Carl, my hood clearcoat was flaking badly. I had the hood repainted with basecoat/clear last year. Charlie
Do you mind sharing your cost.

I agree. You stated fix spots peeling. Mine just continue peeling. Bunn repaint job.
-
Shops I go to all say if repaired, it will happen again. Poor paint job. Sand it down and repaint. I have got prices from 3k to 6k for just the hood.
-
Mine doing the same on just the hood.

For what it's worth, I considering RV-Armor. They come to campground or home. Flex Armor may be superior but have to leave camper and it's heavier. They also can't do the slides due to thickness.
-
Single unit is much less wiring and simple. But I want whole camper to run on inverter. Magnum just goes to 4400 watts. That is why I was researching Victron. Thanks guys.
-
Thank you. Didn't know about the transformer.
-
I been researching inverters and for the life of me, don't see where Victron outputs 2 120v legs on a single unit. Magnum does. Or am I missing something?
-
I had an 2006 Drv. It was a nice unit. We wanted a unit larger as this was a 32TK3. We found this 2003 Teton and latched on to it. And I can honestly say, Teton is a step above the DRV. Now if Teton had remained in business, one could compare them to New Horizons. But even at that , Teton didn't have the flexibility of the build NH does.
-
If you research here on this forum, you will see many problems with them. I don't need that. Now if you double towing I can see it. You would be blind to the second unit.

All I did was put a valve extender on mine to simplify adding air. Should have put metal stems in first. But really any weight on the end of a valve stem can cause a failure. I have read many comments on here about problems with TPS add on. Rather not have that.
-
But I have never had but 1 tire, rear on a dually, due to a valve extender, to go flat while driving. So I can not promote something to add to a valve stem. To each their own. Its your money. Just not me.
-
I can count on one hand the flats I have had in my life. I would not waste money in such a system. I know this is not popular on this site. I have never had a tire to blow out. Just leaked down slowly due to a nail. TPS won't prevent this.

Well we used 585kw in 29 days, month of December. That comes to 840.5 watts per hour. That's no conserving.

Works on wife's s7, on my Moto droid

Haven't even thought about aniti virus since I got my Chromebook.

Just looking at DW's Paula Deen Air fryer, 1700 watts, ouch.
-
Actually my mini splits pulls according to specs 3500ish watts at max heat which is highest. Now it will seldom run at max. We have residential fridge, older unit, came with Teton. Believe folks figure 600 watts for this but it not all the time either. Convection microwave, tv, computers, etc. I can see 8-9k on occasion. That why I considering 2 5k units. And I must confess, the more I read on the programming of the Victron multipass, the more complex this system is. Considering 2 Magnums but loosing some wattage with them. 8800 watts vs 10k watts.
-
lAlso checking prices of Multiplus vs quadro units. Quadro goes up to 10k but Multiplus goes up to 5k, 2 5k Multiplus are with $100 of the 10k Quadro. So may consider suggestion for feeding each leg with separate inverters.

Yes it is. I also been kicking around the idea of cooling the volt battery. Not that I think it's needed. A small container with antifreeze, some tubing and a small pump.
-
The bolt battery is 17kw. Steve Dixion told me runs his entire unit, mini splits and all with the volt battery. He had 3 stacked Magnums 4400

While on subject of welding lead. I plan to use a chevy volt battery complete. I am aware of the golfcart fire. going to build a metal box for mine. It is sealed in a metal box originally.
.

I was planning on #4 welding lead to controller. I have a lot of that on hand.

Thanks. You guess my thoughts on this. Knew big deal with batteries.

I am a fair painter but since selling everything and going full time no where or equipment to fix mine. Most places surprise me with what they want for just the hood. The darn comes off easy. Not all that tape to put on to protect the rest. Easy job.
