Members,

Last week, we at Escapees became aware that illicit actors sent an email attempting to scam our members. This is called a "phishing" scam. These illicit actors sent emails that appeared to come from clubbusiness@escapees.com. The text of email requested that the members update their credit card information on their Paypal account.

These illicit actors only accessed a database of email addresses. We have found no evidence that they accessed any other information, such as phone numbers, physical addresses, etc. Please know that we do not store your credit card information; nor, would we send you an email requesting your credit card information. Moreover, we would never send you a request to update your credit card information at another company (i.e. Paypal.)

It is important to note that we take cyber security very seriously. As such, we are working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to supply them with information about this scam.

Lastly, the following is a link to the Department of Homeland Security website offering tools to help you protect yourself against phishing scams and other types of cyber-attacks: https://www.dhs.gov/stopthinkconnect-toolkit

Thank you,
Shawn Loring, CEO
