  1. Lee, When you don't post for a few days some of us worry about you. I understand you not wanting to have this turn into your personal blog but, please, don't stay away too long at a time. Others, We all know how easy it is to stop posting when you are gathered with others. But, those of us not with you still like to know what is going on. I don't do other social sites so Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any of those don't let me know you are still out there and doing well. So, if you are only hearing from one of our group on those sites, squeal on 'em, OK? It's OK to just say I heard from...today and they are fine. In the meantime I'm worrying a bit about Denise again so if you've seen or heard from her I'd appreciate an update. Linda
  2. Wow! Three days with no posts?! Maybe I'm not the only one living from one dose to the next of cold medicine? Linda
  3. For those who don't know, this is a county park near Phoenix. Their website, http://www.maricopa.gov/parks/buckeye/, says currently no water or electricity. Which implies sometimes there is or will be? Linda
  4. We use our TV as a big screen for viewing Netflix DVDs or streaming shows we enjoy. We are currently watching Sherlock which is a Sherlock Holmes TV series set in modern day London. It makes us both laugh and think. Linda
  5. Before I had my knee replacements ramps were less painful than steps. But handrails were very important and I haven't seen any portable ramps that come with handrails. After my knee replacements steps no longer hurt but I still prefer to have handrails. Linda Sand
  6. Wow! You were not at fault but they aren't making it good?!!! This life has really not been fair to you any which way. Years ago we were forced to sell a mobile home for less than we owed on it so we do understand your pain. Hopefully you will be able to get better apartment than we were able to get at that time. We did eventually get out of the hole and I'm sure you will too but life can be rough in the meantime. Wishing you good fortune in the future; it's definitely your turn. Linda
  7. Then there was the time we were at Rainbow Plantation when people were hooking up their trucks to their 5th wheels to act as anchors. We drove up to Montgomery ahead of that storm. Turns out a hurricane doesn't have to come very close to have major winds hit you. We even had winds from an East Coast hurricane come through the fairgrounds where we were in Celina, Ohio, for a Gypsy Journal Gathering. I never watched weather forecasts so much as while we were fulltiming. Linda
  8. So it must have been the year before you joined us that we had 70 mph gusts. We not only pulled in our slide we repositioned during the night when the wind changed direction so we would be headed into it again. Broadside is NOT fun. Glad you are OK. Linda
  9. It rained here today. Yup, warmed up enough to rain. Won't last, though. I think today was our traditional January thaw. Linda
  10. There's a Yahoo group called Skinny Winnies that are View/Navion owners. Lots of them have installed HWH levelers but the ones I know all went to the factory for installation. I have not been following that group for a few years now so I don't know what they think of other installers. If you check out that group tell them I said, "Hi." Linda
  11. Dang! This life has not always been good to you two! I hope the repairs are done quickly and well. Linda
  12. I just received this list of activities in the Parker/Lake Havasu area and thought some of you might be interested: Jan. 30th - Lake Havasu City, AZ Grand Canyon Rodeo and Lil Delbert Days at Sara Park Do you like a rodeo or are you a cowboy or cowgirl? This is your kinda place! National Bass West Open Tournament - If you prefer fishing over horses. Feb. 2nd - Feb 5th - Parker, AZ Parker 425 – Best in the Desert off road race. There is not a bigger race in the area. Lake Havasu City at Sara Park “Snowbird Appreciation Day” at the Havasu Speedway. Feb. 11th - Feb. 14th - Lake Havasu City, AZ at Sara Park “Winter Pyrotechnics Show” Fireworks distributors and manufacturers show off their latest products. Watch from the park or go out in the desert to watch the display. It is amazing. The food is hot, the beer cold and the music is great. What could be better?
  13. Not bad orders. I think I could get used to Pensacola. Linda
  14. Fireside with friends--a known healing element. Glad you are able to partake of it. Linda Dang! I always fear drivers who aren't keeping a consistent speed because that means they aren't paying enough attention. Glad you are OK! Sorry about the delay, though. Linda
  15. Yellow or green says sinus infection. Clear is just runny nose. You probably need an antibiotic to get clear of that yellow mucus. Linda
  16. I sure do enjoy your take on things. "blue tip wrench" "Shock test" "evil spirits" Linda
  17. What I remember about Redding RV/Truck shop is parking in the street, dropping our levelers, and having one go down so far down into the gutter that it broke. Watching their technician laying in the street trying to catch the leaking hydraulic fluid was interesting but not something I'm in a hurry to repeat. I hope your service is error free. Linda
  18. Not sure about the shuffle board but I think Emerald Cove has all the rest plus mini golf and bingo. And meals. I miss staying there. Linda
  19. I only watch football when I can be in the stands where I yell and scream and make a fool of myself. I guess I could do that at home but that wouldn't embarrass Dave nearly as much. Linda
  20. For a change we are luckier than those of you way south. We got our first snow cover the day after Christmas and it's so little the swamp grasses are sticking up through it. Our first blizzard warning just went into effect, though, so I may be singing a different tune by this time tomorrow. We stocked up on groceries today and our building turned on the furnaces that heat the hallways for the first time this season. They turned out to be so dusty our fire alarms went off about noon. Fortunately, they figured out the source before we had to evacuate into the cold. As Freddie always says, "Life is good!" Linda
  21. As my sister-in-law's card says, "Happy Holy Days." Linda
  22. I like your term long timers for your situation. It is very clear. If you still lived in your RV while parked at your S&B I would call you full timers but since you move into your house for those few months, I like long timers. As I said, that term makes it very clear how you live. Linda Sand
  23. And may next year be your best ever! Linda
  24. Ah, nothing like Dave's homemade pumpkin pie to say it's holiday time. I hope everyone is enjoying theirs. Linda
