business model below In 2019 Yahoo Groups removed all features of their groups (archives, photos, files, events etc) except the mail list. On December 15, 2020 Yahoo Groups are closing completely so I have migrated my groups to Facebook. A lot has changed since I first visited Facebook with their expansion of "Private Groups". I do not post anything to my page just use it as a placeholder to be able to access my groups. The Owner/Admins have a lot of features available to them for a "free" interface vs what Yahoo had. I don't want to be on the bleeding edge of technology but realize if I don't take minimal steps to keep up with the rotating world I will be too far behind when I may really need it and the older I get the harder it is to assimilate new things. My only concern is for young Facebook users, once its on the Internet it never goes away and could affect the rest of their lives. Many employers now do a social media searches of job applicants as documented past behaviors could affect their business's bottom line. Anyone with enough time and energy or motivated by money can find just about anything on anyone.

  10. Do you use Escapees Mail Service Florida address 4602 County Rd 673, Bushnell, FL and vote in Sumter County when you are in the area?
  11. Didn't want to get too far off topic. I agree absentee voting is easy and convenient to register for and participate in but my question is specifically for Escapees that use the Escapees Mail Service Florida address 4602 County Rd 673, Bushnell, FL for domicile, drivers license and voter registration. "My question is a family member has always voted in person but recently retired, sold their house, ordered their RV and is joining the Escapees Club but wondered if there was a way they could vote in person with the Escapees Florida mail service address?" Thank you.
  12. Thank you for the suggestion, I have refereed them to the Florida Division of Elections website above with the caveat that many individuals behind the desk are not acquainted with full time mobile living and are less able to assist than individuals with actual experience having gone through the voting process while living in their RV. Do any Florida Escapees Mail Service customers, not owning a sticks and bricks, just living in a RV year round, vote in person in Florida?
  13. I have always voted absentee even when I was working and greatly appreciate all that the Escapees Club has done for its members to insure the vote for fulltimers and the convenience of requesting an absentee ballot. My question is a family member has always voted in person but recently retired, sold their house, ordered their RV and is joining the Escapees Club but wondered if there was a way they could vote in person with the Escapees Florida mail service address? Or can they only vote absentee in the November election? Florida Election Dates: By law, early voting must be held at least for 8 days. The mandatory early voting periods for 2020 are: General Election: October 24 – 31
  14. We have an insulated roofing material and a N/S orientation so we have shade on the patio deck starting around 9 am till the rest of the day. Is great for summer, though we haven't had much rain this summer we can watch it from our deck. Also built deck even with entry door so no steps to go up and down to go out to the patio. We think it keeps the rig cooler and also protects the RV roof.
  15. Yes, out of the 500+ lots in Juniper Ridge only about 60 are year round and many of those are park employees. The rest come up from the valley, (74 this year from Casa Grande, AZ alone), and several from California and Montana. The high season in Show Low is May through September, though October can be beautiful in the mountains. I did a Google search for "Deeded lots in the Phoenix Valley area of AZ" The east valley ie Apache Junction area is less expensive than Phoenix or Mesa.
