Ktuley
I am looking to join before buying an RV to establish residency and pick the brains of those in the know when getting started. Do I have to own and register an RV prior to joining as an escapee?

Lou Schneider
Nope, Escapees welcomes anyone with an interest in RVing. You're also welcome to take advantage of Escapees events like RV Boot Camp and Escapade by staying in a local hotel while attending the event. Note that joining Escapees doesn't establish residency. Severing ties with your existing state can be confusing if you're becoming a nomad and there are additional steps you need to take. These articles on the Escapees website are a good starting point.https://escapees.com/education/domicile/ Edited September 20, 2022 by Lou Schneider
Kirk W
Many people join us before they buy and that is often the smartest folks. I suggest that you start by joining the Escapees RV Club, then consider taking advantage of some of the educational opportunities that they present. Many new members choose to attent the RVer's Boot Camp before they buy to help them figure out what to select. Quote Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years......
