  1. Get one of those National Parks passport books and start collecting stamps. You'll never need another idea of where to go next. The join geocaching.com and you'll never run out of things to do wherever you are. Linda Sand
  2. But morning comes way too early in those campsites! Linda
  3. Wow, Lee! I'm glad you had already left Walmart! Heat might be good for loosening up congestion but not that kind of heat. Linda Sand
  4. Glyn, It's easy to see you are new to our group. Steve and Carol lived for about a year at the Fire Lake Grand Casino, in Shawnee, OK, while waiting for their house to sell. Free water/electric on a creek with a picnic table. Several of us visited them there and many of us stop there whenever taking route I-40. Check it out. Linda Sand
  5. A few Cracker Barrels have the RV parking along one side. The one in Yuma has NO RV parking. We get so spoiled we forget they are not all alike. The one closest to my brother's house has RV parking but I wouldn't want to stay overnight at that one.
  6. MIke & Deb, We'll all be traveling with you in our hearts. Take care. Linda Sand
  7. You seem to have a talent for finding really good places. Or a talent for enjoying the places you find. Linda
  8. So, you want to come clean for me instead? Hope, hope, hope. Tuesday looks good. Late afternoon? Where we going? Linda
  9. Finally did my food inventory and I have enough to last until my leaving day here. Apparently I buy tuna and salmon every time I go to the store. But Terry & Jeri did pull in yesterday so we may go out to eat anyway. I still have more money than food, I think. And I sure do like to have other people do my cooking. (Hi, Toni.) Jeri says she's not cooking for me so we'll go out if we decide to share a meal or two. Linda
  10. I went down to the bar to get one of their Sunday breakfast boxes today. Ham, eggs, potatoes, Danish, juice. I don't get the coffee or champagne. I ate the eggs, Danish and some of the potatoes for breakfast. I'll eat the ham and the rest of the potatoes with some fruit for lunch. Two meals for $5.17. Took my last two steaks out of the freezer to thaw. Still haven't done my food inventory but I think I'm going to make it. But, if Terry & Jeri do make it here we can sure go out to eat. Linda
  11. I have some canned chicken to add to the soup. Almost forgot I bought it. Maybe should do an actual inventory to see how much food I really have? Lots of potatoes, I know that. Linda
  12. I'm sitting in my membership park trying to make four days worth of food last a week so I don't have to unhook and move twice in one week since my time is up here the 7th. I don't mind going to the bar to eat lunch but their food is not THAT good. They do sell some food in the store here but the selection is not wonderful; wonder how long I can live on chicken noodle soup? Linda
  13. Well, I'm pleased to report my Scoot did not blow away in the winds we've been having. I thought I might have to chain it to the picnic table but it rocks less than the RV does. Good to know it is so stable. Linda Sand
  14. AND HOW WAS YOUR WEEK? The OS update on my phone broke it which left me without internet either since my phone is my hot spot so I had to drive 316 miles round trip to Phoenix to get it fixed. And it hailed on my RV in Quartzsite this morning. Sure hope we all had all year's bad luck this week so the rest of the year will be fine! Linda
  15. You think some of us have been there so many times we have a favorite time? Linda
  16. Be careful not to go too low on the salt. That can leave you with an iodine shortage which will then mess up your thyroid. I may have said this before but Dave's Dad got bit big time by not eating enough salt so when people start sounding obsessive about low salt I get a bit worried. Linda
  17. I'm at Craggy Wash north of Lake Havasu City parked next to Doug & Toni. We've been making deals. I buy ingredients and Toni cooks. Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, carrots, and ice cream the first night. Ribs with hand cut French fries and pumpkin pie the second night. Lasagna with Caesar salad and carrot cake tonight. And I get to take home some of the leftovers! I keep walking around singing, "Heaven, I'm in Heaven." Linda
  18. We're due for some more of that rocking and rolling tomorrow. I didn't think I'd be looking forward to winter ending way down here in Arizona. Linda
  19. They are predicting high wind gusts again Monday. My time here is up Tuesday. So I might come Sunday if I actually do all my chores today. My GPS didn't like your coordinates at La Posa. Can you give me directions instead this time? Julie taught me how to text so I can do that now. Linda
  20. You just got there, right? Are you staying the full two weeks? If so I think I'll hang here with the free electricity a bit longer to see if the weather warms up again. If you are not staying that long there, let me know and I will come sooner. I really would like to have these curtains finished but not badly enough to buy my own sewing machine and try to find a big enough table to use to do them. BTW, this is the only means I have of contacting you right now. The email address I have doesn't work and the phone number gets me a "voicemail not set up" response. Linda
  21. Sorry about that. When I asked about timing you said not today nor tomorrow. Then I had to drive to charge my batteries. Since you never said when I decided I had enough of the battery game and came here. I would have come back down for the day anytime you said when. Do you still want to do them? I hate to do the not tomorrow bit after having said all that but gusty winds tomorrow. But after the winds die down I'll drive up to Havasu if you'll do them. I need to go out for groceries anyway. Linda
  22. But, do you have Verizon? I have 5 more days here then plan to go boondocking for a week. Want to meet somewhere and do my curtains? Thinking about Plamosa Road so I can do all my computer updates on that fast connection. We could meet at Parker Walmart and stock up before heading out. Linda
  23. VERY little steps, I hope. It's barely February. Linda
