  1. Jay, I'm with you today and I do not bring anything with my phone. I don't even use it for Internet or productivity - just calls and for my Kindle books/Sling TV in waiting rooms occasionally. I only kept the two KBs, the Targus BT and the ZAGG wired because we do use Amazon Fire 8" HD+ Tablets for our Bathroom music sources connected to Bose Soundlink Flex and a Bose Soundlink Mini II. The Logitech K-400 are my desktop KBs We each have a Surface Pro 7 and 7+ LTE and Surface Go 2 M3 LTE with a sim card that works on all three, and typecovers for them all. That is why we have the two Microsoft Arc mice which we never use - because typecovers. But this gave me a chance to see if I could get the mouse hover functions on SKP forums desktop version to work with my phone for fun. Just an experiment. I too do not like lugging around a bunch of stuff and like minimalist. MY cell phone is either in my back pocket when out, or in the phone holder built into my car and connected to it while driving. We no longer do music from our phone SD cards because streaming. I use the SD cards with music on our Amazon Fire Tablets.
  2. Did everyone miss the first paragraph of the OP? "I just had another post here that thought the mobile SKP Forums website on our cell phones cannot be changed back to desktop mode to use an external compact keyboard and a touch-pad or Bluetooth mouse. EZ PZ, here's how with pics. " 😏 You now know how to switch Escapees Forums to Desktop mode on your phones, how to access the ignore button with one hover/click, and that all you need is a wireless or wired mouse/touchpad to have a cursor to hover.
  3. This excellent article from Investor's Business Daily today is a good read for this point in time. If you bought on the dip of Jan 3 2023 at ~ $108 you've doubled your money in exactly six months! Congrats! I believe BYD is going to be another great stock if you buy a major dip and hold it long. But that's a guess because I know where Tesla is going in this year alone. This article from Investor's Business daily today covers many more stocks at or near their buy points. Excerpt: "Market rally leadership remains narrow, concentrated in the artificial intelligence space, as well as chips and software. Many of those stocks are extended. But if market breadth continues to improve, a wider array of buying opportunities will develop. Already, Tesla (TSLA) broke out Friday. DexCom (DXCM), Lennar (LEN) and JPMorgan Chase (JPM) flashed early entries late in the week. Marriott International (MAR) arguably is actionable as well. All reflect possible leadership areas. Tesla stock joins EV rivals such as BYD (BYDDF) in clearing buy points. DXCM stock is one of several medical products securities trying to push higher. LEN stock is among a number of homebuilders rebounding again. JPM stock stands out among financials, but the sector is rebounding. MAR stock is among a broadly reviving travel sector. Investors should be looking to add exposure amid the promising bullish shift. But be ready to step back. Meanwhile, Apple (AAPL) is expected to show off its mixed-reality headset on Monday, its first new hardware product since the Apple Watch in 2015. The headset will take on rivals such as the Meta Quest from Meta Platforms (META). Apple stock is on the cusp of clearing its January 2022 highs and is closing in on a $3 trillion market cap. In other news, Palo Alto Networks (PANW) will join the S&P 500, among many changes to the S&P indexes before the open on June 20. PANW stock jumped late Friday. Tesla stock joined IBD Leaderboard on Friday, joining Meta stock and Palo Alto Networks. PANW stock is on the IBD Big Cap 20. LEN stock joined SwingTrader on Friday. Lennar was Friday's IBD Stock Of The Day. Dow Jones Futures Today Dow Jones futures open at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, along with S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures. Remember that overnight action in Dow futures and elsewhere doesn't necessarily translate into actual trading in the next regular stock market session. Stock Market Rally The stock market rally showed strong, broad gains, especially late in the week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average popped 2% in last week's stock market trading. The S&P 500 index rallied 1.8%. The Nasdaq composite gained 2%. The small-cap Russell 2000 jumped 3.3%. The 10-year Treasury yield fell 13 basis points to 3.69% for the week, but did rise 8 basis points on Friday. U.S. crude oil futures fell 1.3% to $71.74 a barrel last week, even with Friday's 2.3% bounce. ETFs Among growth ETFs, the Innovator IBD 50 ETF (FFTY) popped 3.6% last week, while the Innovator IBD Breakout Opportunities ETF (BOUT) gained 1.7%. The iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF (IGV) climbed 2.1%. The VanEck Vectors Semiconductor ETF (SMH) dipped 0.8%. Reflecting more-speculative story stocks, ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) leapt 6.45% last week and ARK Genomics ETF (ARKG) jumped 4.9%. Tesla stock is the No. 1 holding across Ark Invest's ETFs. Cathie Wood's Ark also owns some BYD stock. SPDR S&P Metals & Mining ETF (XME) rebounded 4.2% last week. The Global X U.S. Infrastructure Development ETF (PAVE) popped just over 3%. U.S. Global Jets ETF (JETS) ascended 3.1%. SPDR S&P Homebuilders ETF (XHB) jumped 3.5%. The Energy Select SPDR ETF (XLE) advanced 1.4%. The Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) climbed 2.2%. DXCM stock is in XLV. The Financial Select SPDR ETF (XLF) rose 2.15% in an outside, upside week. JPM stock is a major XLF component. The SPDR S&P Regional Banking ETF (KRE) jumped 4.8%. Apple Mixed-Reality Headset Apple will show off its latest hardware and software innovations in a keynote presentation Monday at 10 a.m. PT at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference. It'll detail the latest operating systems for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Watch. But the buzz is all about a mixed-reality headset, possibly called Reality Pro. It would be the first new hardware product since the Apple Watch debuted in 2015. The expected $3,000 price tag could deter buyers. Meta Platforms (META) recently unveiled its latest Meta Quest headset. Apple stock rallied 3.15% last week to 180.95. That's just below the January 2022 peak of 182.94. Tesla Stock Tesla stock jumped 10.8% to 213.97 for the week, including a 3.1% jump on Friday. Shares cleared their 200-day moving average on Tuesday. On Friday, TSLA stock ran past a 207.89 buy point from what's either a cup or double-bottom base. The EV giant has advanced on above-average volume for five straight sessions, after few such days in the prior three months. Meanwhile, BYD stock ran up 5.6% to 31.50 during the week. Friday's 2.3% gain pushed the China EV and battery giant back above a 31.17 cup-with-handle buy point initially cleared on May 10. On Thursday, BYD reported record deliveries in May, exceeding its late 2022 peak. Tesla now says its base Model 3 gets the full $7,500 tax credit in the U.S., along with all other Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, according to reports late Friday. It's not clear how that happened. Meanwhile, Tesla has boosted its referral program again, on top of U.S. inventory discounts, especially on the Model 3. Other Stocks Near Buy Points DXCM jumped 6.5% to 122.57 last week. On Thursday, DexCom reclaimed its 50-day line, then added to gains Friday in above-average volume. That's offered an early entry. The continuous glucose monitor maker has a buy point above 126.44 in a new flat base, right next to two other consolidations, according to MarketSmith analysis. Several other medical product and systems makers are worth watching, including Shockwave Medical (SWAV) and Intuitive Surgical (ISRG). LEN stock rallied 3.6% to 112 on Friday, rebounding back above the 50-day line, offering an aggressive entry in an emerging consolidation. On Wednesday, Lennar stock fell to test a prior buy point. Several other homebuilders made bullish price gains Friday, but LEN stock moved in heavy volume. JPM stock popped 3% to 140.47, closing right on a downtrend in a new flat base next to a prior consolidation. It's not extended from its 50-day line either. JPMorgan looks a lot healthier than other banks, but bank stocks did make bullish moves Friday. MAR stock gained 3.55% to 177.22 on Friday after reclaiming its 50-day line on Thursday. Arguably, Marriott is offering an early entry from an emerging flat base. Royal Caribbean (RCL) is cruising higher, but most other travel stocks are like Marriott, trying to take off after fits and starts. Market Rally Analysis The stock market rally showed further strength this week, with some hopeful signs that breadth and leadership are improving. The Nasdaq continued to power ahead, hitting a 13-month high on Friday. But the past week was about more than AI plays. The S&P 500 decisively cleared its 2023 range and is closing in on its August 2022 peaks. The Dow Jones, which was testing its 200-day line for much of the week, vaulted above its 50-day line on Friday. The Russell 2000, which broke below its 50-day line Wednesday, rose to the best levels since early March, clearing the 200-day line for the first time since then as well. The First Trust Nasdaq 100 Equal Weighted Index ETF (QQEW) advanced 1.4% for the week to a 52-week high. The Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP) popped 1.9% for the week. Friday's 2.2% gain pushed the RSP clearly above its 50-day and 200-day lines, breaking a downtrend going back to early February. Advancers trounced losers on Thursday and Friday. On Friday, winners led by more than 5-to-1 on the NYSE and nearly 3-to-1 on the Nasdaq. Still, the long-term trend has been weak. And a downward trending A/D line is critical. The Nasdaq