If I got a free campsite and I could move where ever they would need me. LOL! That kind of "work camping" I might be able to do.

We toured the Biltmore mansion just over a year ago. It is something to see. Did you pickup any cranberry juice from the winery?

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff

How long you going to be where you're at?

  2.

Sure seemed "funny" in the second half when the Broncos would have a good play there would be a penalty. Fishy. LOL.

Been raining all day, not sure if we'll move tomorrow. May sit tight and let the storm pass.

Jeri did you forget your bug spray? A necessity in Florida for sure. Glad alot of people like Florida or the desert would be too crowded.

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff :)

Just like I told Joe, hate, hate the mosquitos in Florida. My feet were so swollen from bites I couldn't fit into my shoes. I bought bug spray on Friday but should have bought it on Thursday.

The rain may be following you but you didn't take it all with you. It's still raining in the PNW. Still waiting for departure date. Hope it's Wednesday or Thursday but not sure when. We need that title from South Dakota to get on the road. Who knows when that will happen. I've been studying the map and studying it and studying it. Las Vegas is the target but that might change. It depends on the weather.

    Take care everyone.

  3. Nasty rain and high winds predicted for the PNW on Saturday. However, that bad weather won't get us since we'll still be in Florida. Instead the bugs are getting us. Tonight we were reminded of one of the reasons we didn't like Florida. It's the mosquitos. The wedding rehearsal dinner was held outside. I left with a cool dozen mosquito bites. The wedding is Saturday and we're lathering up with bug spray before we go.

  4. Thanks all,

Conversations have been going on for quite a while. She has 'the place' picked out- 3 meals a day, her own apartment, housekeeping etc, tons of activities and 3 of her best friends already live there but her last comment was "I AM NOT READY TO MOVE" yep, in all Caps.

Baby steps we say. As long as she will let us help her cull through her stuff and keep the process alive, we will be satisfied i think- for now.

We didn't sell his mom's place for 6 months. That way if she decided to go back home, it was still there for her. We looked at it like a vacation home.

  5. Safe travels. See ya in Arizona later this winter. :)

    Looking forward to it!

We moved a whole 10 miles from the Kelso Elks to our son's driveway. The mud brought in by the rain and the neighbors convinced us it was time to move after only 3 days there. At 5:30 this morning the Canadians started their diesel engine and ran it for about an hour. This went on and off for the next 4 hours. We wondered if they didn't pay for the electricity and were trying to boondock. Who knows and now who cares.

  6. Well, with TB12 back on the field, we had a great outing today.

We are bugging out of MA on Tuesday and beelining for El Paso where we will try to convince my mother in law that its time to give up the house. HA, good luck to us.

    Then its straight home!

    GO PATS!!!!

Good luck in that! However, Terry's mom did that last year. We weren't sure how that would work. However, she's in a very nice retirement home, has a super apartment and three great meals a day. There's also lots of entertainment for the residents. It took a while but she's happy she made the move now. It's not an assisted living place but there are some who have a little extra help when they need it.

We're outta here in about 9 days.

  7. We're in Winnemucca and it is finally warm enough for me to put on a short sleeve shirt rather than a sweatshirt.

I can hardly wait! Tomorrow we're in for buckets of hard rain ....not happy about that. We're off to Florida this week (if there are seats left on the plane) and after that we're heading south from here. We're finally in the process of charting our travel.

PS ... We've already shut down the "cabin" and are in town for a few days.

This is a link to my granddaughters wedding blog done by her photographer. It was at a venue in Bakersfield. Never knew Bakersfield could be so nice. Robin and his friends built the arch.

Absolutely gorgeous photos ... absolutely gorgeous granddaughter too!

I have a wedding coming up next weekend but not so sure I'll be able to go now that Matthew is creating havoc in Jacksonville. Usually disasters create all kinds of issues for flights a few days afterwards. We will see !

  9.

Do you know when you are heading south?

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff :)

I think we'll find out today. If his surgery isn't scheduled for next week, we're hoping to get on the road middle of next week. We have to be someplace close to an airport around the 12th because we have that wedding in Florida. That may mean we won't go through Utah after all. We just don't have enough time. We may end up in Las Vegas. Who knows?? !

  10. Well, well, well ... best laid plans. We discovered at our birthday dinner with the family that our son is scheduling surgery in October. We'll get the date this Friday. Thus, we're thinking all these great plans we made for the first of October might go up in smoke. I'm not sure how good that would be if we took off no matter how minor the surgery. :(

Rain today .... we're ready to head south !

  11. I have very sad news. I received an email from Lee's niece this evening.

"Lee passed away yesterday evening in the hospital. He made it 4 weeks in the hospital, but the Doctor said the tumor was pressing on his temporal and frontal lobe and that eventually it would cause him to stop breathing. I'm so sorry to have to give you this news, but I can't tell you how much I appreciate you guys checking in on him this whole time. It means a lot to me, and I know it meant a lot to Lee. "

  13. Jeri, we stayed at the Elks at Page. Nothing special, but FHU's. Antelope canyon is great, I almost had to leave Carol there!!

Well, this trip we'll probably be parking our "rig" at the Best Western. Hopefully, we won't have to make reservations and hopefully it's not too busy at that time. We haven't told the kids yet but our Washington departure date keeps getting earlier and earlier. We can fly to Florida for our nephew's wedding just as easily from Phoenix as from Portland. So, we're thinking departure date may be around the 3rd of October instead of the 25th-ish. It's beautiful during the day but you can tell fall is sneaking in during the night.

  14. We had a very good time with Jeri and Terry this past weekend seeing some of the local sites and where they live when in the PNW. I know I ate too much too.

Roger and Jeri here is a link to when we were at Page. https://rvtravelswithjeffandtina.blogspot.com/2016/06/page-az.html

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff :)

Thanks. I just checked it out and definitely want to do it. We've got hitchitch pretty bad so we may just be doing it earlier than originally planned !

  15. Technically we are on the road again. It's very strange not to have our house with us though. We have a very nice hotel in the heart of the shopping district of our former home, Langley, BC. That fact worried us. Would it be noisy? Not at all. Would the bed be good? Great bed. Too big for our taste but comfy.

Eating on the road will be difficult what with us being on Weight Watchers but we have a few things in the hotel room and intend on having just one "meal" a day out.

    So it goes!

Enjoy your vacation. Soon enough you'll be really on the road heading somewhere else.
