  1. For today's entertainment we got to watch a neighbor's awning blow over the top of their RV. Then we got to watch the mobil technicians bring it down again. At least we have our back to the wind and are behind a half wall so we've not been rocking too much.

    Linda Sand

Did the wind surprise them or did they just not put it away? There certainly has been a lot of wind just about everywhere. I guess that means spring is here. We've had temperatures at 100 degrees and now tomorrow the high is only supposed to be 54 degrees!

We got our car back but but are still waiting for the new tire rim they ordered. Also, the muffler sure is making noise now so will probably take it back this afternoon. Windshield is scheduled to be replaced this morning. We're finally getting that replaced after the rock we picked up in Yuma. We have another appointment for a baseplate on Monday. Hopefully, that's it and we can get on the road Wednesday. At least that's what we're shooting for.

Steve---- let us know when your house closes. We all want a loan!

Oh .. P.S. -- Terry now wants to sell his new little electric bike. It's too heavy and he doesn't use it. Should I say, I knew it?:D

  2. We are parked at the Tropicana Express in Laughlin and I had n IYQ night. The garbage trucks came through at 4:20 this morning. However, I refused to get up so I laid in bed and whined to myself for a couple of hours. On to Las Vegas today.

We have a wake up "bark" every morning here. Our neighbors little dog is put in his outside pen every morning before 6:30. He barks constantly as people walk by .. constantly. Of course, the barking isn't just limited to the morning. It's an all day event. Even Terry gets up early here. Have fun at Death Valley!

  3. After reading Dave's post I guess I haven't anything to complain about but I'm going to complain anyway. This morning I was sitting inside drinking coffee. The wind was blowing but not bat at all. All of a sudden a blast of wind hit the trailer, pushed the slide out in at the top about a foot then let it slam back out against the stops. My two folding chairs went flying across the room and bottles I had setting on the sink blew over. A cloud of grit and dust went through the place leaving so much grit behind that all I have to do to file my finger nails is blow on them. Outside my blue folding chair took off across the field and my new little table tipped over. I had 3 pieces of Cottonwood bark laying on the table it ended up about 30 ft away on the other side of the trailer. I had two pieces I had been carving on and they ended up under the trailer back beyond the axels. The wind stayed strong with really strong gust unlil about 5:30 PM I took a walk about 6:30 and a lot of tiny branches from the cottonwood trees were laying all over the place. The wind is still blowing but it has slacked off a bunch. Man If I'd have gone up to see Dave today, I wouldn't have had to burn any gas at all. I'd just have to have a big ancor to stop myself when I got there.

Dave: I'm going to stay down here for at least another week. Maybe more.

I'm thinking it was a tad windy. With fire and smoke in one direction and wind in the other, I guess this heat wave over here isn't so bad. We still don't like it though and get to complain too.

  4. Ohhh, we love Whidbey Island. Deception Pass State Park is just up the road from TTN. We usually don't care for the noise from the planes but we are pretty used to noise after this place.

Isn't Deception Pass GORGEOUS????!! I love the sounds of planes and the smell of jet fuel so sounds like the place for me!!:) Our son and his wife asked me to block a week for them. They mentioned going to Crater Lake. La Conner and the San Juans was what I suggested and I think that's what we're going to do. However, they'll probably be there a week and we may hang around for three weeks .... maybe. We'll probably pull into their driveway for a few weeks too. Maybe we'll do that in May. Then, when the food stops coming and they are tired of us, we'll head a little farther north.

  5. Just picked up supplies for doing that last week. So I should have it at least partially restocked by the time you get here. :l

    Joe

    Joe -

We plan on spending a little time this summer around La Conner TTN. Perhaps, you can be our supply wagon while we're there and bring us in supplies as we need them. Matter of fact, I should go book it now since I know it's pretty popular when we want to be there. You said there was a marina there. Is it right at the park? We may bring our boat.

  6. Far as I know I'm gonna be here. Maybe set up something with Jeri, Terry, Toni, Doug, and myself..................on second thought, maybe not, don't think WA is ready for all of that group together at one time. :o :o :o

    Joe

Well, then, they better get ready because it sounds like party time to me. However, we are unavailable July 16th through the 22nd ---

  7. Let me add my congratulations to you Steve and Carol!!!

We are now in Lone Pine, Ca...a beautiful area on the east side of the Sierras. We will stay here a month and then continue on north to northern California before turning west and heading toward the coast. California has some great country, but I'm also trying to avoid some of its equally great traffic!!

