  1. Good one Joe. We are still in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Got the windshield in yesterday, however we are still having some problems with the starting of the motorhome again. Have not had any problems until last Wednesday. We were supposed to get the windshield done and went to start the motorhome and it did the same as before. We called a mobile mechanic and he came and changed the fuel filter. By that time it was raining pretty hard so we didn't get the windshield done. Thursday, we started early trying to start it and again, it wouldn't start. To make a long story short, we are now sitting in a Cat dealer waiting for an appointment for Monday am. For once, we are hoping it won't start. We went back out to the fairgrounds today and watched to 4H group do some barrel racing, pole racing and flag. We watched the senior group do a little working cow. These kids train all year for these events. Today we sat with a woman whose daughter was in the junior class. She works for BLM and she was talking to us about the wild mustangs. They have a viewing center here in town, so tomorrow we may go out there. It's actually the holding area for the adoption center. You can adopt these mustangs! Almost makes us want another sticks and bricks. Almost!! But we do love horses.
  2. Well it looks like the glass for the windshield will be in tomorrow sometime. Now lets pray that it doesn't rain tomorrow afternoon so they can install it. Its rained here all day today. He recommends that we wait 12 hours to leave, so if all goes well, we should be able to leave here Thursday morning. Since we only have 11 days before our reservations in South Dakota, its going to be a quick trip to Cody, Little Big Horn and Devils Tower.
  3. Can't commit yet to any rally's. Not sure what our plans are yet. I know we will be in Q for the short get together and plan to go to Los Angeles. Might need to be back east by sometime in April. We have gotten 2 out of 3 things done. New batteries, radiator all clean. Not too much of a hit to the savings, but will still be doing another year at Amazon to replenish it. Now just waiting on the windshield repair. Looks like it will be another 4 days at least before that comes in. We are in town for the Sweetwater County fair so we are going out to check that out. May take a ride out to Flaming Gorge Recreation area. Finding little things to do. Going through closets because there is a Good will here so we are making some donations.. We will just stay right here at Walmart until they kick us out!!
  4. We went to Nick Russell's rally the very first year and we were disappointed. So we haven't thought much about going to another. Our plans next winter are all up in the air right now. Steve, we had the fuel filter changed when we were in Q in Jan. Had the oil changed on the way in but they didn't have the fuel filter so we did it when we first got to Q. Mentioned it today when we were in the freightliner place getting the radiator serviced. He just thought it was just a hic cup since we haven't had any problem since. Have to go back in tomorrow for a replacement part they had to order. So far we are $680 lighter for the new batteries. The windshield should only be $100, that's our deducible.
  5. Well, we made it to Rock Springs, Wy. This was our original plan because we needed to get new house batteries. Ours are 6 years old and are starting to give us problems. I found a battery store here in Rock Springs that sells the good deep cycle batteries like we have now. So once we got the motorhome started (and it never gave us any other problem so Lee I think you might have been right about the flooding of the engine) we have not had any other problem with that. However, Sandie remember when we had the problem in Helena with overheating? Well it wasn't just the fluids because we are still having the problem, so we found a freightliner place here and we have an appointment tomorrow at 7:30am to have that fixed. He seems to think it might be just a dirty radiator and maybe a thermostat. Then if that isn't enough.....we had a rock hit our windshield and it cracked. An inch lower and it would have missed totally. So while we are here, we will also get that fixed, I hope. So here we sit at Walmart. Glad to be in a fairly big town to get all these things fixed.
  6. First time for everything I guess. Here we sit waiting for a tow truck because our motorhome won't start. Engine turns over, but will not stay running. Stalls out and black smoke comes from the exhaust. We are in Thayne Wyoming (middle of no where). Coach net has found a repair place in Idaho Falls and we are waiting for a tow truck out of Jackson. Praying it isn't to expensive. Maybe something simple. oh well, trying to keep busy while waiting. At least we are not on the side of the road somewhere.
  7. Grizzly is very nice. Upscale resort. Looked like there was ample room between sites. Make sure you get most of your groceries before arriving. Only a couple of very small groceries in town.
  8. If anyone is heading toward West Yellowstone, we just left 7 days at Bakers Hole Campground. 50 amp only site for $14.00 a night with a golden age pass. There is a park in town, Grizzly RV Park that you can dump and get water for $6.00. Great campsite. No reservations. They have about 25 sites that are electric the others are dry. Its about 6 miles outside West Yellowstone north on 191. Just thought I would share.
