  1. Denise has not posted to her blog since July 5th. Says she seems to have lost interest in blogging. I hope she's OK. I don't think she ever got her full strength back after that one bad attack in Q several years ago. If anyone knows anything better, please, let us all know. Linda
  2. In our apartment we keep a box of Kleenex on the back of the toilet. Kleenex and TP can substitute for one another in case of emergency. Of course I alway have hankies in my pocket, too, but they don't substitute for TP. Linda
  3. We stayed in Pie Town one night. I remember having trouble deciding what was a road vs what was a drive though campsite. I don't remember about connectivity, though. Linda Sand
  4. That reminds of the story of Delcie's first visit to the magic circle. She complained the guy's shirt was too long. Oh, the stories this group has accumulated. I miss you all. Linda
  5. So, Carol's new nickname is Shrimp? Linda
  6. For those who want more of the story: http://sandcastle.sandsys.org/2011/01/sand-trap/ BTW, Mike didn't get even as far as we did down that road driving his 4-wheel drive truck. Lee had to pull him out. I sure do appreciate all the folks that came with their pieces of lumber to loan to us. Not sure Coach Net would have made it that far, either. Linda
  7. And, apparently, being the owner of the map. Dave hasn't moved in years and he rarely comments unless it is a question about the map. Now I'm not moving either but, at least, I still comment here now and then. Dave reminded me yesterday that he developed the map in 2008 when we first met Steve & Carol and Boogity at the Firelake Grand Casino. How many of you remember Boogity? Or have spent time at that casino after Steve gave it such a good plug? How many of you know that's where the ice cream machine hides? Or the story of the shotgun? What a history this group has. I miss being part of the history now in the making. Linda
  8. Well, the sleeping without sweating did not work even with a fan blowing right on me. Too much mass in the building holding heat, I suspect. Then this morning the office said the corporate A/C man was already booked all day today. They brought us a box fan, at our request, to help until he can come tomorrow so probably no decent sleep again tonight. I hope they replace our A/C this time instead of just patching it again. Said they have seven on their replacement list already. This building is at an age when many things are starting to go. But, they are now making all residents sign a no smoking agreement so perhaps we will have fewer fire alarms now. And our rent went up 4% this year so I'm hoping to get some value from that. (It has gone up every year.) They did replace a stained bathroom floor for us that I've been asking for since we moved in--I hope that's not all they do for our constantly increasing rent. They are doing some new landscaping but that doesn't make living here worth more to me. Especially since they let the good housekeeper go so the hallways/elevators don't look as good as they used to do. Apparently its all about curb appeal now? Linda
  9. We're having 80s inside today. Our A/C broke a couple of days ago. On a holiday weekend, of course. At least it is supposed to cool down into the 60s tonight--I'm looking forward to sleeping without sweating. Linda
  10. That sounds like a good place with good people. Glad you got to join them for at least a bit. May be time for you to start another square dance class? Linda
  11. Lee doesn't know where it is because Steve hid it with the ice cream machine. Linda
  12. Hey, when you are not traveling you have to hunt for things to say. You should know that. Linda
  13. I'm in the mood to pick a nit and Steve got elected. The above comment belongs in the Department of Redundancy Department. 0300 only happens in the AM. Linda
  14. I don't know, you guys are starting to make me think having to give up RVing wasn't such a bad thing. Of course I keep right on looking at websites and thinking about what I want in my next rig. A powered dump switch instead of a cable pull, for sure. Linda
  15. Guy who bought our bookcase headboard broke the mirror because he wouldn't wait for help to dismantle it. Then he wanted a discount because the mirror was broken. Say what?!!! Linda
  16. Good to have a place to go to get your head screwed on straight. Makes for a crick in the neck to have it on sideways. Unless you have one of those couches that don't face the TV, then having your head on crooked can be a good thing. Linda
  17. You still calling yourselves full-timers? Linda
  18. Born mid-summer with a Spring and Christmas name. Someone confused here? Have I been around Lee too much? Congratulations, anyway. Linda
  19. Congratulations! Wish I was going to be there to hear the story. Linda
  20. Bet, if you asked questions they'd say, "Classified." Linda
  21. Everyone watch out; Steve is getting ready to fire up the DeLorean! Linda
  22. I doubt it. I expect all those in Arizona to find time to come visit you. Wish we were going to be among them. Linda
