  5. http://www.archerinspired.com/blog/2016/10/4/holm-wedding-inspired-93016 This is a link to my granddaughters wedding blog done by her photographer. It was at a venue in Bakersfield. Never knew Bakersfield could be so nice. Robin and his friends built the arch.
  6. Its been rainy here in Virginia for the past week. Guess the gods are trying to make up for all the heat and humidity over the summer. I flew to California last week for granddaughters wedding. It was beautiful in California until the day we left and it hit 106 in LA. That usually doesn't happen, the Santa Ana winds were carrying the heat from the desert. Hope you all have a great winter wish we could be there.
  7. We are also so happy for you Lee. Sounds like, with the help of the group there in Deming, you are in good hands. Always better to make your own decisions. Sorry your niece turned out like that. We are doing well in Virginia. Our granddaughter in graduating from elementary school in June. My brother is coming over from Germany in July. Lots of things going on. May try to make a trip to Niagara Falls in August. I've been there but Ed never has. Also thinking of taking Savannah up to Mt Vernon. That would be a day trip. Everyone stay safe and away from those trucks!!
  8. All of the hotels we stayed in while moving back to Virginia had no bedspreads. Also a lot of them are doing away with carpet too.
  9. I have been taking Benadryl since mid march. It begins here in Virginia with the Bradford Pear trees with their white flowers. Now it the pine trees and the yellow pollen everywhere! Should only last another couple of weeks or so. But I spend a fortune on Kleenex all year round. Lee, we are glad you seem to be improving. You know you are special to all of us!!!
  10. Our thoughts and prayers are with you also Lee. Please keep us all posted on you plans.
  11. Hello everyone, I finally got home late Tuesday night from Los Angeles. I had an wonderful time with my son, DIL and of course the newest addition to our family, little April Noel. It was a wonderful trip, perfect weather. We went to the Getty Museum, somewhere I had never been. I used to drive by it everyday while they were building it. The views from there are beautiful. East you can see LA and west on a clear day you can see Santa Monica. The artwork was amazing. Everyone stay safe out there. Glad Carol is recovering from her surgery. If anyone want to see a pic of April, you'll have to let me know how to do it.
  12. So do I. Off to the airport....so excited to see little April!!!
  13. I'm sure I will be taking a bunch! Have to figure out how to put them on the forum.
  14. Lets throw this back up to the top. I am getting very excited because I leave next Monday for a trip to CA. FINALLY going to get to see my new granddaughter April!!
  15. Toni you might have been able to go to a UPS store and asked them to arrange to have the new card sent there. I know that we once had a replacement coffee carafe sent to a UPS store. Might think about it next time it happens. Our card was compromised twice. First time, we were working, and had the new one sent to us there. Second time we were in Tacoma and had the new card sent to our daughters house. We only use one credit card so for us it was important to get it asap.
  16. Ditto everything everyone said. Ed lost his sister last summer so we know how much of a shock it is, even though it might have been expected. Give Delcie our love and a big hug.
  17. Yes it does. We are trying to stay positive.
  18. We have spent the last 3 days getting everything moved into our new apartment. It's different that for sure. How did we ever get all this stuff into the motorhome??? I now have plenty of room in the kitchen. The bathroom has been a challenge because there are no drawers. And we discovered we are going to need some book shelves and lamps. I am really enjoying having a washer and dryer right in the apartment!! Today is another cheer comp here in Richmond so we are planning on attending that. One of the good things about being close to daughter and granddaughter. My son has purchased me a plane ticket to California so I will be spending the week before Easter with them and I will finally get to see my new granddaughter!! So excited!! Stay safe everyone...I have changed our pin on the map....so anyone coming through here....let us know.
  19. Yeah, maybe we should just start using this forum thread.
  20. Just let us know when and we will get together.
  21. Have to catch you next time...we are moving Thursday, We are about 65 miles from Norfolk.
  22. I agree with everything everyone has said. I will try to keep in touch through this site even though I do also do facebook. We are moving into our apartment on Saturday. We have been busy shopping for furniture since we didn't have any. (Although we did take the mattress and the chair from the motorhome) We actually take possession of it on Thursday, furniture will be delivered on Friday. We are renting a truck and with the help of family will move things from storage to apartment Saturday. Lets see how much food I burn since for the past 13 years I have cooked with propane and now everything will be electric!!! Will keep you posted. We plan on being here for about 16 months and then we are looking to move again to Arizona somewhere. We are even thinking about the Laughlin area, since Nevada has no income tax. Lee if you do ever get back to North Carolina, remember we are not far and there is a very nice state park very close to us. I'll even make you spaghetti!!!
  23. We won't be in Virginia for long. The plan is to eventually move west to Arizona or Nevada. Know of any good apartment complexes in Apache Junction???