We will be in Washington State in July...hope we can meet anyone in that area. Joe??

    travel safely everyone

Joe? What about us? Us too. Us too.

  8. Wow, The week end is over and am I glad. I had some high volume Car radio players that vibrated my trailer until a little after 10 PM last night but I got my revenge. This morning there truck wouldn't start the battery was stone dead. I could have offered my jumper cables and pulled my truck over there but I was having too much fun watching them to see how they handled it. They went to a friend's site and he came over but they didn't have any cables so the friend went back to his site. Finally they took the battery out of the boat and put it in the truck. Then I open a window so I could hear and they were saying that now they couldn't start the boat so they might as well pack up and leave. They were gone by 8:45. The bunch across the street who were also giving them compitition on the loud radio packed up and left but left all their trash scattered all over the place and the wind was blowing it all over the campground. The Host called the Range and the ranger pulled them over before the got out of the park and made them come back and police about half the campground. Needless to say I've been grinning like a chessy cat all day.

I finished a chip carver Easter Egg (wooden) this morning that I started yesterday. Now all I got to do is spray it with clear enamal if this wind ever stops. I tried to send all the wind up to Dave but it didn't work. I got it moving toward the north but it just kept coming from the south so I think it was just coming through the campground then circling around and coming back for another pass,

That is so funny and I bet you sure enjoyed yourself watching the chaos!! I would have too.

We took a drive to Sedona today. Now we're zonked. No noise around here ... just beautiful scenery.

  9. So, are you actually staying home until then?!! Oh, I bet you rented a car.

    Linda Sand

HAHA. Linda, Linda - of course, I'm not staying home! They provided me with a loaner. The problem is it doesn't have a hitch so the blueboy will stay where it's at. The park has electric and water but only a dump. However, temperature is supposed to get into the 90's later next week. We probably will opt not to hang around but who knows. We certainly don't. We could always drive back and pick it up. It was sure nice sitting outside and listening to all the birds.

  10. We had a tough move yesterday. We moved a total of 21 miles. Actually, it wasn't the move that was so dificult, it was finding a place to fill the propane tank. That might have taken an extra mile or two. Weather is beautiful. RV site is gorgeous. Flowers are starting to bloom in the desert. We met with Jim and Sandie for dinner and then dropped by the Tiki Bar to see Eric and Karla. Things are good. Jeep won't be ready until April 5th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Jeri, you should have just fallen out of the seat and grabbed your neck! New diesel pusher next week! :P So glad you weren't hurt. You can always duct tape the rear hatch shut. Use maroon duct tape it will match fine. Steve

    Ha Ha. Another missed opportunity!!

We made it to the Phoenix area yesterday. I had read in the Mountain West book that the road between here and there was loaded with traffic and there had been numerous fatalities on it. Believe me, we can see why. A road that busy should be at least a 4-laner. It was a zoo and a wonder we didn't see half a dozen more crashes.

    Weather is gorgeous.

  12. Geri - so sorry to hear about the Jeep. Are you okay? Jim understands Terry's frustration with flying. It's just not fun anymore even though sometimes it's a necessity.

Sandyee, :D:blink: I fared much better than the Jeep. Terry's certainly tired of it. Flying stand-by during spring break season was definitely a bummer.

  13. we're hanging out at Betty's RV Park, and made one HUGE Mistake.

We planned for about 5 nights here in order to see stuff in this area. I knew this was a cool place but I didn't realize that the Betty's is such a destination place. There are so many parties and such to go to that we don't have enough time to sight see! I guess we'll just have to come back!

Headed to New Orleans on Thurs. which means we'll miss the Thurs. party and the Friday Pot luck alligator dinner. Betty is cooking alligator for everyone~

    Sue

Betty's RV sounds like someplace we all want to visit. Make a good impression so they'll treat us just like you when we mention we know you. Or, let us know whether or not to name drop.