and Nasdaq 100 have been getting extended, with the latter now 9.5% above the 50-day line. Ideally, big-cap techs, especially AI plays, would slow down or pause while other sectors step up. That was generally the pattern on Friday, with the Dow Jones, Russell 2000 and RSP easily outpacing the Nasdaq 100's 0.7% gain. That's creating some buying opportunities, such as Tesla, Lennar, DexCom and JPMorgan. Of course, a strong couple of days doesn't guarantee that a broad market advance is underway. From a macro perspective, the debt ceiling is no longer a concern. The Fed, which seemed headed for a June 14 rate hike just a few days ago, now seems poised to pause. With earnings season (finally) winding down, the news cycle may be in for a relatively quiet stretch. What To Do Now With the market rally picking up steaming and starting to broaden, investors have to take notice. Yes, this might be another head fake. The narrow advance could resume or, worse, the overall market rally could buckle or break down. But right now, the market is sending bullish signals. If you wait until a powerful bull market has undeniably taken hold, the leading stocks will all be well extended. Investors should be looking to add exposure, especially if they've mostly been in cash. But do so gradually, to minimize the impact of sudden market reversals. It's important to be flexible. And, just as you don't want to get locked into a bearish mindset, don't be a blind bull if the broader market or your positions falter. This is an important time to be building your watchlists. Have a select group of stocks that you focus on, but make sure to cast a wide net to keep tabs on a wide array of potential leaders." 4. 1998 Damon Challenger fifth wheel. I heard a rumor that their plant was shut down for a bit before Thor took them over because of drug issues in the factory. Rumored by folks at the time who owned them. I think they resolved the in house drug use since. Still would not touch them with a ten foot pole. I keep documentation on all defects and repairs and tips and tricks I learned like making my own heated water hose for winter and home made custom bug screens for water heater cover, furnace, and reefer covers. with expanded aluminum. I had that one for burned and problematic neutrals so folks do look inside your converters by taking off the cover but don't stick your fingers in there just look for burned or overheated wires. That same Challenger had a GFCI circuit on the outside 110 outlet. My power inside stopped working after I washed the trailer. Turned out that supposed outdoor rain cover leaked. I blew it out with air several times and it finally reset.
  5. I am on book 13 of 22 of the "Big Lake" series by Nick Russell. His characters are like family now. I have eclectic tastes in reading going from poetry to science fiction to history to philosophy to historical fiction to military history and International affairs. I especially like the history of the protestant reformation, The Golden Age of Islam, early religions and origins like Zoroastrians, Egyption beliefs and some of the amazing archeological finds that make no sense by old narratives. Nick is a friend as well as a writer of engaging tales. His Big Lake books are like the Andy Griffith show and the TV series Longmire rolled into one. Comfort reading of the engaging kind.

  7. John, We dodged a bullet we know. I am familiar with low current arcing in Romex in walls building resistance until it burns in the wall. AFCIs can be a real can of worms for end users and folks without the experience to install and use them correctly. We were full time and had no power so no diagnostics, I had planned to get the newer one with the better power supply and less issues with lights anyway so I had the right model and had one installed the next day. But worse they put a heat vent with a non-adjustable grate three inches or so from it and blowing hot air right into it: They did not use fittings on the incoming city water, they left a flap of roof over the vent to the back of the rig. So no air in back. I thought it was the divider under the plenum that separates the A/C warm air intake and cold air to two ducts one covered. They stripped the upper screws on the window over the bed in the slide-out and it leaked but only into the slide pan. Bearings were defective and burned on one side of one axle but fortunately the spindle was OK. Bathroom floor bowed with too little support in the basement. Much more wrong with it. I fixed the water inlet, A/C vents/divider, replaced the water heater Romex with single piece. I hired installing the new converter and bearings since we were on the road and parks frown on working on engines and wheels in their spaces. Yes I have pics of everything but just stayed on topic stickup to the electrical topic. I agree on some shabby and dangerous work on on some RVs, better on houses compared to some RVs.
