  1. Wow! I thought they monitor you after giving blood before they let you leave. But, I've never donated so I don't really know. Glad she eventually turned out OK. Linda
  2. Lee, If you are coming to Casa Grande I am staying. I want to see you get better. And, if you feel up to it, I'd like you to look at my energy audit stuff and tell me if there's anything more I can do. The site I am in is available until Frebruary but I can't afford to stay here that long. Then I plan to go to Phoenix just long enough to see my brothers and stock up on some stuff. Then I'll head up to Parker where I can have full hookups for an average of $32 a week. I'll come to Q when everyone else will be there if I can figure out how to have enough power to do that. Right now I have to use my alternator every other day to recharge my batteries. Jeri & Terry have offered to share their generator with me if I need it. Linda Sand
  3. I hate to ask for help but am glad Jeri did it for me. I have four 95 watt solar panels and the equivalent of four 12 volt AGM batteries and I can only run one day and two nights on them. Something is wrong. Lee, if you'd be willing to come help figure out what I sure would appreciate it. I'll even promise to stay put until you get here. Linda Sand
  4. I would have if I had read this before I settled into the Benson Walmart for the night. OK. Folks. I'm in Arizona and headed through Tucson, Casa Grande, Phoenix, and Q. Who else is in my path and what are we doing about it? Linda
  5. Finally made it out of Texas. Boy, I travel slow! Am at Dreamcatcher for a couple nights. Need to spend some time reading my vehicle manual. Finally found the windshield wiper control and the hood release. No, not at the same time. I was NOT trying to use my wipers to get rid of an open hood and anyone who says otherwise lies. Linda Sand
  6. Apparently I got the itch. I packed up this morning to go to the grocery store and just kept right on going. West. Towards Arizona. May take me a month to get there, though. Linda Sand
  7. But, not all of us have your flight benefits. Linda Sand
  8. What makes you so sure we haven't met the other couple? I'd love to join you but I can't make it to Yuma by Saturday. Linda Sand
  9. I think we all have Jim's recovery on our list of things to be thankful for this season. My list is a long one this year. I hope yours is, too. Linda Sand
  10. I had my rig weighed and Chris said I should ask you what tire pressure gauge to buy. I can't find any other way to contact you. I'm currently at RE in site 71.

  11. Didn't go to Houston. Daughter got a load headed for Virginia so would be gone before I could get there. My neighbor and I are headed over to the activity center to play cribbage and sign up for Thanksgiving dinner. Linda Sand
  12. Thanks. She called from WalMart and said they're hoping to get another load out. She'll send me an email if they do. If not I may just drive down for the day. Or stay at WalMart. Linda
  13. If you don't have to be an Elk I might use that information tomorrow. Our daughter is driving to Houston this evening and if she doesn't get another load right away (OTR driving) I might drive down to see her. We have neither one seen the other's new rig. Linda Sand
  14. I ate both supper and breakfast at that Cracker Barrel but managed not to buy the sweatshirt. Got my new RV weighed today. It is underweight in every category! Wish I could say that about my body. So I can keep buying stuff. Except I don't know what I want besides a screen for the slider door and that's not going to weigh much. Guess I could go back and buy the sweatshirt. Linda Sand
  15. I am safely tucked into Rainbow's End for however long I decide to stay here. Going to have my new rig weighed tomorrow so living on batteries tonight but will plug everything in when I get back. Stocked up on groceries before I got here so I may not move for a long time. Linda Sand
  16. That's 'cause be takes them all out to dinner. Linda Sand
  17. Not my fault given the number of things I bought for the new rig. Still have a couple yet to buy, too, but waiting for the budget to catch up a bit. Linda Sand
  18. Well at least you get to sleep without worrying about waking him tonight or feeding him in the morning. Then it's back to full service waiting. Know that we are all here waiting with you. Linda Sand
  19. I've been out of touch a long time but everything is fine. I'm in Austin, TX, living in my new RV and Dave is safely back in Minnesota. I've only driven it once but it handles well and I'll be going out again in the next day or so for more punch list stuff and groceries. Hopefully, I won't get too nervous driving this big to me rig. Linda Sand
  20. Geez, I miss a couple of days and there are three pages to catch up on. OK, it may have been more than a couple of days. But, I've been busy getting ready to move into my new RV which I get possession of TOMORROW! Unfortunately, the boxes of stuff I shipped down aren't going to be here yet so it will take a few days to get moved in and stocked up. Then begins a new chapter as Dave heads back to Minnesota without me. Wonder what this chapter will look like? Linda Sand
  21. Well, I'm not on the road yet but I'm packing. We leave Friday for Texas where my van is supposed to be ready Monday. Dave will stay down there until we feel OK about me being on my own then head back home. I have planned to have no plans. I want to be free to feel my way into this solo traveling bit. Forty-five years of togetherness with the last five of it being 24/7 will make this be VERY different. So I have made NO commitments other than coming home next Spring. Linda Sand
  22. The RV Driving school has changed ownership. Not sure the BBQ will happen now that Dennis is not in charge. I may have missed my chance. Linda Sand
  23. Sandie, You do know there are wheelchair accessible fishing docks, right? Nothing keeps a good man down. Linda Sand
  24. I won't know until I actually get my new rig and spend some time in it. I haven't driven much the last four years so don't know how far I can go between naps. And I have to test my boondocking limits to see how long I can stay out. So my answer is a big MAYBE. Linda Sand
  25. The map has been playing games. Every now and then it converts a character to some foreign one with an accent or umlaut or something. Then it deletes everything after that character. This time it was IYQ's entry but Dave doesn't think it was anything IYQ actually did wrong. Except putting in coordinates that say he's in Mexico. Anyway it should all be working again. If you are having problems it's best to send Dave an email as he rarely reads Escapees now that he's housebound again. But, once notified, he usually fixes things very quickly. You can contact him directly at sandsys at gmail dot com. We both check that address at least once a day and usually more than that. On a totally different topic, I finally got a delivery date for my new RV. October 29th. Two weeks to finalize everything I need to do here and be ready to hit the road again. Linda Sand
