For, oh I don't know, the thousandth time maybe? YES! If you are illegally licensed in your domicile state, you can travel anywhere in America legally! What a CONCEPT huh? NOW.....even though our trucks may look like COMMERCIAL vehicles, they are NOT! Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) DOT rules DO NOT APPLY. NOW, if you want your big ol' truck to be a CMV, you are free to do that, but as long as you are licensed as a RECREATIONAL VEHICLE (RV) you are exempt from the CMV rules and regulations. This isn't hard to understand folks!!!! GO RVing, be HAPPY! Don't worry!

Well thank you for clearing that up Thanks again

I don't know all the details of California's emission laws, but I can tell you that we sold our 2001 Volvo to a fellow in California, who wanted it because it was both pre-emissions, and had a motorhome title.

The laws banning pre 2010 commercial trucks are nothing new.  Like so many things on the interweb, someone discovers something and it's a big deal all over again.  How many times have you had someone say, "Did you know that most rv's have the same compartment keys?"

Same  Is compartment Key  ?  That's news to me. Hahaha

  3.  We live  In a little Town that  called Wenatchee . If you look at a map we are in the center  of Washington state. Between  Seattle  and Spokane. The company I got quote from is a new one that bought out Mobil fleet.

  4. So all they quoted me for was to change oil  , Lube chassie all the filters except for the air filter . go from Bumper to Bumper and look for defects it seems to me that $900 is a little high

If you were close I'd invite you to come and visit, and bring your chain-saw. I have a 80' tall dead oak tree that has fallen and must be cut-up small enough I can drag sections out of the field to a ditch. P.S. I'll supply the 2-cycle gas.🤪

As a matter of fact we're running low on firewood

Or. if you're flexible on time (retired) go somewhere during the week.  Less crowded, easier to get reservations, etc.

Going to a state park and staying in a lodge is nice.  Outdoor programs, hikes, or sitting by the fire with friends you didn't know you had.

Went to State Park yesterday and had lunch seem to help a little

Plus, the added benefit of getting some exercise by cleaning snow off your truck and camper.  Be careful...no slip and falls.

Did that yesterday. It just made things worse. We found ourselves sitting in the front seat of the truck looking out the window imagining going somewhere. Right about then the snow slid off the roof the truck and reality set back in. So we locked up the truck and went back in the house.

Now this sounds like a better idea not as cold as the last suggestion Burr

So we tried the planning. I did managed to get our trip to Caldwell, for the West Coast rally. But it didn't seem to help. I think it just made it worse. Good news is that it's been raining here all day and the snow is melting. I can finally see the top of the air conditioner on the roof of the trailer peeking out of the snow I think spring is on its way but could be just a tease anyway any other idea for Cabin Fever?

Shorts check and a tee check. I'll let you know how this works out but for some reason I have a bad feeling about this.

Go outside in shorts and a tee and start clearing off that snow!  In no time at all, you can get warm in the cabin again waiting for it to get warmer outside!

  11. Sitting watching YouTube videos of big rig big travels. And looking outside at our rig buried under 18 inches of snow and piles of snow piled up all around it. Anybody got a cure for Cabin Fever ? It's getting bad around here we've tried moonshine and that don't seem to help any other ideas? Can't wait till spring! Come on spring!

Any change like this would have had a period for public input. It may have even been an election issue. Did you attend? Vote? Make your voice heard?

Nope first I've heard about it and it's on the other side of the country from where I'm at

  13. New law in Macon area starting January 1st. Law does not allow commercial vehicles and trailers over 8,000 to 10,000 pounds to park at home in the area. The the law effects truck drivers RV owners and more. Law also applies to public parking lots such as shopping centers. Hopefully this doesn't gain momentum and spread out West. We've already had Neighbors in the neighborhood complaining about semis Park in their front yards . I hope this don't open up another can of worms but what are your thoughts on this?

  14. Wow did this topic go off the rails or what? Okay guys and gals the point I was trying to make was. Don't be a hack and do crappy work like this. If you can't weld any better than this . Get somebody who can. I'm not trying to say I'm the best welder in the world but I could do this good with my eyes closed. I don't know how anybody can sleep at night knowing they put something like this on the road. Even if it's a piece of farm equipment. Take pride in your work.