  9. There are always those who think the rules don't apply to them! So sorry you had to go through that Toni. We aren't working this summer but we have confronted a lot of people who walk through our sites and those who have there dogs off lease with no doggie bags.
  10. We had a wonderful time visiting with Jim and Sandie Dixon. They showed us around Helena on Thursday and Friday Jim and Ed spent ALL day on the lake fishing. Thank you Jim, Ed had a blast! Yesterday we had them over for dinner. Of course we talked about everyone. We are leaving this morning and heading toward West Yellowstone. Haven't quite decided yet, may stop in Ennis for a night or two to visit Virginia City/Nevada City Montana. You know that chalk!
  11. Today is our last day here in Spokane. Meeting a friend for lunch today. Tomorrow we are heading to Kalispell, Montana and Glacier National Park.
  12. Had the strangest thing happen to us today. We left this morning around 10 and when we arrived home around 2 we found our generator running!!!. We were plugged into the electric and have never had this happen before. Pretty scary. No damage to the electric bush. Anyone ever have this happen???
  13. We don't even try to cook steaks anymore. First they are so expensive to buy and so hard to get right. I usually just get steak when we go out to a steak house. And then its usually a filet. I have only had a really bad one once and when I complained (or rather Ed did) they did adjust our bill accordingly. Hope they at least did that for you Lee. Having had a great time in Washington state, but it will soon be time to move on. One more trip to Seattle, and hopefully a golf day and we will move on to Idaho.
  14. We had a great day today with Terry, Jeri and Joe Spiker. We rode the ferry over through the San Juan Islands to Friday Harbor and had lunch with them. Not the best lunch but any meal with friends is always a joy. Jeri, don't believe anything Joe tells you. You'd have been proud of us. No politics on the ferry back!! Dianne, we are planning on stopping by to see you. It will probably be toward the end of July sometime. Hope it warms up too. After spending almost a month in the Pacific Northwest, we are looking forward to some warmer weather.
  15. Carol, If you have never driven on 101 up through California and Oregon, you should give it a try. Its a beautiful drive however some of it are just 2 lanes roads and they can be very curvy. We stayed at Casinos in Fortuna CA and Florence Or.
  16. Those are the roads that mapquest had given us coming out of Kalispell. Good to know that the roads will be okay. I do have Devils Elbow on the list also so between the two we should be okay. Not sure if karaoke is on the list of things to do, but I know that Ed would love to go fishing with Jim. Looking forward to seeing you too.
  17. Thanks Sandie, We will be coming down from Kalispell. It about 200 miles. We should be there around noon I hope. Just let me know any other options.
  18. IYQ that is good news indeed. Sometimes those FNP's are better than any doctor.
  19. After a few problems, we are now back on the forum. Jeri have you looked at the weather for your kayak trip? Weather doesn't seem very warm on Thursday, but no rain so our plans are on to meet you in Friday Harbor. It's rained here for the past few days. Other than our ferry ride through the San Juans on Thursday, we plan a sightseeing tour through Seattle and another trip to Snoqualmie Falls. Should be quite a bit a water in them now. We will leave this area on the 26th of June and start our trip east. Sandie, we should be in the Helena area July 3rd. Hope we don't run into problems getting a spot at White Sandy Beach. They don't take reservations.
  20. The rain hasn't sent anyone home from Seaside. It is still packed.
  21. We stayed at Thompson COE park back in July of 2009 and had a beautiful site but couldn't enjoy it because of the may flies. They would swarm the minute you went outside. Covered the motorhome. After spending 3 nights at the casino in Q cities, we went to Fishermans Corner COE and loved that one too.
  22. Thank you Lee. And the roses are a very thoughtful thing to do. I am sure they will all be thrilled.
  23. We are back in the world of internet and cell phones!! Just spent 7 days up in the mountains visiting Yosemite. We went up the east side in Groveland. Would not do that again. Yosemite is beautiful (pictures are on my blog) but being without cell phones and internet was driving me nuts. We are now at the Tracy Elks. Full hook ups $20 per night.
  24. We had a good time yesterday meeting up with Terry and Jeri. Went to dinner at Golden Corral here in Bakersfield. Talked a lot about a lot of things. (Everyone) Then they snuck away this morning. Never heard a thing.
