  1. Hey everyone, Last year Paul and I, plus a few others attended the Lake Havasu Winter Blast-its basically a fireworks competition/convention. We had a great time and just booked for next year, if anyone is interested in joining us, the more the merrier. Steve and Carol and Mike and Julie will be there as well. It starts Feb. 11- and goes to the morning of the 16th. Its dry camping, nothing fancy, $100 total for I think 5 nights. If you decide to come, use Porter as the Group Name so they park us together. Here's the link for the sign up form, let me know if you have issues. https://havasufof.webconnex.com/2015-fireworks Sue
  2. I keep trying to get him to come out here. Maybe I should work on Deloris instead! Can't complain though- we met them in FL a few years ago and did enjoy their company! and Charley, I thought you have all kinds of family in TN where you can store all the stuff you bought! We were in Grants Pass for an hour or so as we prepared to drive Bear Camp Rd to the coast because my husband's philosophy is "why take 2 hours to get to the coast when you can do it in 4?" We have now left OR behind and just enjoyed drinks at the Eureka CA Elks.
  3. Charley, When the heck are you two coming out west?? on second thought, Its ok....I am mad at you for making my husband jealous by buying the bike! He made sure I saw the pics of it !
  4. We are thinking Mazama campground in Crater Lake NP as a place to stay. We should be there in a few days, let us know if you make it there Jeff, sounds like you will be moving too fast for us to catch you, but we'll keep an eye on it. Jeri, I am sure you won't be surprised to hear we are staying along the coast long enough to pass thru Tillamook. Yum!! After that its straight to Springfield OR to pick up a solar panel for the camper before heading to Crater Lake. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Quarzsite. Paul and I were talking about having a repeat of our Quesadilla and Margarita night. we also just booked (egads) SIX WEEKS at a resort in Lake Havasu, starting mid February. Sue
  5. Roger and Lynn, sorry to hear about the rig trouble. where you headed from Bend? We are on our way down thru Springfield OR headed to Crater Lake for a day or so. Jeff, we'll keep an eye out for you guys as we are headed back to Fresno.
  6. We spent one night there. It wasn't too bad, but pricy. Gave us the chance to do the hike we wanted tho. Tonight we are at the Spiker RV Resort after having a great evening with Joe and Sharon
  7. just crossed the border back into the US. Feels good!we're getting out a map, but looks like we are at least somewhat in your neck of the woods. never been this way before. We will probably head to the Oak Harbor Elks tonight or tomorrow if we slow down too much Actually changed it to Deception Pass SP
  8. Joe, I am trying to convince Paul to spend a week at Olympic, doing some serious hiking (ate too much in Alaska). Whats the weather usually like in September? Paul is thinking it will be foggy and rainy and we just had the rainy summer from hell and are looking to escape it!! He is leaning towards the other side of the Cascades, but I am leaning towards the coast! Let me know what you think! Sue
  9. For those who don't do Facebook or my blog--- I sure am glad we hung around up north long enough to see this! Absolutely spectacular!!!!!! more pictures on my blog page. Staying up all night finally paid off! Sure
  10. I'll probably be taking a lot of Steves for the next few days. We are in Eh Land, hanging around for a few days....and nights.... because the Aurora Borealis should be active. now we just need to find some clear sky. Haven't seen much of that all summer. One of the rainiest on record. Boo for us. Jeri, we are thinking of spending a week hiking Olympic NP in a few weeks. Please tell me the weather in September should be good?? Who knew there would be so little hiking in Alaska?

  20. Well, we are all settled in, up here in Fresno. We're so settled in that I'm not even there anymore. I flew to Boston today and left Paul to work on his projects. We'll spend 6 weeks here helping friends and prepping the truck camper for our trip to Alaska. The best part is, our site is big enough to fit both rigs so we can work on it in the comfort of our own home, so to speak. sue
  21. Wow! Awesome ! Congratulations.... Lol.... Can't WAIT to see pictures of the new rig, but am thinking we'll see pics of a new granddaughter first!
