Ronbo
If you continue to have brake problems, buy the Direc Link brake controller. Plugs into the OBD port and reads from the computer. oscarvan
If you continue to have brake problems, buy the Direc Link brake controller. Plugs into the OBD port and reads from the computer. That is good to know. Again, it shows sending proportioned braking power to the trailer, which it didn't do before. I am cautiously optimistic. trailertraveler
...Pull the plug on the trailer..... "Check Trailer Wiring"..... hmmmm, now mind you... that is NOT the same message as the original "Check Trailer Brake Wiring" error...... but it is NEW TO ME. Plug back in, hmmm still showing brake application. Disconnect....same "Check Trailer Wiring"... On my 2008, if I unplug the trailer while the engine is still running or if the plug shifts and looses connection while driving; I get the "Check Trailer Wiring" message. It may take a little while for the message to clear if the connection is reestablished without shutting down. It has always cleared after shutdown and restart. Ironically, never seen the message before. Interesting. oscarvan
Well, 1050 miles later and we're back at the house. Trailer brakes worked..... much better that way. No more emission errors. In fact everything worked as advertised. Add the $1000 to the vacation bill and move on. oscarvan
Yes, safety is first. Still a little miffed that you can incur a $1000 repair bill to fix your brake controller.......
