  1. I believe I remember looking out the window and seeing my husband sitting out there. Maybe he was the official Fire Builder?
  2. Eric, someone will post the coordinates once they get there. Its in the free area but with a 2 week limit. 2 weeks is enough for us Our truck is pretty full of firewood and I think Mike and Julie are filling up before they leave Tucson, but the more the better! I think there are several newbies who have never been to the Desert Bar, so you know that means we'll probably be making a trip there We have reservations in Mesa until Jan. 17th so we'll be rolling into Q on the 17th. Not sure if anyone will get there before us, but we'll all be in touch anyway.... Sue
  3. Hi there,Welcome! No dues, no nothing! Anyone is welcome to join us- If you've read the thread, you have a general idea of when we will be gathering in Quartzsite. Once the first person arrives in Q they will post the coordinates of the area they are in. If you - or anyone else, for that matter-are unfamiliar with driving in the desert, we can usually make arrangements to meet you and guide you in, since it does involve off road driving and it can get confusing. A lot of us are in AZ already, scattered around. there are a few of us in Tucson, if you are headed through that way- let us know. Sue PS where in Havasu are you staying? We will be there Feb 12-April 1 at the Island Resort
  4. For Margarita night, we will provide chips, salsa, all the makings for Quesadillas, and a boatload of margaritas and all the plates napkins etc. so all you need to bring is an appetite and an alternative drink if you don't like Margaritas. We have the grills to cook them on etc. Last year had quite an assembly line going Last year it started out as Margarita night but our Margaritas are somewhat.....um....potent.... so we decided we better feed people too. It was a great group effort We met with the Swains today and figure that the 22nd, with a rain/too windy date of the 23rd will work for most people so thats our plan. Sue
  5. we were just talking about High Tide! got the CD NOTHING beats live music , on the waterfront, outside, sunset........a drink in hand.....aaaaaaaahhhhh PS we will for sure be playing their music on Margarita night!
  6. Eric, we are somewhat flexible on the night- I am thinking we'll see when the most people will be there, but maybe around the 22 or 23rd? We'll let everyone know, for sure when it gets a little closer. We are hooking up with Mike and Julie again tomorrow so may know more... Any sense of when you will be there?
  7. INK??? we have to use INK? Ink is pretty stressful..... But yes , leaving the rest of the nights for impromptu means we can make multiple trips to Silly Als....and we have never been to the Yacht Club. We have a small bag of stuff saved to put out on the giveaway table.
  8. It was SO funny to get an email from Pam this morning with a picture of Mike! I had even told Mike and Julie about Pam and Red. Small world! As previously mentioned, The Swains and the Porters will be hosting a second Annual Margarita Night, complete with quesadillas so no one gets too drunk, lol. We'll figure out what night would be a good one once we get into town. We should be there around the 16-17th. Meantime we stopped in Yuma long enough to have dinner with Carol and Steve, and they even took us over to Mexico for lunch today! Tomorrow we move on to Desert Hot Springs. Sue
  9. so, how did they do? The Pats secured the division... playoffs, here we come !
  10. After the wind and dust last year we will be going to Plomosa Rd. this year. Sue
  11. Happy Thanksgiving from Big Bend, where we partied and pigged out all day with ShadowTracks and ReadyToRide A good time was had by all. We were glad Dave and Nancy put the pedal to the metal to get here in time! Sue
  12. Sorry it doesn't work out for you, Linda. You gave it a good shot. We will be in Q......whenever. I promised some friends I'd introduce them around..... We already have a bag of stuff for the table, so glad to hear others want to have the swap table. Paul and I are figuring on doing a Margarita and quesadilla night again. Sue
  13. aw, sorry to hear about Harley. Its a tough time. Sue
  14. we MAY get there a little earlier than that. we have some friends who have never been and we promised to meet them there and introduce them. but then, who knows. All plans are solidly in chalk. for now we head to El Paso to do the "to do"list Paul"s mom has for us.
  15. Geez we just missed you. we've been in Pinnacles National Park for 2 days. we're back in Fresno now but hope to leave here Saturday for good. Headed to Texas.
  16. We are only an hour and a half from Patterson, down here in Fresno so send us a note if we can help with anything. dozer2003 at gmail.com Sue PS Toni, glad all seems to be working. Just make sure the light doesn't blink and the oil doesn't smell burnt
  17. Wow Jeff, glad Mike and Deb happened to be nearby! Steve, congratulations on the rig! I am sure stress will be part of the process but still its exciting! Sue
  18. You guys are coming out west!? Awesome! Gonna be at Q?
  19. Lee, it's always a pleasure to read what you have to say. It's part of the reason I check in as often as I do!
  20. Yeah it took about 10 seconds after we met them to decide they were our kind of people. Just wish we could get tthem to come out west. Oh well, some day. They still hold the distinction of the only driveway we have ever overnighted in. What great fun we had squishing the rig in there, eh, Charley?
  21. Linda, the camping is at SARA park. Its just a parking lot. I have no idea if or when they will sell out, but if you figure out that you'll be there you can check it out at that point. worse case u can boondock on BLM land and v isit us for the show.
  22. Hey everyone, Last year Paul and I, plus a few others attended the Lake Havasu Winter Blast-its basically a fireworks competition/convention. We had a great time and just booked for next year, if anyone is interested in joining us, the more the merrier. Steve and Carol and Mike and Julie will be there as well. It starts Feb. 11- and goes to the morning of the 16th. Its dry camping, nothing fancy, $100 total for I think 5 nights. If you decide to come, use Porter as the Group Name so they park us together. Here's the link for the sign up form, let me know if you have issues. https://havasufof.we.../2015-fireworks Sue
