  1. This is my Anatomy of a Hike post from my blog, one of the times we hiked the Peak. Can't make it an active link on my iPad. http://soos-ontheroad.blogspot.com/2011/01/picacho-peak-state-park-az-anatomy-of.html Sue
  2. We LOVE the hike at Picacho. Its our all time favorite hike, but not for the faint of heart! Sue
  3. Well, we are finally coming up for air after an action packed fun filled 5 days with some of our fellow classless members. There sure was a lot of eating and drinking going on up here in Havasu. The 12 of us rented two boats for a day and tooled around the lake for 7 hours, and have watched fireworks shows for the last several nights. We have had an absolute blast (haha) for the last few days. Now everyone has left Havasu except us. We'll be here for at least another 6 weeks, enjoying the sunshine and the lake. I just found out (because I drove by it) that the Havasu Elks has a small campground. Quite nice! No hookup, which will be an issue pretty soon with the heat, but suggested donation is only $8 for any Elks coming thru town. that ok, Lee?
  4. Tucson Elks shows that they have a dump. ?
  5. I agree, you probably can't see them from the north end of town but you could drive closer for one evening to watch them. Ron, We will be staying in SARA Park for the duration with some others so let us know if you want to visit one evening for a closer look. Sue
  6. Comments about the game? WOOHOOO,!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS!!!!!! My home town team! Can't wait to get the T-Shirt!
  7. Don't know where that is, but Brad and Marilyn would. They don't do the forum tho. We'll be in Havasu starting next Friday, for 7 weeks. Looks like a bunch of us will be there.
  8. If I had known she was doing that, I would have had her get one for me! GO PATS!!!!!
  9. what a fun time at Italian night tonight. Never had Sangria....certainly never had it mixed with champagne! The food was awesome- thanks Carol! Ron did a great job of entertaining us with his guitar.... it was even better when he couldn't remember the words! fun!

  17. well, well, well, a good time was had by all at Silly Als. and afterwards we had our own fire back at the rigs. there was no whiskey/beer/margaritas involved at all. Steve and Carol and their new friends arrived and we had a great time getting to know them. *we* Are thinking of heading to the Desert Bar on Sat. the 24th. we have friends who want to go but they are leaving the area on the 25th so,,,,,,, Toni, its the same basic entrance we have always used. call us and we will meet you.....

  20. Mike and Julie are there but want to scout out another spot in the morning, so as soon as they are sure they are settled, they will post the location. We will be there Saturday too
  21. Yeah we heard about that....will be thinking of them, for sure. Dennis, we have a full size maul AND a chain saw
  22. One of the perks of the Mobile Suites is that it is built on the same frame as the much heavier Elite Suites, leaving MS owners with tons of CCC and a little more peace of mind that they won't be overloaded. Sue
  23. Well, I guess the best horse one and the Colts will take on my New England Patriots next week. So if I disappear while at Q next Sunday you'll all know where to find me.
  24. We are boaters from way back, which is why Havasu is on our short list. We have a jet boat in storage so it would be a great place to bring it. Not looking for the "final" home, but a winter place where we can hang out with friends and store all the toys. But then, its just as likely that we will get the heeby jeebies the minute we start looking at houses and wonder what we were thinking! Either way, we'll have fun looking! Sue
  25. Absolutely feel free to join us in Q. most of us will be Arriving around the 18-20. Margarita night ahould be on the 22nd if the weather is good. What real estate agency does your wife work for? Some of us may be interested in looking at houses in Havasu ;-) Roger, no need to bring anything to Margarita night but if Lynn WANTS to make a taco dip, no one will turn it down! We are providing chips, salsa, etc, Quesadillas and Margaritas. Had a great time last year! PS depending on how my PATS do, I May WANT to be in Phoenix for the Superbowl! Sue