Well, well, tomorrow is moving day but we're not moving where we thought we were moving. I really, really like chalk because it seems we use it lots. However, this is more out of convenience and necessity than picking the location. Terry has two more appointments over the next three weeks and is tired of flying back and forth. He didn't get in until after 1:00 AM this morning and even getting here was iffy because the flights are so full with all the spring breakers. Plus, an older Class C creamed the back of the Jeep when I was stopped at a red light yesterday. Jerry and Janice taped plastic on the window after all the glass was knocked out. Now we're on our way back to Phoenix and hopefully to have the back gate replaced. Some things just aren't fun and this was one of them.

  14. Steve, You talk scarry. I sounded like you actually broke all the rules of full timing and worked.

Jeri, You better check the weather in Zion, It's been snowing this week there. Oops, I said that word. Sorry folks

Well I've got just about everything done I can get done for pulling out Monday morning. I've hooked up the hoses and dumped the tanks and refilled them about half way with rinse water. Then filled the Freshwater tank. Tomorrow I'll wait till evening and dump the tanks again and put away the hoses and hookup the truck. I hope I still remember how.

Dave, are you trying to scare me off with all that talk about wind? I probably won't get that far north for about a month to six weeks so you better get a big wind break for me. No I didn't say break wind for me.

It's been WHAT in Zion????? St. George looks good but that was a few days ago. Thanks. I'll check on it again. It was sure windy and cool here today. I even think it's supposed to rain for the next couple of days. I don't like cold. I don't like wind. I don't like rain. I like it perfect but haven't figured out where perfect is yet.

    Edit. Edit.

St. George is about 20 miles from the entrance to Zion at Springdale. Springdale weather forecast is something else. Temperatures in the 40's and a chance of snow by next weekend is forecast!!! You all know 40 degrees is not something we do well. So, I just got out the chalk and erased that. Where to go? Where to go?

  15. Same problem ever spring, anxious to head north but, never sure what surprise mother nature has in store.

If you are just looking for a place to hangout for week. I suggest the SKP Co-op in Pahrump. There isn't much to do here but it is quiet and cheaper than Las Vegas. Also you would be close enough to visit Death Valley as a day trip. I think they have open sites but, you might give them a call before you head over the hill.

Actually, that was or really still might be an option. We were in Pahrump last year. However, we "may" go to Zion National Park and St. George next week and then come back to Las Vegas for a couple nights while Terry makes another flight to Phoenix. Then, we're thinking we might head towards Pahrump ... maybe. At least we'd have the option of leaving via Reno or via California later. Of course, everything is subject to weather. And, this time of year weather can be a real challenge.

  16. Great news about Terry!

Do remember how much you got in a hurry to go north last year then regretted it. Maybe you should go east some to kill time before you go north. Then you can take a different route and see lots of new things to keep you from traveling quite so fast. You know how vehicles get once they point towards home. You'd think they were horses headed for the barn. Well, they sort of are, I guess.

You could go see Freddie & Delcie then Steve & Carol on your way north. :)

    Linda Sand

Actually, we had no choice last year. We had to hurry north for doctor appointments and surgery last spring. However, going east to go north there's a lot of cold, cold weather that direction too. Besides, Terry has several appointments scheduled 2 weeks apart through April and into May that we have to be close to a major airport. That kind of sucks. We have to make up our mind in about another 4 days since they'll kick us out of this park then. Maybe we should just go out for a week and then back in. At least that would give the warm weather a chance to catch up. Hmmmm. You're right ... maybe I should just say giddyup when we pull out. When spring starts to get here I'm ready to head towards all the lakes, rivers and ocean in the Northwest.

  17. .... I spent the whole sum of $13.50 and wasted about 3 hours. .... I think I use tomorrow to get a hair cut.

Well, you're certainly slow getting rid of $13.50. I can drop that amount of $$$ much faster here at a casino in Vegas.

I got a haircut today but still have lots of hair left.

We need to pull out of our slot next week but we still have no idea where we're going. The weather just isn't very nice much farther north. It's snowing in Utah, snowing in Reno and raining in central California!! Eek!!

Terry's in Portland and reminded me we did not want to move up there too fast or we'll be running our furnace lots. He said he forgot how March felt there. His oncology report was good ... Yippee!!
