  1. Thanks Lee, I am sure there is a silver lining in all of this. Saw a motorhome yesterday with the whole back end burnt to a crisp. At least we have all of our stuff! Always someone worse off than that. My name was not on the motorhome, so unless the finance company will work with us, he will declare bankruptcy. Everyone stay safe out there. Linda and Ed
  2. Well folks, as of today we are homeless. They have totaled the motorhome. Funny how your life can change in a matter of 5 minutes. We are going to be short about $20,000 on the loan so don't know what will happen there. Can't get blood out of a turnip!! We are headed to Virginia and daughters in Chesterfield. We will be looking for an apt. We may be looking at moving again next winter to somewhere in Arizona or Nevada. Possibly the Laughlin area. This has been a stressful 3 weeks and now that it is settled we are okay. Just a little FYI, found out they have something called GAP insurance to cover the difference between the value and loan balance. If any of you out there are in this situation, you might want to check it out. Wish we had known. Everyone take care and please be safe out there. Linda and Ed
  3. check my facebook page. Final estimate for repairs $39, 600.
  4. Those heading west remember to stop and see us. Jeri, we are not far from the Colorado River TT park. Still no news on a final estimate. Did you know that when a trucker is hauling a load the insurance coverage is different?? Just found that out this morning, so that is another delay. Estimate so far well close to $20,000!! He brought a tire guy over today to see about getting the front left tire off. Dragging along the concrete barrier has worn down the lugs and the posts.
  5. You know, its just a reflex to chase them down. She said she didn't know she hit us. Looking back we went across 3 lanes of traffic with no mirror. We were very lucky. Been awake since early this am just thinking of the possible things that could have happened. Guess that's normal. When will that stop? How long will it take?
  6. Sounds good Paul, I know we will still be here.
  7. We have just had another first. While driving 10 west leaving Houston, we had a run in with an 18 wheeler. We were traveling in the far left lane (Ed was trying to pass this truck that was slowing down and speeding up). We were entering construction with a small lane shift, she didn't shift!! We were squished between the trailer and the concrete barrier. We literally chased her down (yes it was a woman truck driver!) Got her to get off at a Loves Truck stop where we proceeded to call the police. At first the policeman said it was our fault because the lane ended. (He thought it happened further away) We got him to follow us to where it happened and you could clearly see that the signs said lane shifting ahead. He then amended his report and said she will be sighted for failure to stay in her lane. Good news is, we were right up from Holiday World RV, we were able to drive here. We have a FHU site while we await the estimate, Winnebago to fabricate the needed panels for repair and the actual fix. Bad news, it looks to be about 6 weeks before I will get to hold my new granddaughter. I have posted pics on FB is anyone wants to see them.
  8. Merry Christmas to everyone. We have arrived at Rainbows End and are relaxing after 11 weeks at Amazon. Our Amazon facility has undergone some changes this year. They have transitioned the facility to be all clothing. Clothing is stored in cardboard drawers. So easy, it like putting clothes away in a dresser. Other than the hours and just being tired, our bodies didn't get as sore as the past. It was a good time. We always enjoy the Campbellsville area and the people we work with. We will be here a couple of weeks doing our doctors appointments and then heading west. Everyone be safe and we will see you when we see you!!
  9. Eric, We are right down the road in Campbellsville, working at Amazon.com, We have done the Heavenly Hill and Makers Mark. Last week we did Jim Beam. We got there at 11:30 and the next tour available was at 2. They would have charged us for it. But we did do a tasting though and that didn't cost anything. If you have time, there is also a Cooperage (barrel making) in Lebanon. We have not been there yet, but its on our list. They are not open on weekends and their tours are at 9:30 or 1:00.
  10. We won't be in Q this year. Going to be blowing right by on the way to LA. Have a new granddaughter there and she will be close to 6 months old before I get to love and squeeze on her.
  11. Not sure what kind of refridge you have. We have a Norcold and you can't just replace the seals. We checked into it a couple of years ago. You need to replace the whole door.
  12. I use Internet Explorer and I couldn't see the pins a while ago. Now I can. I swear my drone didn't do it!!!!
  13. Don't delete us. We are still here. I hover. Like an Amazon drone!! LOL
  14. That's the Amazon way Lee. We are working hard here at Amazon making sure you get your leveling ramps right on time!!!!
  15. Thanks Lee for the timetable. Guess we won't be seeing it at all.Lots of cloud cover here through tonight. We are in bed anyway around 8pm since we are up at 3:30.
  16. If our cloud cover goes away, we may see the eclipse here in Kentucky. We get up to get ready for work about 3:30am so I'll run out and check it out. We are on EST so that would be about the right time I think.
  17. Yes I know that it changed to Pocahontas State park but it still says I am in Williamsburg. There is no pin to move on the map from Williamsburg to Chesterfield. I refresh it every time I go to the page because that's the only way I can see pictures.
  18. Is anyone else having a problem with the class map??? I can't see any pins. I was able to change my location to Pocahontas State Park but it still says I am in Williamsburg . Can't get it to change to Chesterfield.
  19. We get to move our peg today. Moving a little further west to Pocahontas State Park for a few days. I'll stay there while Ed gets on a plane to fly to California. His sister had been ill and he was hoping that she would hold on until he was able to get there, but that didn't work out. So the family is planning a memorial service and he will be there for that. Then it will be on the Amazon.
  20. We won't be in Q this year. Going directly to So Cal to see that new grandbaby!!! We MIGHT be in Parker, AZ for a couple of weeks in March. Not sure yet. I just know we will be going between the Thousand Trails park in Acton, CA and the Elks club in Granada Hills, CA for a month or so.
  21. We have a new granddaughter!!! Little April Noel arrived this afternoon weighing in at 8 lbs 13 oz and 20 1/4 inches long. She shares her birthday with 2 other family members and was born under a blue moon!! Only bad thing.......we have to wait until January before we get to meet her
  22. No he had the progressive and just couldn't get the head and eye movement down. We also have never had any problem with the transition lenses getting dark enough. Only time we ever have a problem is when we are driving directly into the sun and we carry a set of HD wrap around glasses for use if we need them.
  23. Ed is used to having 2 pairs of classes. He tried bifocals a long time ago and could never get used to them. He can't wait to get this other eye done. As it is now he's using his new eye (left) for distance and his right eye for reading!!
