  1. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Where are you staying in Wickenburg? We may be heading that way next week. Enjoying a turkey dinner today at the Pair-A-Dice SKP Park in Pahrump. Vicki
  2. The leather (like?) material on our recliners in our 2015 Forest River is also peeling. But as all the mechanics still work and they are very comfortable, we decided to buy covers for them until something else comes up that would make us replace them. We got the covers from Amazon and they work really well. They have a non-slip backing that keeps them in place and are a soft almost velour type fabric. Figure it will give us a couple more years usage out of the recliners. Vicki
  3. We have a 2015 Ram 3500 DRW and wanted more capacity than 32 gallons but didn’t want to give up our toolbox and didn’t want a combo fuel/toolbox that would extend above the tonneau cover. So we just replaced the regular tank with a larger 55 gallon tank. It’s worked out pretty well even if it might not be as much fuel as an auxiliary tank would have provided. It usually covers the distance we prefer to travel in one day so we can generally fuel up without the RV. Vicki
  4. I have Apple phone and iPad, have an outdoor account, own my equipment and still can’t use the app. I’m not on pay as you go, but that’s not the reason they gave me. They said it’s because my equipment is a hopper 3 and that is marked as residential equipment and not usable in an RV so my account doesn’t qualify. Sounds like any excuse will do. I keep complaining in every survey about 2 to 3 times a week. Vicki
  5. Had a good time at the first timers social and got to meet Rav and his wife.
  6. We are here at Escapade too. No one else from our class has responded though. Have a pretty full schedule but can always find time to meet new friends!! Vicki and Mark
  7. We really liked Palmdale RV Resort in Los Fresnos, TX. Great place for the winter. Nice large sites and very nice people. Vicki
  8. And it is getting very frustrating now as we are moving about once a week and the reps on chat are telling me I can do this myself on the app and then continually argue with me when I tell them it’s not available to me yet. Vicki
  9. We really like the Aeropress too. It does make really good coffee. And we bought it for the same reason, to use when boondocking as our regular coffeemaker does use quite a bit of electricity. May need to check out that grinder. Thanks for the video. Vicki
  10. We just got back from a 9 week stay in Grand Cayman enjoying the ocean and sunshine! Have three different rallies coming up with the Escapade being the last one. After that we are going to head up and travel across the northern part of the US exploring and taking our time. Hope to see and meet some of you at the rally! Vicki
  11. If you are already receiving social security you will automatically be enrolled in Medicare when you become eligible. If you are not, then you will need to apply for both Medicare parts A and B about 2-3 months before you turn 65. I think you can do it online. If not drawing SS, you will have to choose how you will pay for the part B premiums until they can start withdrawing it from your SS. Tricare will automatically switch you to TFL once they receive notice of your enrollment in Medicare. I assume you have Express Scripts for medications so you don’t need a part D. TFL is a great supplement for Medicare! HTH - Vicki
  12. We are currently in Rockport, Texas doing hurricane disaster relief but plan to be in Summerdale at the Rainbow Plantation mid-December until right after Christmas. Maybe we can meet up. Vicki
  13. We have the Weber Q1200 and had to remove the regulator on the grill in order to use the quick connect line on our 5W. That was the only way we could get the correct pressures. It can be put back on if we want to use bottled lp but as we fulltime we don’t see that happening often or at all. Vicki
  14. We moved into our RV fulltime in August. We are in Texas now until at least the end of the year. We will be staying the month of December at a park near South Padres Island. We may stay there for January and February if we really like it or we may decide to head to Arizona and check out Quartzsite. Just playing it by ear. Vicki
  15. We are heading out Monday, first south from Indiana to Florida until the end of October and then we are heading west. We will probably spend most of November in Texas meeting up with our daughter and her husband's family for Thanksgiving and then move on to Arizona. We do plan on a little bit of time at Quartzsite in January but other than that have not made any definite plans. Hope we don't have any problems finding parks. We are also open to suggestions. Maybe we will run into you on the road! Vicki and Mark
  16. We will be moving into our 5W in August. Have camped for years, moving from tents to popups to TT then a couple different MH but knew we wanted a 5W for fulltiming. We started the process last fall buying the RV and truck and also selling the house and downsizing 30 years worth of STUFF! As hubby still had to work, we moved into a small apartment, keeping only a small amount of furniture. And in the meantime making modifications to the RV to get it ready for fulltiming. Fortunately he has been able to retire earlier than expected in February of this year, so now we are just waiting out our 1 year lease on the apartment plus we are babysitting grandkids this summer. But come August - kids are back in school and we can move out and get rid of the rest of our things. We've spent the last few weeks scanning many pictures and documents that had been stored by not only us but both of our deceased mothers and my grandfather. Really freeing to get rid of all the paper accumulation. Hoping not to have to leave anything in storage. I think the only hard part will be being away from the grandkids for long periods of time. We see them a lot now and they grow up so fast. But there's always Skype and facetime so hopefully it won't be too bad. Vicki
