  1. Glad you two managed to stick it out through the ups and downs. Glad to say we've been able to do that, too. Linda
  2. Good to hear you are doing well now. I hope life continues to go well for you. Linda Sand
  3. I remember that self-starting fire. I noticed because it was the wrong time of day to be starting one. It caused just a few minutes of excitement as I remember it. Linda Sand
  4. Got my lab results today. Doesn't appear to be valley fever. Have not yet decided if that's good or bad news. Linda
  5. Lee, I can't remember if you eliminated Valley Fever as a source of your lung problems? That's what my doctor is checking relating to my shortness of breath now. Shortness of breath is not listed as a typical symptom but I also have the fatigue and red bumps that look like bug bites. Although we were not originally considering valley fever as a source of either of those they are listed as potential symptoms and we haven't been able to find another source of my shortness of breath. Minnesota doctors don't see much valley fever so that was not considered until I brought it up then my doctor thought was an excellent idea to evaluate. My fatigue started last year when I was still in Arizona so it seems worth checking it out. Now we are waiting for a culture to develop enough to tell us whatever it is going to indicate. I don't expect to hear anything about that before Monday. Linda Sand
  6. Tina and Jeff, Sorry to hear about your loss. It is a hard but good decision to make. Wishing you well during this time of grieving Megan. (Not that I don't wish you well other times too, you know.) Linda
  7. They drew the blood and urine yesterday. Now we are waiting for the culture. I don't know how long that takes but I get lab results by email as soon as they are done then I get feedback from my doctor about the results. I sure do like this electronic charting that lets me go to a different lab but get the same quick report. My doctor doesn't want to start treating it until she is sure that's what I have since she doesn't want me to experience side effects of the treatment unnecessarily if that's not what I have. Linda
  8. Good news; bad news. Good: No blood clot in my lung. Bad: I may have Valley Fever. Going to present that idea to my doctor and see what she thinks. Linda
  9. I relate to day to Lee's challenges with his doctor. I asked mine today about this shortness of breath I've been having lately. She ordered a blood test--said negative proves something but positive proves nothing. Came back positive. Going to have a CT with contrast in about an hour and a half to be sure there's no blood clot in my lung. Whoopee! Here we go again. Linda
  10. Plus, it turns the output green if I remember correctly. I hated taking iron supplements. Eating red meat is much more pleasurable. Linda Sand
  11. I think Steve must have visited here. Our A/C is broken. They came up to do routine maintenance on it Friday afternoon and it hasn't worked since. There appears to be a freon leak somewhere not visible. They filled it and it worked for a short while. Now they are saying they can't do anything until Monday but they think they will be replacing our unit then. In the meantime they brought us a box fan. Ummm, people it is HOT here. Mid afternoon I took a cool shower then we drove way down to Lakeville to Cracker Barrel just to use the A/C in the car and restaurant for awhile. Maybe tomorrow we'll drive out to Rogers in the van to eat at Denny's and give the van a workout--diesels need to be run, you know. And we sure don't feel like doing much else in this heat. Linda
  12. Today I am feeling hopeful. My health is finally improving so I may be able to get back out there this year after all. Linda
  13. My experience is if the new owners don't also change the staff you pretty much get what you always got. It is hard to know that, though, without going there once again. Sorry your experience proved my rule. Linda
  14. Lee, I sure do like my TravelScoot. It get me around Emerald Cove park just fine. I do have to be careful not to outpace anyone walking along with me, though. And it can fold up into a carry-on size bag if you want to take it with you to other parks. Linda
  15. The trick to going as a group to a rally is to meet up someplace in advance and go in as a caravan. That gets you parked together. The trick with Escapade is they have several entry days and, some years, several types of sites, so you have to agree before anyone registers as to what day you are going and what type of site you want. If I go to this next one, I will probably ask for a handicapped site so as to be closer to main events. But, my ability to go at all is not looking good right now--the new medicine they having me trying makes me too stupid to drive. Linda
  16. We went to Escapade our first year on the road. We felt lost a lot. But we felt lost pretty much everywhere those first few months. The evening programs were better than most seminars so I recommend taking afternoon naps so you can be awake for the evening. My favorite seminar was a lady from the Chamber of Commerce who told us where to get the best eats. Linda Sand
  17. I'd go to Hawaii again in a minute but I'm not so sure about sharing rooms. The last time we shared a room the other guy snored loudly all night so we got very little sleep. Linda
  18. My favorite of all Jeri and Terry's purchases is the extending handle small fly swatter they brought me. It has been well used and appreciated. It fits just fine in my small motorhome but does its job as well as the bigger fly swatters do. In fact it now rests right here at my desk in the apartment just daring any flies to come near. Thanks again, Jeri and Terry. Linda Sand
  19. Ha! Steve asked how much stuff Jeri sold and she answered with how much she bought. Tells you where her mind is. Ought to be a good free table next January. :0 Linda
  20. You tell the best stories! I love this one. Linda
  21. Toni, i don't know how you guys do it. I couldn't. But, I sure am glad someone does. Linda
  22. Hmmm. Sounds like one of my iPad hidden object games where you have to find and/or assemble the parts. Bet, I could do that if you sent me pictures of the areas you hid them. Linda Sand
  23. I hate that! It's kind of like removing something from your eye. You know it is not still there but your body insists on acting as if it was. I am so glad I finally figured out what method I need to use to get all my pills to go down correctly. In the meantime I find lemon drops to be the best way to soothe that type of throat irritation. Lifesavers work, too, but I prefer lemon drops when I can get them. Linda Sand
  24. Wish I could send Lee some of our rain. A local RV park we stayed in 3-4? years ago flooded out again this year as the Minnesota River overflowed its banks. We don't need anymore rain. Yesterday it came down so hard with 45° winds we couldn't see our swamp next door. Sure was fun to watch that rain from safe inside. Linda
  25. Sounds like you'll be passing through our neighborhood. Usually I'd offer to meet for a meal but right now I'm having such bad foot pain when walking that Dave is bringing my food to my desk so I don't have to hobble to the kitchen to eat. I go nowhere except the desk, recliner, bathroom, and bed. It seems my current shoes relieve one pain but cause another. Can't decide what to wear on my feet. May have to go back to the podiatrist next week. Ugh! Other than that, life is good. Linda
