  1. I can't print. I can't remember how to post. I see your post and can remember. But very hard to write. Can't get signed in to writing. Moving to great grand niece for her to care for me. Will go to nurse home.

Oh, Lee, so sorry to hear that. I was so hoping you were improving. Have your grand niece keep us informed if it's difficult for you to do so. I wish we had asked for her email before. Don't forget to sneak that cranberry juice in. Cranberries are supposed to be good for you ! It may be just what the doctor ordered. :) In the meantime, you take care of yourself as best you can. Nurses can be just as fun as those cowgirls. If they don't treat you right, you let us know and we'll all come and help you escape.

We all want you know that we hope nothing but the best for you and hope we'll see you back on the road again soon. If you need help, you let us know.

    Terry / Jeri

  2. Not us... we had planned to go west after our Mayo appointments in late July but are now considering an eastward trek... but as you say it is all subject to change

Eastward in the winter? Does that mean another year in Florida 'cuz you certainly aren't going to be much farther north than that?

  3. It's about time I checked in.

We have started our winter plans. Winnipeg, Bagley, Minnesota and Betty's RV in Abbeville at Hallowe'en. But we are in a wait and see mode.

So sorry to hear about your father. Regardless of anything else, I know it's tough on both of you and we wish you nothing but the best.

We don't really have winter plans. Our winter usually starts earlier than winter anyway. We know we'll be in Jacksonville, Florida the middle of October for a wedding. We also figure we'll spend much of the winter in the Phoenix area but don't know yet where exactly. In addition to that we may spend a little time in Palm Springs (or not). I'd also like to do Borrego Springs because we never have and we'll probably be in San Diego a good couple weeks too. Actually, I might start thinking about the reservations there sooner than later. Disneyland is in heavy chalk. Then, we really like the Tucson area but as you know, everything is subject to change if better ideas come along. That's it. Next week you might read something different.

Anyone else have plans in ink?

  4. LOL Linda! After I posted that I reread it and came up with the same. Lynn walks Willie (our dawg) every p.m. And I always ask when they get back "how'd WE do"? She'll reply..."WE pooped once (or twice)". Conjure up that image if you will...ha!

    Maybe it's a joint venture ??

  5.

Sounds to me like another good story for the class archives. Someone is keeping a record of these right?

    Linda

Well, we certainly got a kick out of it when he told us he might be on the TSA No Fly List.................. boy, the folks we hang around with !

  6. We've been boondocking with Tom and Dianne since Saturday near Bayfield, Co. Some gnats or no-see-ums got to us on Saturday. Tom and I seem to have the most bites but Dianne and Tina got their share too. Boy do they itch. It has been great except for our bug bites. We met one of their Son's and his family on Saturday too. Hope they didn't get bit as much as we did. Not sure how long we are staying here, think Tom and Dianne are leaving tomorrow.

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff :)

Send us all the GPS coordinates of those biters. That way we'll be able to stay away.

Jeff ... are you still on the "No fly list" :)

Lee ... we're all hoping that you'll be as good as new in no time. I bet you're really looking forward to getting back in your Hornet !!

  7. \

Jeri, I'm still in the Navion and will be for a while.

Well, I'm glad you kept the Navion and the Hornet. It won't be long until you'll have things in good shape. So nice that you have friends there to help you. So, are you niece and nephew talking to you? I'm glad you got to stay in New Mexico. That's more home to you than South Carolina right now.

How are you physically? Did the mini-strokes go away? Are you keeping busy during the day? Keep improving and before long you'll be as good as new!

  8. Back in Washington.

Ick ... sounds like nasty weather is everywhere. Isn't this almost summer?

Lee -- How you doing? Are you back in your "home" or still in the Navion? Feeling better? I certainly hope so.

Terry left this morning with SIL on a long drive to Texas. Robert and his brother are clearing out his father's house -- lots of work. Terry didn't want him to have to drive by himself. All I can say is better him than me. If it's not too nasty today, I just might try to catch the Rose Festival Parade in Portland .... maybe ... weather depending.

  9. Heading back from Alaska today. We've been amazed at the number of cruise ships that dump the crowds into each little town. We've been "lucky" in that we've been in a couple towns when the most cruise ships possible can be in the port. It was estimated about 10,000 drop-offs were in Skagway and over 11,000 in Ketchikan ... Of course, that probably brings lots of dollars to the towns but not the Alaska you go to visit. We saw thousands lined up yesterday to board back on the ship. Terry said it's like herding cattle. Weather hasn't been great. We're glad it's been cool but the low lying clouds take away the scenic views. It's all about timing and I'm to blame for the timing. Not sure I'll get Terry back to Alaska unless I can prove to him the cruise crowds won't follow. However, I'd like to plan something down the Aleutian Islands ... we will see.

PS ... tried to get on the tour of the ship that was the Deadliest Catch in season 2. Space only available if it doesn't sell out from the cruise ships .... like I said there were five of those in port. There's no doubt it sold out..

  10. It felt good. the seizures are not effecting muscle working just being able to talk good. I think I'll start driving more often just using the back roads taking it slow and easy. I don't want to loose my driving skills by being totally inactive.

