  1. I'll add my 2 cents and give Lee a big CONGRATS on the new rig. It's a good thing we are stationery this summer. Ed had his left eye cataract removed and at that time, the doctor said the right wasn't bad enough. Well he went to get new glasses and they just couldn't get it right. There is so much difference in his eyes now that no matter what they did, he was seeing double. So we went back over to the eye doctor to see about getting the other eye done. The surgery is scheduled for July 30!! This doctor is so good he is booked that far in advance!! Although he is off for 2 weeks for vacation. So hopefully by the time we leave here in September, he will have new eyes with new glasses that work!! Still hot and humid here in VA!!
  2. As long as everyone else is complaining about the weather, I will join in too. It has been so hot and HUMID here in Virginia lately that not even the evening thunderstorms cool it off! Our air conditioners are surely getting a good workout.
  3. We will be spending most of our winter in Southern California. Have a new granddaughter coming so I want to spend as much time as I can with son and daughter in law. May try to spend a couple of weeks in Parker.
  4. We had our Journey built according to our specs back in 2002 and then it was delivered to us at the dealer in California where we purchased it. I know you talked about getting something like the View a couple of years ago. I really think you will enjoy it and will be able to travel easier. Hope it works out so you don't have to drive to Iowa. We wouldn't want you to get carried away by one of those pesky tornados up that way!!
  5. Wow...Ed was never told to avoid any bending over. He also is on a routine of eye drops for the next 3 weeks. He went back for his check the next day and everything is good. The only thing he doesn't like is having to wait another 3 weeks for his appointment with the optomitist for new glasses. He only had one eye done. His right eye is okay for now. He will have to get it done sometime, but doctor said the medicare won't pay until it gets worse.
  6. Ed has his cataract surgery yesterday and all went well. We go back this morning for a check up. Bad thing, he can't go to get new classes for a month and everything is still blurry in the eye but now for a different reason!! Enjoy your stay at you nieces IYQ.
  7. Wow now the next time we see everyone, you can all see clearly!! Ed is scheduled to have his left eye cataract removed on the 23 of April. Can't do the laser version since its $1500 more than what medicare pays for, so its the old fashion way for him. Ourpatient, Doctor says it will take about 7 minutes!!! The operation may be free but we had to spend over $200 for the eye drops to use starting 5 days prior and after!!!!!
  8. We have you all beat! Our shortest trip was from one campground to another when we were in Robertsdale, Alabama. Total milage was 12 miles!!!
  9. Get out and walk those hallways. That's what my dad did when they lived in New York after he had his second open heart surgery. His hallways even had a railing he could hold on to. You have come so far and I am so proud of you.
  10. Bet you were glad to get home to Dave. Stay with the plan, you know it works. Are you planning to go back to Structure House again?
  11. Where are you heading next? Did you find somewhere to store the MH? We are slowly getting settled here in Williamsburg. This is a very small campground where its mostly members. We do allow overnighters, but from what I understand, the members stay here most of the time. We have a small site down in one of the areas where a lot of the members have permanent seasonal sites and we had some trouble getting level in the back so they brought us a couple of loads of gravel and that helped. But so far, everyone seems real friendly so I am hoping it works out. Close to daughter so we can spend some time together.
  12. What the heck is with people. We were in Williamsburg, Va yesterday and while waiting for a light to turn left, the guy in front of us starts backing up!!! Doesn't anyone look!!! We couldn't get out of the way fast enough and he hit us. No damage to the car, but our tow bar in front is bent. Ed jumped out and so did the guy. Admitted he never looked in his mirror. So now begins the long process of getting that fixed. Glad we are here for the summer.
  13. I must be blind because I didn't see any difference in the look. Just new names. Just moved our pin. We are in St. Augustine, Florida for the next 5 days. Staying at the Elks. Nice active Elks. $20.00 for water and electric. A little expensive but we are right near old town.
  14. Here's our update. We are still in the Mobile Alabama area. Had our generator serviced last week and found out the burner assembly on our furnace had a split it in, and had that fixed. Tuesday we are getting 6 new tires since we found that the bands have broken on the front right tire. Putting the FMCA Michelin tire program to good use. Camping World (where the service was done) wanted $614 for a tire. FMCA program price is $399. BIG difference!!! The reason I haven't been posting is for some reason my password was lost and I had a HECK of a time getting it changed.
  15. Tried to tell you that the road to the superbowl will have to go through New England!!! Think this may just be their year!! What do you say Sue???
  16. You guys keep thinking that Denver will be in the Super Bowl again. You forget that the road to the super bowl will go through New England again this year!!!
  17. Since we will be working for at least 1/2 a day on Thanksgiving, we are heading to Cracker Barrel this year.
  18. We will probably get to Rainbows End around the 23rd of Dec. Let us know if you are still going to be there.
  19. Well Joe glad you guys all had a fun time yesterday. We are very glad that our ears are RED. Have a fun time today.
  20. We would have had a good view of the moon last night, but darn we had to go to work!! It was about 1/4 covered when we left at 5:30am EST. Maybe on the 23rd we will see it better.
  21. You will really enjoy the CRA resort in Parker. We stay there a lot. Probably will be there right after Q for a least 2 weeks. We will then go over to Acton CA at a Thousand Trail park then back to Parker maybe. A lot depends on when we have to be back in VA to start our Corps of engineer job.
  22. Sounds like its good news for you Lee. Glad to hear it. Has anyone every had any problem with Sinclair Diesel fuel? We filled up with it in Idaho Falls before we went to Wyoming. That's where we were the first time it wouldn't start. That's the only thing that we can find to explain why we were having the starting issues. When we left Rock Springs Wyoming we have not had any problem since. We have had an amazing summer, and got to see almost everything we wanted. Sorry we had to bypass Tom and Dianne, but because of the problems with the windshield, we were in a crunch. We are now back in Campbellsville Kentucky. Even though we will be working, this feels almost like home. We are not moving for 4 months!! Have a great fall everyone and are still hoping to get back to Q in Jan.
  23. We stayed at Thompson Causeway COE park one July and have pictures of our motorhome covered with Mayflies. They were so bad we couldn't enjoy the spot we had...right on the river.
  24. That's where we planned to stay at Devils Tower. Might check out that campground at LBH. Thought we might just boondock at the casino in Crow Agency. Did you see that?
  25. Well we have made it to Cody. When the Cat dealer came to see us this morning, they asked us to start it and darn didn't the thing turn right over and start. It's hard to tell what is wrong when it doesn't act up. Anyway, we got the windshield fixed, and the overheating problem seems to be taken care of. We had no problem going up the hills on the way to Cody. And the new batteries are working good. As far as the starting problem, it seems to be loosing its prime sometimes and the dealer said it could be a check valve. We were going to have them replace it however, to get to it they would have to take the whole bedroom apart, and we would have to stay in a motel because it would take a couple of days. And it was only 50 - 50 that would solve the problem. We had just had enough of Rock Springs, so after they got everything put back together, we took off. We just arrived at Walmart for the night, going into the State Park here tomorrow for a couple of days. Sorry we didn't get to see you Dianne. But since we have reservations in South Dakota on the 11th, we are really short of time to see Cody, Little Big Horn and Devils Tower. Roger sorry about the windshield. Ours took a week to come in to the glass place after he got the okay from insurance. I wanted to pay the $100 deductible but guess the insurance company wanted us to use the diminishing deductible because we didn't pay anything. Would have been $1300 if we had to pay for it!! And that's only 1/2 windshield!!
