Inseego's Connected Devices Names

Recommended Posts

On the list of connected devices on my Inseego M2000, my laptop and my phone show up with a recognizable name.  However, the Fire Stick, my husband's phone and tablet show up as "unknown."  I've gone into my husband's phone and tablet to change the name, but the M2000 is still showing them as "unknown."  I haven't been able to find a way to change the name -- going to the my.mifi website and changing the name of the device there doesn't work because there's no way of saving the name change (that I've found, anyway) and it just goes back to saying "unknown."

While it's not a huge deal, I'd like to be able to see each individual connected device by name.  Does anyone know of a way to do this, or am I just SOL?

On a device connected to the Hotspot, open a browser and navigate to http://192.168.1.1

Click the arrow in the bottom right corner of the box that says Connected Devices.
Once on this page, click the down arrow to the right of the listed device, then chose the edit option. (This may appear as an icon of a pencil.)
Enter the desired name for the device, then save the changes.

Great Linda! Glad to help. I have missed a save or continue button a myriad of times then wore out a pair of kneecaps kicking myself in the posterior too!

Safe travels!
