Lavinmh
Last year in Florida we did Thanksgiving at Cracker Barrel with Lynn and Roger. Great meal for the price too. Since we will be working for at least 1/2 a day on Thanksgiving, we are heading to Cracker Barrel this year. steved44
They are having a Thanksgiving dinner at our RV park and the park is supplying the turkey. Everyone else is bringing side dishes and desserts. We are parked about 50' from the building where it is taking place so I guess we can mosey over there. They are having an RV show tomorrow, but I don't know what they are showing. We put the for sale sign on ours today, so maybe if anyone knows there is an RV show they'll come and look. I'll have to drag out the balloons and the checkered "car salesman pants" and see what I can do. We haven't quite finished cleaning it up, but after the wind today nothing around here is too clean so it shouldn't look too bad. I just remembered I had my Roadmaster Sterling hitch on the back of the old one and changed it out a while ago. Now I have to remember to add those keys to my new keys to prevent the present keys to make a problem with the old keys. Keying in on that problem, I think the key to the whole thing is keeping your keys correctly coordinated. IYQ
Steve....Steve....WAKE UP, your snoring again. And stop monKEYing with you KEYS. It was a nice day today, all be it a little cool. We held happy hour in the rec hall with the wood stove blasting out the heat. Nobody complained. I've been eating out a little to much and my blood pressure is getting way to high from all the salt hidden in restaurant food. One of my cow girls is frying up about 4 lbs of hamburger with onions and no salt for me. She puts it in 4 plastic containers so I can freeze most of it and use one container in the frig to add to my microwaved veggies. I hope she gets here with it before my belly thinks my throat is slit. Other than taking her to Wally World today I haven't done a blame thing today. Ain't RV life great. Ron and Linda
Was in Port Mansfield today. 23 miles due east of Raymondville Tx. Right along the bay. The place is infested with deer and turkeys. Cheap t-day dinner here. Just step out the back door and "POW" Gobler and venision. The deer are all tame and looking for a hand out. The locals say the bucks get a little crazy during "Rut". which is going on right now! The local café had to build a fence around the outside dining area to keep one of the big bucks out. I estimate we saw about 200 to 300 deer in everyone's yards. Neat experience. We will leave here around the 8th of Dec and head for Laughlin Air Force base. Need to renew the wifes ID card. Will stay on base at the fam-camp there. Then on to "Q". Looking forward to the education I'm going to get while there. Gonna be looking for some of you while there. [My wife is back East for the holiday] Any suggestions where to stay for 3 - 4 days? Welcome to the "Classless" forum Rick! We'll be in Laughlin, NV till the 1st and then two weeks at Lake Havasu State Park. Come on up and grab a site if you're in the neighborhood! Two good web sites that we use are: http://www.allstays.com/Campgrounds/ and http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ for locating but, perhaps some of the others could point you to some good places? BTW gang...I worked with Rick in Iowa City for 20 years. Last time I saw him was about '98. He recently got a hold of me...I can vouch that he's a great guy and doesn't pee too close to the house...LOL! Roger Quote Roger & Lynn Rempe Class of 2012 & "Class-less"! Deming has a lot of RV parks but most of them are on the main drag (Pine St.) and get a lot of I-10 and railroad noise. Low-Hi RV ranch is 4 miles south of town at the corner of Country Club and O'Kelley Rd. SE. It's well kept and very quiet at night. We are open to the public and give Passport America, Escapee's 50 percent and a few other discounts. I'm in space 12 if you should come here look me up. To get here from I-10 coming from the east, take the first exit (85). That will put you on Pine Street. Go west on Pine to the first traffic light and turn south (left) on Country Club. Go 4 miles South to O'Kelly Rd SE. Turn West (right) and the first drive on the right will put you infront of our office. If you want to put it in your GPS use 1795 O'Kelley Rd SE for the address. IYQ
I ate breakfast in town this morning then called my bank back east and started the process of closing all my accounts there. I then got my safety deposit keys packaged and went back to town to mail them. When in town I went past Jimmy's to check on my little trailer they are coming along nice but have to modify the new electric levelers a bit to get them to fit the frame on the little trailer. They also are putting a door on the outside to access the storage bins under the dinette seats. They ordered two doors and only got one in. I told them to go ahead and mount that one and keep trying to get the other door to mount later. Otherwise the trailer would have no outside storage what so ever. I'm getting ancy waiting for the trailer so I can go up to City of Rocks with my Telescope for a couple of days. Every thing else they have done looks great. When they are all done I'll design a solar system for it and order the parts. Then take it back and have them install it to my specs. He's a retired lineman from the utility company that I worked 38 years for. Spent a lot of "after work sessions" hoisting a few. If he makes it to your door, just keep in mind that those stories he'll tell ya about me are very old and probably embellished a tad. Ron and Linda
Palamine, Thank you for the invite but IYQ is right. We got the invite some time ago and will ask for the coordinates when we get there. Does anyone know a guy buy the name of "Clinton".. met him in Sam Houston State park. Said he was a member of escapees for 13 years. Is a bluegrass picker. His domicile was Indiana and his new wife's is near the Brownsville area. I think him and his present wife lost their spouses a year or two ago and remarried. He was headed toward the McAllen Tx area but that was about all the info I could get. He was in a motor home with toad. I wish I knew more Thanks. IYQ, where you at that's its so dang cold?

IYQ
IYQ, where you at that's its so dang cold? I'm in Deming NM that first blast of article air came right at us then turned east into Texas. Deming is 4500 feet in altitude so we run 5 to 10 degrees colder than the vallies of AZ. It's getting back to normal here now. They are predicting 70 degrees here this weekend. I got stuck here last January 26th going to a bunch of doctors appointments. I'm going to try to be in Q at our get together if these old bones can take it. Sometimes your browser is keeping a slightly old version of the page and showing you that, you can hit refresh to get current with the site or a slightly faster and less data needed way, you can click the Forums tab (above forums list to the left.) Once the page refreshes you can then click the "View New Content" link on the right side. From the new content page open the blue dot ahead of each topic shown (first unread post) in a new tab. Control-Click or clicking the mouse wheel both work for that. Still isn't perfect but other than opening each topic individually it seems to be the most bug free. IYQ
Happy Thanks Giving to All. I'm saying it tonight cause I probably won't be talking much tomorrow after all the food. I went out for pizza tonight to tune up for tomorrow. I spent the morning getting the bank all straitened out. So now I thing we are both on the same page. I think banks are one of the bigest crooks out there but I guess they are a little safer than under the mattress. I got the trees watered for this week and am about to put them on a two week schedule. I'll keep lengthening the time between waterings till they are down to once a month during the rest of the winter. I'm hoping for better root growth than they have been getting. All the leaves have fallen from the pecan trees around here. There are leaves in the orchards a foot deep. Reminds me of my yard back east. Don't eat too much tomorrow but no limit on the drinks LOL.