  8. Darryl and OldJohn we agree from experience. There are some badly put together rigs out there. Our second rig a lemon, factory miswired and sloppy, neutrals all burned: Later Lynn smelled burning plastic and we traced it to a badly wired connector. It was a four foot run from the breaker box to the water heater. They spliced two short cut offs of 2 and 2.5 feet rater than use a single four foot piece of Romex. We found a smoldering plastic connector on the plastic covered carpet under the sinkfire before it flamed just as it was starting to smoke. Thank goodness we were awake and it did not start in the middle of the night: This was in 2000 and the rig was two years old. Lots more bad design and very bad assembly errors from uncaring workers. I have all the pics yet but these are the only electrical ones. That was a 1998 Damon Challenger.
  9. Well Rod I had the name right. 😉 Keep us posted as I am looking at a home mini spit unit too. Nice rig Space Craft.
  10. I never liked typing on my Cell phone because I tend to "Fat-Finger" two keys or the wrong ones way too much. I just had another post here that thought the mobile SKP Forums website on our cell phones cannot be changed back to desktop mode to use an external compact keyboard and a touch-pad or Bluetooth mouse. EZ PZ, here's how with pics. All the following is for Android phones and I used these with my old phones as well as my current Pixel 6 Pro. I have no idea what works on iPhones and iPads. To switch to desktop mode on your phone when on SKPs forums just click on the three dots on the top right of this website on your phone and a drop down menu opens. Click on "Desktop Site" and the screen changes to the same as if on a laptop or desktop. To switch back you just click on the three dots again and uncheck the box with desktop and it is back to normal. It works better with a keyboard (KB.) We were talking about finding the ignore button directly by hovering your mouse cursor over the individual's name you want to ignore. If you are on a desktop just hover your cursor over my name on the left and a menu drops down with ignore as one of three buttons on the bottom. Pics are better so here goes. My Logitech K-400+ KBs use a USB A dongle and I use a red adapter you will see in the pics. I plug in the Logitech Unifying dongle to the Female USB A end, and then plug the USB C end into my phone. Logitech K400 and adapter with the dongle on the adapter but not plugged into the phone yet. The K400 is a membrane KB The Logitech K-400+ is smaller than a full size KB and has a touch-pad instead of numbers. I actually use them for my desktops despite having four wireless desktop sets and numerous mice. But still the biggest of my portable KBs. Here it is hooked up to my cell phone and the mouse was hovered over Ray's name and the menu dropped down. Logitech K-400 Collage My Android phone will connect to more than one Bluetooth (BT) device at a time. And my Targus BT KB is a lot smaller than the K-400 KB. I also have the Microsoft Arc Mouse which connects by BT too, and both connect reliably to my phone. See below pic the gray case on the left is a custom case for the Arc mouse. The Targus uses scissor switches and types great too. Targus BT KB I also have a wired ZAGG micro USB KB that has no touch-pad. It works fine with the Microsoft BT ARC mouse too (Or any BT Mouse that does not need a receiver) as it uses the phone's USB C port for itself and it has no touch-pad. IN the pic below it is wired and plugged into the phone and the Arc mouse is connected via BT. Parts list below and sources if anyone else wants a bigger KB while using their phone or tablet for their phone: Logitech K-400 - https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Internet-Connected-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B01E0BUPW2/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1HHJUKQ36FP5B&keywords=Logitech+K400+Plus+Keyboard&qid=1685668100&s=electronics&sprefix=logitech+k400+plus+keyboard%2Celectronics%2C114&sr=1-4 ZAGG Connect wired KB Micro USB KB - https://www.ebay.com/itm/153934942286?