folivier
Since Dometic now owns Atwood, not sure if they have changed or will continue to produce the Atwood units. Some friends who bought the Atwoods before the buyout were very pleased with the performance and low noise. Best feature was the 2 separate fans, compressor and blower, since the blower could run continuously. So IF Dometic hasn't changed the Atwood design I'd look closely at it. Jinx & Wayne
FOLLOW UP Supply versus demand strikes again. I thank you for the thoughts about which unit to get. In the end it turned on what brand could be obtained before we left. Units with a heat pump are very hard to get. We ended up with a Coleman Mach 15 because - well - that's what was available. We were most fortunate that this unit could ship with an adapter to our old ducted Carrier system. The only other available units were non-ducted plenum units. And a plus is that our Carrier remote still runs the system. It wasn't necessary to mount a wall thermostat. It has worked well in the 95 plus/dew point 70 plus days we've had in FL this week. Who would have thought that everything would have been impacted in many of the ways that it has been as a result of the past year? I am happy for you.
