Ray,IN
First item to check is free; remove 'stat from wall and clean contacts with pencil eraser. Then do the same to 'stat contacts in A/C unit. Quote 2000 Winnebago Ultimate Freedom USQ40JD, ISC 8.3 Cummins 350, Spartan MM Chassis. USA IN 1SG retired;Good Sam Life member,FMCA ." Kirk W
I have done some investigation via the internet and I found a copy of the installation and operating instructions from Dometic and also a copy of a generic Dometic A/C service manual which might be of some help. Your compressor starts up even when the A/C is turned off so does it then run constantly or how do you get it to stop? What happens when the A/C is turned on, does it seem to work OK then? It would seem as though the rotary switch, shown in the schematic on page 6 of the installation instructions, must not be working properly for power to get to the compressor when it is turned off.