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-213727-13078-0&mkcid=2&itemid=153934942286&targetid=4581183927179147&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=&poi=&campaignid=418233787&mkgroupid=1241348861725295&rlsatarget=pla-4581183927179147&abcId=9300542&merchantid=51291&msclkid=ff539f6b21061ba74adcfb12607aab74 Targus BT KB $6.52 used like new free shipping- https://www.amazon.com/Targus-Multi-Platform-Bluetooth-Keyboard-AKB55TT/dp/B074D9CG5M?th=1 Microsoft BT Arc Mouse $28.71 - https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Microsoft-Computer-Transmission/dp/B0BTVD4H83/ref=sr_1_10?crid=35VL1WSHG2V28&keywords=Microsoft+Arc+mouse&qid=1685669048&s=electronics&sprefix=microsoft+arc+mouse%2Celectronics%2C124&sr=1-10 Micro USB Female to Type C Male Adapter Converter Micro-B to USB-C Connector 2 pack $2.49 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/275376054423?hash=item401db12097:g:R7EAAOSwj35h2X-b&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAABAJgVUyfpWEIsXG02Sr1zaaHaijNaBIoHXS%2F%2F11cEOw7X3nYZ3HVFQPtajGAFLfRpbGdddyLLD7Uql7N5uVjCM66WQ5oy6%2F0fIurzSOanOj8cZMLiuADwf0FGYunUyZA8NOobnDkmHC%2BI4SJRRvrmJMzPeSJ6fUusg8GEwADq9L7%2BJI%2Fmc6q6UMbHZWP8NDDFjQYUAxQZld6TtkFiWMwsoTStVSiyp9479uVXrrSGwHQ09lKdJjP0M9s7mwKa8OtZhY9X7Efk7uI6RBFNifkZ6pUnV1fvH6JgRGJNjnNxmvT4ocNFA8QHTAvxMc1GFE%2BI73CWUkxSsVB15L2oQJnZaLM%3D|tkp%3ABFBM2JLgm49i USB A female to USB C male adapter $2.25 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/133948172914?hash=item1f2feeea72:g:nJ4AAOSwzNdhpAsd&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8Gnczewh9rPQ%2FQdUwdeH%2BEjXoj%2BH2g90P71NC73UvJePiXk0CvKMvwIPwRuCqf5trCK1RLxPhzEYwehJoBfOl8iqg2y0tNdc3lOyWx6bZPx76dwj9cA4FhuI5tivE88bJyjA0KnnUADJKGhY%2B%2BxJ6c%2BFzzd89gRDuM5WoWiKub8NnhOdSB2lvZx4qx8kLz%2FtN15aSaj2zo5e7HsYmkDut9S0%2FUbTMxfwqW4GMdYbqQyFhA1mgfpvSO8OW85KyYeTA3vkTKByltal7ryWqA5Tr9uTMn2D8EMmFvJwUHTSno9XDENvttzdCORD%2FoZ8juTMVg%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8LH_ZuPYg
  11. But it does work on your phone too if you are using the phone for work and want it to act like a laptop or desktop with a bigger/normal keyboard with touch-pad and mouse for more than thumb typing. This website can be switched to desktop mode easily by just clicking on the three dots at the top right, then clicking on desktop mode. I rarely use a phone for Internet as we have LTE Surface Tablets when we are on the go like yard sales and traveling and they have their own Keyboard/Covers. We have our phones and they are unlimited as well. However I do not like typing on the phone as opposed to a 10" Surface Go 2 M3 or our Surface Pro 7+ LTE 13" tablet. On the Forester our phones work well with Android auto touchscreen on the head unit screen of the Forester for Navigation, Music, and Internet. I bring along my Swiss Army tablet case that holds it all but is much smaller than a laptop case. So if I am going to use my phone for Internet on a trip I take along a USB C male to the female USB A adapter, and a Micro USB female to USB C Male adapter. Then I can change the phone to desktop mode and type like at home with: My Logitech K400 wireless USB A Dongle Keyboard which has built in touch-pad, my Targus Bluetooth keyboard and a Microsoft Arc BT wireless mouse. Or I can use a wired or dongle mouse with it since it leaves the USB C on the phone free. My Zagg Micro USB keyboard and use the Phone touchscreen, and a tiny set of adapters that adapt almost all to USB C except a micro USB female to USB C male. I have that adapter on my ZAGG cable all the time. I think a post on another thread in Internet on the road with pics might help folks who aren't into phone Keyboards.
