lump52
We are looking for our first Class A. Anyone have experience and advise on the Bay Star line of Newmar? Thanks
2gypsies
Don't know about the Bay Star but we full-timed in a Newmar for 8 years traveling constantly and had no issues with it. It's a well built RV and the company is very stable (50 years). Full-timed for 16 YearsTraveled 8 yr in a 2004 Newmar Dutch Star 40' Motorhome and 8 yr in a 33' Travel Supreme 5th Wheel
Kirk W
Welcome to the Escapee forums! Newmar has a stellar reputation for quality and I would put the Bay Star high on my list if I were shopping for a new class A today. It has very impressive specs. lump52
Thanks for the help. Going to have to find a show where we can look at them. I read where some to not seem happy with the CCC on the Bay Star Line. Any thoughts on this?
Kirk W
I suppose it just depends on the people who live in it. The Sport ranges from 2809# to 4180# so while they are probably less than many of the diesel RVs, It is possible. The bay runs from 2822# to 4862# so the high end is more but I consider these numbers reasonable for a gas chassis rig. We lived for nearly 12 years with a capacity of 2200# and while it took planning, it worked out for us. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... AKmtnpilot
w We owned a 2014 Bay Star 2901. Very nice unit BUT the Ford F-53 was a disaster. I spent well over $3000 trying to get it to handle. Traded it in with 14K miles for a Newmar Vantana LE. Now that was a beautiful rig.
