Jaydrvr
"Solar Install Rally, Jan 19 – 25, 2015, in Mayo, FL" Is there any possibility that there will be a repeat performance of this rally? I imagine we're probably not the only ones who might benefit from such an event. Thanks in advance. Jay
oldjohnt
Jay, I haven't heard of any such Rally. I'm often somewhere in Florida that time of year and my Solar is already installed but Id be glad to lend assistance unless I'm at a Tractor Show or Bluegrass Festival. I was thinking another Rally would just be the ticket for my install, but really, I just need help installing the panels and running the wiring down. If you're willing to help, I'd gladly welcome that. I'll check back with you in Jan. or Feb. Thanks again, Jay
Jack Mayer
I doubt I'll do another Rally - I was the technical advisor, but the guys did their own work. Jim Gell was the actual "host". We did it in Mayo because John Palmer was there and for those that did not want to do all of the actual work themselves, John did it. For example, the complexity of adding a subpanel. We do solar work in our shop, although we have yet to advertise it. I cannot really discuss it here, since it is commercial. But you can contact me if you wish. oldjohnt
Jay, at most RV Rallys Solar Workshops are offered. Such was true at recent Escapees and RVillage Rallys and one gentleman offered full installations. I will be glad to help with engineering advice and pull wires etc. but IM NOT GOING UP ON ANY ROOF, I'm gettin too old for that lol John T

I'm not a spring chicken myself, anymore. Not looking forward to that. I may just take Jack's advice and sub that part out. We'll see. I have a good idea of how I'm doing this, so I'm good there. Just need a couple panels with an oversized line down to a future proof MPPT controller, then I'm good. Thanks, Jay