  12. Or you can just hover your cursor over their name in a forum here and a page opens that has "Message Find Content Ignore" buttons on the bottom, click ignore and follow the prompts. In this example I hovered my cursor over your name just now in this thread, and that screen pops up, then I just clicked on "Ignore" and you are there.
  13. Excerpt: "In this article, we will take a look at Cathie Wood selling these 12 stocks in 2023. To see more such companies, go directly to Cathie Wood is Selling These 5 Stocks in 2023. After a bruising 2022, Cathie Wood’s funds slowly started to recover this year, thanks to the broader rally in the stock market amid hopes that the Federal Reserve could pause its rate-hike spree which according to Ms. Wood contributed to the collapse of regional banks. Cathie Wood in her latest quarterly commentary said that authorities were quick to blame crypto for the banking crisis. But the 67-year old hedge fund manager said the regulators should “focus on the central points of failure in the traditional banking system instead of blocking the decentralized, transparent, and auditable financial platforms that have no central points of failure.” The stock market collapse that started in 2022 amid interest rate hikes especially hammered growth investors like Cathie Wood, who invest in small, often loss-making companies promising returns far into the future. It was all rose and sunshine for ARK investors when money-lending policies were easy and economy was thriving. But as inflation started to rise and the Federal Reserve’s hawkish policies made it difficult for growth companies to borrow money, Wood’s portfolio started to take a hit. Relentless losses made it difficult for Cathie Wood to stick to her unprofitable bets for long. The net portfolio worth of ARK Innovation ETF in March 2022 stood at $13 billion. As of the end of March 2023, the ETF’s portfolio worth fell to $7.4 billion, as Cathie Wood started to sell stocks last year. According to a Bloomberg report, because of selling stocks at a loss, Wood suffered a whopping $2 billion in losses. However, the report added that these losses could lighten the tax bills Wood would receive on future capital gains. Talking to Bloomberg, Wood said that her flagship fund ARK Innovation ETF reduced its holdings to just 28 stocks from 50 stocks as it started to suffer losses after hitting its peak in February 2021. Despite the losses, ARK reiterated its optimism in its report for the first quarter of 2023. The firm said that during difficult times, consumers and businesses adopt new technologies faster than they do in normal times, causing a boom for innovative companies. Here’s what the firm said: “If we are correct in our assessment that growth, inflation, or both will surprise on the low side of expectations, scarce double-digit growth opportunities should be rewarded accordingly. The adoption of new technologies typically accelerates during tumultuous times as concerned businesses and consumers change their behavior much more rapidly than otherwise would be the case. As a result, stocks of innovation-oriented companies tend to perform better and emerge as new market leaders toward the end of a bear market. We believe the coronavirus crisis and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine have transformed the world significantly and permanently, suggesting that many innovation-driven strategies and stocks could be productive holdings during the next five to ten years.” ARK Invest said that five of its actively-managed ETFs and one indexed ETF outperformed in the first quarter relative to the broad-based global equity indexes, while one actively managed ETF and one indexed ETF underperformed." 17. You can buy into an SKP Rainbow park or Co-Op and do what you want. I don't know about waterways.
