dan412 Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 Has anyone replaced the lower window rubber on a 780. I found a water leak around window. I ordered new rubber seal just wondering how hard its going to be to remove and replace the window. 2011 Volvo D13 485/1750 Eaton 13 Speed 2016 Montana 3820FK
NeverEasy Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 I replaced the rubber seal on an '01 660 upper window. Should be the same. To get it out, I put constant pressure on the window and started prying on the seal to make it follow the window. To replace, put a piece of sturdy cord (but not too big) in behind the seal all the way around. Get the lip of the seal started on one side and then use the cord to pull the seal out the rest of the way. Might sound complicated but it really was pretty easy. forxlr8n Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 Put the seal in the opening, tap it in with a rubber hammer. put soap in the window channel, start the window in at the mid point slide it back and forth a couple of times then shove it all the way in. Work the seal around the other side. This takes 2 mins to install "If you can not measure it, you can not improve it." Lord Kelvin