  16. I don't know what you are looking for in the way of property but here are two links for deeded RV lots for sale in Juniper Ridge RV Resort in Show Low AZ. https://juniperridgeresort.com/ Water and sewer is already in and depending which lot you select some are just gravel and some have concrete pads. https://www.zillow.com/show-low-az/at-juniper-ridge-rv-resort_att/ https://www.juniperridgerealestate.com/property/
  17. Each individual is different and what works for one may not work for another. Age, health, diversity of portfolio, comfort level of investing, access to information and your financial manager or broker while on the road are a few things that make the decision different for each individual. There have been pandemics in the past (the importance of learning history) and there will be more in the future. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/1918-pandemic-h1n1.html. This is temporary but we have to do our homework to predict who will make it through, who will not and what new pursuits will benefit from the conditions created by the pandemic. ie Video Conferencing ZOOM, Google Meet, SKYPE, Facebook Watch Parties etc. TeleMed is not for everyone but has certainly made our travels easier and our dr appointments safer. It may have a positive affect on health care possibility reducing costs and increasing preventative care??? I am on a 55+ RV Park HOA committee and we had our first ZOOM meeting yesterday. Naysayers that hadn't tried it before were impressed with the quality and sound in our somewhat remote area and saw a lot of potential for our seasonal community to keep working year round. Fortunately we have a plethora of information available via the Internet to compare opinions and find the route that works the best for each individual. We also have to remember that the members of the media are paid by the number of viewers and clicks not necessarily the veracity of their content and sorting through the maze makes us work harder to confirm the facts from reporters opinions and agendas. Further there are different criteria and standards of reporting the pandemic statistics from state to state even city to city further complicating the decision making process. "Should I Sell My Stocks? It's a fair question to ask, but the answer is both simple and complicated. Your stock portfolio might look pretty ugly right now. The coronavirus pandemic has hit the market hard, creating all sorts of uncertainty and causing people to doubt their investment choices." 20. SOURCE: https://kidshealth.org/en/parents/germs.html What Are Germs? The term "germs" refers to the microscopic bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa that can cause disease. Washing hands well and often is the best way to prevent germs from leading to infections and sickness. What Are the Types of Germs? Bacteria Bacteria (bak-TEER-ee-uh) are tiny, single-celled organisms that get nutrients from their environments. In some cases, that environment is your child or some other living being. Some bacteria are good for our bodies — they help keep the digestive system in working order and keep harmful bacteria from moving in. Some bacteria are used to make medicines and vaccines. But bacteria can cause trouble too, as with cavities, urinary tract infections, ear infections, or strep throat. Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections. Viruses Viruses are even smaller than bacteria. They aren't even a full cell. They are simply genetic material (DNA or RNA) packaged inside of a protein coating. They need to use another cell's structures to reproduce. This means they can't survive unless they're living inside something else (such as a person, animal, or plant). Viruses can only live for a very short time outside other living cells. For example, viruses in infected body fluids left on surfaces like a doorknob or toilet seat can live there for a short time. They'll die quickly unless a live host comes along. When they've moved into someone's body, though, viruses spread easily and can make a person sick. Viruses cause minor sicknesses like colds, common illnesses like the flu, and very serious diseases like smallpox or HIV/AIDS. Antibiotics are not effective against viruses. Antiviral medicines have been developed against a small, select group of viruses. Fungi Fungi (FUN-guy) are multicelled, plant-like organisms. A fungus gets nutrition from plants, food, and animals in damp, warm environments. Many fungal infections, such as athlete's foot and yeast infections, are not dangerous in a healthy person. People with weak immune systems (from diseases like HIV or cancer), though, may get more serious fungal infections. Protozoa Protozoa (pro-toe-ZO-uh) are one-celled organisms, like bacteria. But they are bigger than bacteria and contain a nucleus and other cell structures, making them more like plant and animal cells. Protozoa love moisture. So intestinal infections and other diseases they cause, like amebiasis and giardiasis, often spread through contaminated water. Some protozoa are parasites. This means they need to live on or in another organism (like an animal or plant) to survive. For example, the protozoa that causes malaria grows inside red blood cells, eventually destroying them. Some protozoa are encapsulated in cysts, which help them live outside the human body and in harsh environments for long periods of time. 21. Thinking long term with all this antibacterial hand sanitizer vs soap and water are we going to develop stronger bacterias as a result? https://www.cdc.gov/drugresistance/about.html Antibiotic resistance happens when germs like bacteria and fungi develop the ability to defeat the drugs designed to kill them. That means the germs are not killed and continue to grow. https://www.cdc.gov/drugresistance/biggest-threats.html 2019 AR Threats Report CDC’s Antibiotic Resistance Threats in the United States, 2019 (2019 AR Threats Report) includes the latest national death and infection estimates that underscore the continued threat of antibiotic resistance in the U.S. According to the report, more than 2.8 million antibiotic-resistant infections occur in the U.S. each year, and more than 35,000 people die as a result. In addition, 223,900 cases of Clostridioides difficile occurred in 2017 and at least 12,800 people died.
  22. THANK YOU ALL!!! Much appreciated. Will go back to the internet to look for something else.
  23. I am thinking of replacing my RV LR ceiling fan with this: Hover Image to Zoom 23.74 in. Indoor White DC-Motor Drop Ceiling Fan with Remote Control Would appreciate any thoughts or ideas or another product idea. I am not mechanically inclined and would have an electrician install it. Just want to make sure I not missing anything. Thank you.