  18. No problem Deezel. I don't do online banking with my phones but do on our desktops. I do use Navigation and like you am not on anyone's radar screen. I too have nothing to hide and do not do conspiracy theories. Tell me these things: What are you using for an anti malware app? Do you do Windows updates every month? Do you open attachments or link in emails that were not expected. So this was about Dash Cams and that has been covered. Use the SD card and if you want or need it use WiFi to look through your camera when you are not there. I have a "Sentry" setting on my car which will alert me to anyone near it or touching it and lets me see through some or all of the 9 cameras it has. It is for when you park in a dicey neighborhood or on the street with no Garage. Mine is garaged and we do no dicey areas. Now we use hotels when we had to travel back to Louisiana for a funeral since we have no RV at the moment. I would use Sentry Mode in those parking lots too, but we choose motel chains for known security and cameras. It is up to you, and as long as you do strong passwords, banking online is OK once you check with your financial institution. But using the DashCam for evidence in an accident is still their best use. If you want to connect it to your phone with WiFi your phone is connected. Keeping your phone safe and what settings to change are simple. Don't load Apps not from your Phone store be that the Android Play store or the Apple store. They check for security but some still slip by. When I post the Malwarebytes Newsletter in computers forum or this forum, start reading them eventually you start to see a bigger picture. Your bank will cover some security losses but it is up to you to decide how far to take it. I used to be stricter but have loosened up since getting familiar with Android over the last 13 years or so. Lynn checks our accounts often, more than once a week, and I turn in all receipts to her so we know if something is not us. If I can be of any help I am glad to try and answer any questions, here on the forums, in email or messaging here. I even will take a call and no charge as SKPs and members of these forums I consider like family. When I started many SKPs, most were 65 when I started at 45 and are gone now. But I still try to pay it forward and pass along verifiable facts, and identify when it is my opinion. If you are worried about ID theft that is one set of rules. Credit cards and making online purchases are safe as long as you know what to look for in email and online scams. I use Malwarebytes for security on my Windows machines and our cellphones and it has been great for warning us in time when we stumble into a compromised website or one with a reputation for scams. They also make a cell phone version as does my VPN which is NORD VPN. Others may prefer others brands and I am fine with that. As well Windows Defender that's built into Windows machines is more than adequate as long as you keep up with all Windows updates. Security updates will be done monthly until 2025. Updates to Defender are included in those updates. Hope that helps.
  19. Sky, We have that same advantage and like banks many customer service reps expect folks to come hat in hand like their deigning to approve us for a loan is a great power like the great and powerful Oz. Only their curtain is the "Manager's office." I am beginning to think RV dealerships/chains pay sales folks little and do little training for plausible deniability when the rig they said could pull it can't stop it in trailers, or that the motorized camper had no carrying capacity or was uncontrollable in wind or when passed by a semi. Using Sprinter type vans for Class Bs surprised me as I have not gone shopping for a Class B used or a teardrop I could pull with my Forester. My Forester can't pull any equipped RV of any style and $100-$130k sticker prices were a shock. But I do like the fact they have the same driver protection above the chassis as passenger vehicles must have AFAIK and that is a big plus over many slab side Class As by and large. I am beginning to think RV dealerships/chains pay sales folks little and do little training for plausible deniability when the rig they said could pull it can't stop it in trailers, or that the motorized camper had no carrying capacity or was uncontrollable in wind or when passed by a semi. Are you planning to full time in it or part time? What state/region are you buying in? I would at this stage start going to RV Parks and talking to managers about any rigs they know of for sale and try a used unit out. There are lots of online buying checklists to evaluate a used rig. I also believe you did well in paying for a failed inspection. It saved you thousands in dollars and lots of stress. You could also specify what you are looking for in a classified ad offering to pay what the dealer would give in trade for a used rig. If they are not buying another RV or need to trade for tax reasons that can save a lot.
  20. Out of state still needs to charge EVs. EV owners I know have no problem paying our way. How states collect it is the reason the DMV are paid positions. I really don't care how they do it. If it is not equitable, as EVs become the majority, if Texans with EVs are treated unfairly, because big oil wants to discourage EVs by penalizing Texans who own/want to own one, then it becomes a Texas problem. Reporting the news or interesting investment opportunities doesn't mean I have their answers. I don't have a dog in that fight.😉
  21. Jim all I can say is to keep up with Windows updates on that Windows 10 unit. Since I answered you both my Win 11 and Win 10 machines work properly again with misspells. And both got out of cycle updates. I have two Windows 10 machines I am selling that will not do Windows 11 and both will be getting a version of Linux (Mint /Cinnamon likely) I will test as a dual boot since most folks are afraid of Linux, so they can switch back and forth. Linux is free and may work on your older machine. Linux has many "Lite" versions made to use less resources like for older machines. Start a thread on the computer forum here and ask about Linux versions for older machines and start with the brand, model number, processor/RAM/Hard drive or SSD and size. Windows 10 loses all security updates in 2025. However they have stopped all "Feature" updates which are improvements you may or may not have noticed. After 2025 it may be risky to run without any security updates which stop then.
