steved44
ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (HUH?) Time to wake up?? Oh, the cranky old man shook the tree and all of us fell out. Hmmmm Jeri, so glad you rode out the storm with no damage. We were close to a tornado in Oklahoma last year and it's no fun that's for sure. We survived the birthday party at Paul & Sue's place and had a great time. I'm still sore from all that dancing, but living makes me sore too, so it was much better to have a good excuse. We were staying at the Elks club in Havasu and our 5 day limit ran out, so we headed out. Carol's cousin called us and wanted us to stop in Prescott while another cousin was visiting so we headed for there. Now, after another chalk change we wound up in Clarkdale at the Elks club. Nice setup here with 30A, water and a dump on premises. Windy drive yesterday, but the bus handles much better now since Redlands RV worked on it, so the wind was no problem. We did see a lot of snow along the road near Flagstaff, but closed our eyes until we got far enough south on I-17 to drive out of it. Janice, sorry your eyes didn't come out as good as you wanted. Mine are ok, but I still have to wear glasses to see up close. I tried the reading glasses, sun glasses, no glasses thing and wore myself out changing them all the time. I didn't really have a problem wearing glasses, I just had a problem wearing them and not being able to see anyway. I never did have Lasik, so I guess i'm no help. Hope they keep getting better. Well got to go explore a little. rmcf308
This was not good news for me because I also had Lasik. I won't be a happy camper either. Sure hope things improve for Janice. Before you have the surgery, get a copy of the procedure done by the Lasik doctor and provide to the surgeon. Sometimes they can use this info to change the correction lenses to enable you to see better. Janice's dr did not request the info and we didn't know it would help. She using two different strength reading glasses to read up close. BOTH at the same time!! Looks funny but I am not brave enough to post a picture. We had some storms hit close by but missed us. Two tornados touched down within 50 miles of us. Quote http://www.toadswildadventures.blogspot.com/ Just travelin' down life's highway-toot-toot! Well, well .....Janice and I had a video - message yesterday on the phone and I know what you mean about wearing double glasses. However, like you, no way would I post any picture! I'm not brave either! Hate those storms! Glad those tornados were 50 miles away. You're safer that way. We noticed the storms we had yesterday moved on up the coast and Norfolk got them today. We're flyiing up to Norfolk for a weekend visit with Justin and to celebrate his birthday. Striper
We will be staying with friends in Sequim so we will reserve from there. Right on, just let me know what boat you will be on and I can figure time to meet in Burlington from there. Sharon and I took a ride today and ended up over at the Chimacum Cafe for Lunch. (That's about 2 miles from the Evergreen SKP Co-op) After getting very filled up with food we ventured into a Specialty Lumber Yard I like to Drool my way through. Ended up bringing home some sticks of Red Oak for a project I'm working on. Now that I have almost all the materials on hand, guess it's time to finish this one up. Gee then we had to take another Ferry ride to get home. Weather was GREAT, water was FLAT, and we had a wonderful time. sandsys
It's official. Dave and I have the flu. Hack, hack, cough. Apparently not going anywhere for months did not protect me as well as a flu shot would have. Glad none of you are close enough to us to get this, Glad none of you were hurt in the storms. Sorry Janice's eye surgery did not go as well as hoped. Wishing you all well and happy. We'll get there again one of these days. palamine
Very short move today. We saw the dogs and ducks coming into the park and knew that games were about to begin. We move about 1 mile, into town and into the park. 59 days without services. Air conditioning is blasting, all the laundry is done, tanks are emptied. We will leave early in the morning. Walker Lake, Red Bluff, Sutherlin and then Florence, Oregon. We are expecting rain. Don't tell Doug I said it but it will be a nice change. Onthego
Yesterday we went to an antique tractor and engine show. Thought we'd be there an hour or so. Stayed for about 5 hours and still didn't see the whole thing. The flea market is beyond huge. Going back today to see the rest. http://www.floridaflywheelers.org/ We'll begin our month long journey to Texas tomorrow. There will be 7 or 8 stops (some along the gulf coast) to get to San Antonio. Travel safe everyone. IYQ
I changed the scenery for the week end. I'm at Caballo Lake State Park but forgot to bring my tablet. So. I won't be posting again until I get back to Deming Monday because it's too hard to post on this phone. I'm in the Riverside campground that's just of exit 59 of I 25. Lavinmh
We have spent the last 3 days getting everything moved into our new apartment. It's different that for sure. How did we ever get all this stuff into the motorhome??? I now have plenty of room in the kitchen. The bathroom has been a challenge because there are no drawers. And we discovered we are going to need some book shelves and lamps. I am really enjoying having a washer and dryer right in the apartment!! Today is another cheer comp here in Richmond so we are planning on attending that. One of the good things about being close to daughter and granddaughter. My son has purchased me a plane ticket to California so I will be spending the week before Easter with them and I will finally get to see my new granddaughter!! So excited!! Stay safe everyone...I have changed our pin on the map....so anyone coming through here....let us know. Yes, having the washer and drying inside is great! We also love living on the top floor so we have no little feet pattering overhead. And underground parking so we don't have to go out in the weather when leaving here. Our primary physicians have an attached parking garage so we can go there without ever getting wet by rain or snow. Focusing on those positives helps with the mental health. palamine
Oh oh, the roads. OMG, we can't decide which was worse the long, near-ending Extra Terrestrial Hwy Hwy 375 and then today, Hwy 6 from Susanville, the up to 6,000 feet with snow on the sides of the road, up and down. Anything but boring. Safe now watching the Oscars (yay Mike) in Red Bluff, California.
