Glad you guys are going to be on the move this winter. We will go to Q but will probably not get there until the 17th or 18th so save us a spot!! This is what is keeping us going through Amazon. The light at the end of the tunnel and our getting to see all our friends this year!!

A lot of it depends on when we leave Amazon. We will need at least 2 weeks in Livingston to get things done there before we head West. Not sure if we would get there before the 16th. We do like Yuma better than Q so I guess that would be our vote. Really just want to see everyone again. Doesn't really matter where. Its the people not the place!

We are on the move. Left Virginia yesterday and are heading toward Kansas. We stopped last night at Tamarack Travel Center and just wanted everyone to know that if you are traveling west on 64, this stop in Beckley West Virginia was the quietest place we have ever spent the night. No one here with us.

We certainly know how you feel. Does your hot water heater work on electric and gas? We had an issue when ours was replaced last summer. They hooked the wires for electric side of the water heater to our engine batteries instead of the house batteries. Ended up completely draining the batteries, so had to replace them. Lucky we figured it out before we drained those batteries also. Let us know when you find that sugar daddy. We'll get one too.

Sue, where do you plan to stay in Parker? We stay at Emerald Cove which is on the CA side from Parker. If you guys are planning to Kayak in the river at Parker, I hope you have strong arms. We have always thought that the current there runs pretty fast. Does the $40 you pay work for either the North or South side of LaPosa?

We probably won't get to the area until around the start of the RV show on January 18th. So if everyone wants to go to Q first just let us know where. We just like the area where we can dump and get water. Does La Posa North have a dump site also or is it just La Posa South?

Hopefully it will be sometime in February.

Thanks Steve, we are going to try to renew our Elks membership when we get to California. We will give it a year and see how much we use it. Seattle would work, but they live in Tacoma so it would work better.

Date sounds good to us. Have we decided it will be Yuma (Pilot Knob)? Don't think you will have any problem at Emerald Cove. I have never known it to be full. Ps...What's the Elks like in Tacoma? Grandson graduates next June. Thinking of places to stay close by.

It really doesn't matter to us. We do like the Yuma area so that would be okay with us. We should be getting to the area around the 18th of January. We will be making reservations for Emerald Cove (our home park) for Feb 1 and will be there for 5 weeks.

Okay so it looks like everyone is wanting to go to the RV show in Q, so Ed and I will figure on being in that area by January 17th. Just let us know where to meet. We want to go into Emerald Cove, our membership park, around Feb 1st. That will give us 5 weeks there and then on to the TT trails park at Soledad Canyon to be near son and dil for St Patty's Day. They do a big (30 or more) for Corned beef and cabbage. We will be going back to Emerald Cove before we start the trek north. Want to be in Tacoma WAsh around the end of May, first of June for grandson's graduation for HS.

I agree with Steve and would really like the Parker area. If we meet in January, we would miss the dirt bike races.

Whats the timeline for the reunion next January? Trying to figure out how much time we will have between ending at Amazon and getting there. Any more thoughts on a location?

We had a long drive today. We moved over to the Day Use park at North Bend. Still in Boydton...moved about 6 miles! We will miss seeing the deer...she and her babies came to say good bye today. Start our work tomorrow for 4 days...then we will have 4 days off and will be able to finish setting up and we will post pics on the blog later this week. We are really enjoying the work here. We have always loved Corp of Engineer parks.

I discovered Mobile Banking.....download the app for Wells Fargo and all you need to do is take a picture of the front then the back of the check and send. I love it. Limit of $1,000 a day deposit so if any of them are over that amount you have to go to the bank anyway. But Mobile banking is great!

How do you guys get rid of the ticks? I have never had to worry about them but Ed had one on his back. (He was working on a leak on our water heater) I used alchol and then tweezers to pull it out. But he still has what looks like a mosquito bite where it was.

So Steve, would there be enough room for everyone in that area? I think they are talking about January sometime.

I think that there is some BLM land before you get into Parker from Q. Not sure how to get there and we would have to make sure it is not the week of the dirt buggy race. Steve...didn't you go to that race one year?

We are doing the Amazon thing again in Kansas but won't be staying over. Should finish there just before Christmas. Want to stop in Dallas to see the Bush Library. Should be in Livingston around Xmas. If we can get the drs in between the holidays and baring no complications, we should be able to leave Livingston around the first part of January. It takes us about a week to get to Arizona (baring to wind storms) with a 2 night stay in Deming. I do think the Sidewinder BLM would work better. Hopefully we can get where we were the first year. Just let us know and we will make every effort to be there! Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

We will be out west this coming winter. More toward the mid to end of Jan would work for us. We will be spending the marjority of our time in Parker at Emerald Cove, but would scoot down to Yuma if thats where everyone will be. Looking forward to finally getting back west and seeing everyone.

We stayed at Fiherman's Corner COE about 4 yrs ago. Really liked all the parks along the Mississippi. Ed is waiting for the 'old farts' national fishing license also!!

What is it with those Tennessee drivers!!!! We were on the I 40 headed to Jackson from Nashville when we had our accident. You should probably rent a car for a while so you can get everything done. We didn't but we had the motorhome to drive while our car was getting fixed.

Same thing happened to us right after we left New Orleans. I do all my banking on line and check my credit card bills at least twice a week. I noticed one charge that I disputed and a couple days later there was about $125 dollars in internet charges. Called fraud division and they cancelled the card and sent another overnight to where we are now working. I think ours happened when we were at the Hard Rock in New Orleans. When she took our card to the back, I think she copied it. All the charges were done over the internet and most times they ask for those numbers on the back. Don't know if I will ever know for sure.

It should not effect you staying that long. Just keep renewing the stay and play. It's when you pay for 15 days and stay for 20. Pretty good deal if you know you are staying for that long. I think it works at any of the Escapee parks but not the SKP parks.
