Just pulled in and set up at Lacassine RV park LA. Another HDT just pulled in

When you have last overhead done? Maybe out of ajustment.
-
Mine works and i know if it's on. Pulls back very noticeable. Don't have to have load or on grade. Mine is 2 settings.

Sadly I know people that have no skills. I do and am so thankful. My brother, 10 years older than me, retired at 48, Got fed up with the rat race he was in. Started plumbing, farming, odd jobs of anykind. Made a good living and had fun doing it. He now , in his 70s, grows peanuts, boils them and sells to public. Hires retired widowers to pick off peanuts. They are in ac too. They have a blast. He makes enough off those peanuts to carry him through the year. But he is a person that can do whatever he wants to.

My jobs are short jobs. Always has been. I can go to work and make 12k monthly. Really enjoy them too. I would hate to be stuck to a crummy job this stage of my life. I have been off more than on this year. May just continue that.
-
And in my case odds are I will live a long healthy life. Now very well know life can fool me too. So I work till 66ish and likely retire sorta. Will likely hit a few shutdowns here and there but pick time of year to work.
-
Zulu brings up one the main reasons those I know regret retiring at 62, health care. One I know has throat cancer and no insurance. Can't buy it on SS funds.
-
I can name several that regret retiring at 62. The difference in SS payments is huge. That is all they have though. I intend to work till 66ish for maximum SS payment and fact that I am in great health and active. Enjoy my profession. I could die tomorrow but my family live long productive lives. I have not abused my body and it shows. I'm working on getting my Teton energy sufficient by then and travel till I get tired of it. We been a lot of places but working and vacationing not the same.

Howdy!
Well it seems the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing over at Saferride or Escapees Roadside Assistance. I called today to signup for the new Escapees RSA as my CN will expire the 15 of May. I advised the lady there had been some confusion earlier regarding my MDT but had been in formed over the Escapees Forum that my MDT was covered if it did not have a sleeping quarters. She stated that if my MDT required a heavy duty tow truck to tow it I would have to have two separate policies one for the MDT and one for the 5er RV.
I would love to support the Escapees I’m a Lifetime member but this is rediculious and I guess I stick with Coach Net.

Interesting, heavy duty tow truck. Let's see, my hdt weighs less than my Teton. So need a hd tow truck for either.

Never seen a Sealand foot valve that worked that way. Only thedford.
-
I actually prefer the Thedford. I hate having to hold up on that foot valve. Always on socks in house and not comfortable on top of foot

Haven't heard any recommend the Boliy generators. They looked promising
-
CoPilot truckers gps only $50.00. Works great and most have a tablet much larger than a gps stand alone unit.
-
We never had a Rand McNally last 4 years. I only get about 2 out of them
-
I find that lame. I had a business years ago. I had business cards. Not expensive. Card is easy to find when you in trouble. A piece of paper not
-
I'm between jobs now. Drawing unemployment. I get less than 2k and making monthly payments also. Tight but not getting into any savings. So with everything paid I don't see a problem.
-
As long as it's 200 degrees it will make great coffee.
-
We got a new Bunn coffee maker with the insulated carafe. Not engery efficient but really great coffee with fresh ground beans
-
It's encouraged at park we on now. They don't have cable though.

I have an answer from Ed:
This hardly ever comes up but there is no problem on medium duty because they do not usually have ‘sleeping quarters’. Some HD trucks do have ‘sleeping quarters’. It has been our policy that if the vehicle has sleeping quarters it is an RV and the towable unit is also an RV so 2 policies. Only 1 RV per policy. Still this combined cost of $189/yr is far below what they would pay in the marketplace.
So, if your HDT also has a sleeper cab, you will need a second policy for it. If it does not, you are fine with a single policy.
Well that is catch 22. Mine has a sleeper but no bed. Couch in place. Top sleeper removed. That would leave all of us out that have HDTs

If I was able to participate in the Roadside Assistance Webinar this past Tuesday, 1/30, I may have had a more helpful response. As it is, maybe someone else?
Well, will it cover our HDT.
-
But will they tow my truck?
-
There is a bolt in center of springs. If it is broken it will shift.
-
Yes, it is a big one. Some one mentioned earlier about a fantastic fan in place of it. They just don't realize the size these are

Accidentally left mine on and bobtailed across town. It pure jerked me to stop. Yes, sounds like you have a problem. But, I towed 150 miles yesterday without it on. Raining and thought it would be better. Stopped just fine. But no hills to amount to anything.
