  2. Hey Gang, the 4th annual Margarita/Quesadilla party hosted by the Porters and Swains, is scheduled for Jan 19th with a back up day of Jan 20th! See you All soon!!
  3. Hear Ye Hear Ye! Our 4th annual Quesadilla/margarita party, hosted by the Porters and Swains, is set for January 19th with a "too windy/cold/wet " back upay of the 20th. I think most of us should be there by then. See you all soon!
  4. Yep, we had to leave our own house in order to recover from all the partying. Such a good time! warmer here in El Paso than Havasu tooo, but again, not by much.Hope to see everyone in Q very soon!
  5. If we had warmer weather I think we women would have made off with the UTV but its darn cold out there!!!
  6. hmmmmm, Dave is here....I am sure that welding sounds like fun to this bunch, but then, with the new UTV in the garage, they are fighting over who gets to drive
  7. Hey Jeff, let us know if you get tired of CA- we can't guarantee pool weather, but the hot tub is always available
  8. hope you will soon be done with fixing stuff up, and I guess those Alabamians don't know how to deal with tornadoes- not good for the blood pressure!
  9. We get annoyed when we can't see the Pats, too. Sunday we went to the Elks- its 'bring your own snacks' NFL Day. athey show all the games. We sat in front of a big screen TV and were the only ones in the room! $1.75 beer- can't beat it! And yeah, it felt like winter here in Havasu the last two days. Should be better soon.
  10. Our conversation tonight turned to Quartzsite, and here is the upshot of the conversation: Paul and I may want to be home in Havasu the 13-14 of January for the Balloon fiesta. We should be in Q on the 15th and plan on staying somewhere on Plomosa Rd until Jan. 23 when we will move to Tucson for medical appointments. Brad and Marilyn and Tom and Dianne asked me to mention that they will be plan to be in Q about the same time as us.
  11. We are here in Lake Havasu with a yard full of RV friends. The more, the merrier as we say...
  12. Our jello plan is to come before the show, maybe stay for the beginning of it. We don't need anything, maybe we'll beat the crowds to Silly Al's. We prefer Plomosa Rd. - too dusty at La Posa
  13. Yup ,Betty's is a special kind of place. You either love it or hate it. We had a blast. The day we were due to arrive she called us (never said who she was) Just said "when you gonna get here? You need to be here by 2 pm. My musician friend invited everyone to a party so we need to leave by 2. " The party was hosted by Judy Bailey, a country singer. She provided all the food, and a live concert with her new band. You just have to be open to having fun when you go to Betty's.
  14. Congrats! when we got our stuff out of storage we were wondering what we were thinking with some of it too. Still, it was great to have some of our stuff back. We are hoping to see the PNW next year too. If time allows, stop by for a while in Havasu on your way there or back
  15. we'll be back in Havasu on Wednesday-like you, it will be nice to be settled at the house for a while.
  16. Brad and Marilyn recently vacated the PNW ahead of schedule due to the weather as well.
  17. O was also going to suggest higher elevation for the colors. We just drove through the VA area and the leaves were green at lower elevations and already colored at the higher ones. We also toured the Biltmore. its actually my favorite mansion. We are in ELP for an undetermined period of time and will beeline home as soon as we are able to leave here.
  18. Having no skin in the game, (Patriots fan) it doesn't look wonderful for the Broncos, but its early in the season.... When was the last time the Chargers went to the playoffs??!
  19. We are also willing to go that route- convince her to move for the winter, keep the house for now. That way she can take her time getting rid of what she doesn't want. She keeps thinking she needs to empty the house before she moves, can't quite grasp the idea of doing it the other way around so we are still working on that.
  20. Thanks all, Conversations have been going on for quite a while. She has 'the place' picked out- 3 meals a day, her own apartment, housekeeping etc, tons of activities and 3 of her best friends already live there but her last comment was "I AM NOT READY TO MOVE" yep, in all Caps. Baby steps we say. As long as she will let us help her cull through her stuff and keep the process alive, we will be satisfied i think- for now.
  21. Well, with TB12 back on the field, we had a great outing today. We are bugging out of MA on Tuesday and beelining for El Paso where we will try to convince my mother in law that its time to give up the house. HA, good luck to us. Then its straight home! GO PATS!!!!
  22. Paid more than $100 a night in the Florida Keys, but then, it was the Florida Keys
  23. I think Brad and Marilyn are in the Tillamook area
  24. They may not be even having a service. We didn't have anything for my father in law.
