  1. I don't think so, you can get them at any Publix Supermarket as well as other places. But we are in state so we would not know if they do. But generally FL bends over backwards to help out of state tourist so if they did charge extra it would be a surprise. Marathon would be at least $100/night so you are far better off at the Famcamp.
  2. I have not been to the NAS cg, are you sure you can get in? I suspect it may be very popular. And this is the peak of the 'season' in the Keys. We usually camp at Marathon not Key West and tho I've gone past NAS I don't know anything about it. And we've made day trips to Key West but not stayed there. Sunset BTW is a big tourist event in KW as hundreds gather to watch is from a pier. Going down to KW from Orlando, take the Florida Turnpike south until it ends and drops you on the surface roads maybe a mile from the highway into the Keys. If you get an early start you should make it to KW before sunset. The FTP will send you a bill unless you have a Sunpass. You do NOT want to drive thru Miami. You can take I4 to I95 and then pick up the FTP farther south but saving money will cost you time. The Everglades is a long drive from KW and then a long drive into the park.
  3. True IF you hang around in the Valley which is a tiny part of the park. Get out into the rest of the park and the crowds decrease but don't vanish. Do some hiking.
  4. The west is best but it is safe to assume Tioga Pass won't be open before late June. Also more bad news for 22, the park is doing major road construction and will be limiting visitor entry to prevent gridlock. All in all not a grat year to visit and of course my wife won a free week at Coarsegold at the Escapade. May not be usable this year and expires in August. I'm thinking all this activity is the result of the major money infusion that the last administration gave the park system. Yosemite certainly needs the work but I wish it wasn't blocking access.
  5. I left you so info on the other site that you asked on.
  6. Grand Adventure has this episode on using Starlink with their RV. *No discussion ofd setup costs * Waited two years on the waiting list * Have to pull antenna down before moving * get 135 to 300 MBps doownload. * Cell system limits where you can get on the system when you move
  7. Since we do not know the weather for the next four months none of us can know. But it seems to be shaping up as a cold and snowy winter in which case it will be early and some of the park roads may be closed. Based on the average year I'd say you are on the edge.
  8. You must visiting a different YNP, we've spent months there, 3 weeks last year and still haven't seen every thing in the park. The park is larger than several eastern states.
  9. If you mean the route thru Cody to the east gate then it has a steady climb up. You can do it just take your time. That goes past Fishing Bridge. Very scenic drive. That's assuming the snow is cleared. Stock up in Cody when you go thru.
  10. LOL we were there this summer: Lincoln Monument
  11. I don't know just what sections were closed in any year but between Laramie and Rock Springs is a fairly high pass which would be a good candidate, Lincoln might get buried
  12. Not just Wyoming it's the whole mountain west. We got heavy snow on July 2rd in Idaho at Craters, snow in YNP on the 4th, different year and again snow in july in another year. I think i80 has been closed every month by snow except one. Summer snow doesn't usually last.
  13. Just got an email from the tax prep people I used the last few years, renew for $45, which seemed high. I recall going thru this on AV software before I just began using the MS stuff and found the exact same software on Amazon at a considerable savings. Sure enough Amazon price $29 plus you can download the software years from now at no cost whereas the tax prep co wants $10 to do that. So get a second price on these things.
  14. Have you ever found the government to be timely and efficient? The election is 10 months away unless there are local elections in between.
  15. You should be able to stay on major roads, not interstates but well trafficked highways until you get to the parks. And the parks are ready for snow, they had snowplow equipped trucks ready to go as we left in October. And they had already cleared the road we were on.
  16. No they are taking prudent steps to preserve the validity of the election. What's the big deal about showing your DL to vote, we have been doing it for years here in FL ever since the hanging chad fiasco. No one complains here.
  17. No just take precautions, keep up with the weather. If snow blocks the road plan to stop for a few days until the roads are cleared. If you stick to major highways you aren't going to be lost in a snowfall. Those states are prepared to deal with snow unlike Virginia. The suggestion that you delay on the way and visit some spots on the way out is good. Late May is better than early May. Check out Arches or Zion
  18. Really depends on weather Cody west is problematic since that is the high road into YNP. We came out that way in early October and snow was following us out and closing that road. All the cg in Cody shut down Sep 30, not sure when they re-open May is early for YNP, I90 to Livingston MT then south may work better but weather will control. We have often gone I80 to Rock Springs then north on 191 to Jackson. But once again watch the snowfall.
  19. You may want to look at Clark Howard Best online banks, he does an radion consumer advice program, he has a page for credit unions too.
  20. I just saw the national weather, the cold front going thru the northeast right now is the coldest in three years.
  21. We ran into one fellow, and I did not get his name, who said he was at the original campfire.
  22. This time of year with all the snow?? I'd head south as quickly as possible to I-10 then west
  23. Well record high snowfalls may fix that come spring. I'm not sure where that river gets its water from.