I'm so glad to hear that you're improving. That's great news. Hopefully you'll be feeling better and better too. Take it easy like you said and soon you'll be back where you should be.

  11. I tried to post using my phone a couple of days ago.

Maybe some of those folks will give your stuff back. If not, everyone needs new things once in a while. Glad you're surrounded with folks who are helping you.

Thanks. I'll have Dave look for that one. I'm allergic to many lotions but if this works I'll be happy.

    Linda

Sorry, you're having so many problems with your hands. Doesn't sound like fun at all. Hope it gets better soon.

  12. We're not really wine drinkers but, count us in. Does anyone like Thunderbird... :P

Have a great time on your Alaska trip Jeri...looking forward to hearing more about it over a fine Cabernet Sauvignon!

    R

Neither is Terry but I'm sure he would agree to bringing a bottle along with a diet Pepsi ! :)

  13.

Have a good time on the cruise. Tina isn't sure about taking the long drive to Alaska but a cruise sounds good to her.

We should see a lot of wineries this summer traveling in the west. It will give us another excuse to stop. I think it would be a good time.

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff :)

We aren't interested in driving it either and we're really not taking a cruise. At this point I'm think a cruise would have been cheaper but you're dropped off on small ports with a limited time along with a few thousand other people. So, we're going to have a "smodge-podge" adventure on the Alaska Marine Highway. I booked four different ferries along with cabins, hotels and a car rental. We'll see how it works.

Anyone interested in the wine-fest? I didn't get any answers.

  14.

I wish the others would join in. Maybe they are sitting in one spot too long. Even sitting in one place there has to be something going on but I think a lot goes on Facebook and not here.

    Jeff

Join in? We know where we sit in the summer but actually don't sit too long. Heading for Alaska Tuesday. It' amazing how fast the weathermen change the forecast.

What about having a winefest this winter? Marsha and Paul do it during the summer so why can't we do it during the winter. There are quite a few of us that will be close to the Phoenix area for a few months. If each person brought a "unique" bottle of wine for an area they visited during the summer, we could have our own wine tasting adventure. Thoughts?

  15. Good news for Jim. I love when every one gets that kind of news. I got up here by noon on the third day and got my new drivers license taken care of. Barb wants to use one more day and go to Deadwood then stop and see a mutual friend in Denver on the way back before she has to report to work at the Lo-Hi RV Ranch. We are doing great so I'm happy.

Now the good thing is you won't have to go back for 10 years ! Enjoy yourselves, sightsee and take your time getting back ! Don't you feel free?

Happy to hear about Jim too. We all cross our fingers waiting for the good news from everyone.

  16. We got as far as Springer NM today and are holed up in a truck stop. Tommorow we should get as far as a little above Cheyenne WY. Feel good saw lots of Prong Horn. No seizures to day but wish I talk and hear better. Barb drove all the way. I was in charge of keeping an eye on the scenery.

You have the best job. This trip may be very good for you. Relax and enjoy ....................

  17.

Idiots! Why would they think you didn't know what needed to be done? I'm glad you are kicking them out and going with Barb if she can't help you figure out the online stuff today. Calm is important and people who interfere with that need to just go home.

    Linda

IYQ - Linda's right. We all know you know more about more things than all of us put together (well, kinda) ! Relax, enjoy the ride with Barb and just have a good time on the journey.

  18. No it is just the opposite.

Ouch! I'm sorry to hear that. Getting upset is no good for you or for anyone else. Hopefully, you'll be able to have peace just being away from them for awhile. Maybe time will heal when you have some space. Anyway you look at it though, they probably did you a favor. Now you can do what you want when you want and put that decision off until you have to make it. Enjoy yourselves on the trip ! Take your time and avoid the stress.

  19. That makes it nice, you can go there again and be excited again. I can have as much fun as I had yesterday never getting bored.

I may have to make a fast trip to Rapid city to get my drivers license renewed. I got a letter saying I could do it on the net but it is confusing. Monday we will call and check it out. If I have to go there one of my cowgirls said she will drive me up there.

I am not going to my Nieces place in Charleston. I told them I am not leaving and they are on thier way home. I am staying here in Deming till I croak. I'm not giving them the Navion. I have signed the Hornet over to the Low Hi RV Ranch but have been told to continue using it as long as I wish.

So, I'm guessing you're feeling much better if you're not going to Charleston. I'm glad to hear that. Hopefully, you'll get a lot more use out of the Navion. Sometimes it's nice to be able to re-think our decisions. We do that all the time. Chalk comes in handy. Let us know if you need us for anything and we'll be there to help if we can.

  20. For some reason I'm not getting the email notices of post on the classless class. I wonder what happened. I'll have to take a look and see. Maybe its just that I have a lot of trouble hearing now. Specially when a girl with a high pitched voice is calling me. One of the little girls at the clinic is that way. I can't understand a single word she says. when I figure out its her speaking I just say I can't understand you but I'll be there tomorrow at xx o'clock.

    I'm not getting them either.

  21. Phoenix was great when we first arrived. Temps in the low 80's but it didn't last. The low hundreds rolled around. Now we're back in the PNW. Friday was in the 80's but now we have a little wet sunshine. I like it to rain on the weekends. It keeps folks away. Sun should return tomorrow .......
