  1. Lots of competition out there, look in the app stores and search on here for apps, Fuel pricing apps, GPS apps, Camp site review apps, boondocking sites, overnight parking, there are even dump station apps. A do everything apps is more than likely not great at anything, thus why myself and a lot of others use apps specialized on one thing. To many apps get created and then go stale. So unless you are dedicated to keeping content up to date I see no value. I typically don't even bother unless the apps has a huge number of users with good reviews and has been around a while.
  2. WordPerfect was the best for professional typists and those with good keyboard skills. Then Ray Noorda at Novell bought it and went to war with Gates and lost. Wysiwyg and a mouse slowly took over as it was easier for the non-power users. I use Office365 and the suite of Office tools including Onenote and OneDrive, but it was what I've used at work for years and I get a discount. Some of the open source stuff is really good. I think it really depends on how much you will use it and how often you need to exchange files with Office users.
  3. I don't rely on full images, they get stale quickly as you install new programs, update programs, update Windows. I do make a full image of a clean Windows install and then an image with the fresh install of my primary apps. However I make sure all my data is backed up to multiple places. You do have to make sure you know where each program is saving data and that you are backing it up. I find that over time the registry gets too much garbage in it. Every 18 to 24 months I completely blow away my system and build it from scratch with new install of windows and each program I still use and then restore data. I know this will sound extreme but has served me well over the years.
  4. I believe some highways in Cali limit length.
  5. RV_, Great plan. Most people don't get serious about backups and copies until they lose data. It is also important to test the backups and verify that the data is there. Many people and companies find out the hard way that their backups are empty.
  6. I just retired from a major, household name, computer manufacture. I just use Windows defender. I also encrypt my drives. I do monthly full backups and daily incremental backups. Monthly backs are also copied to 2nd drive. You're much more likely to lose data to hardware failure or human error. Next would be to fall victim to social engineering or a firmware hack on an iot edge device. I also run a secure gateway doing deep packet inspection and only let known mac addresses connect to my main network and they get assigned IP addresses. A separate guest network is setup for visitors.
  7. You need to click on a station name, for Example: Clicking on " V TA/Petro...." would reveal PDF and Excel files that list every station's pump price and TDS price.
  8. The EFS app is usually correct, I always double check the daily rates at the link DesertMiner posted when I need fuel.
  9. Funny you mention that, Jojoba has the below statement and my thought when reading it was, "are your trying to weed out the Riff-Raff or you want do a hard sell and close." either way I passed. To begin the process, you will need to contact the Resort and arrange a tour with one of our experienced guides. We require the tour in order to provide a comprehensive view of our resort.
  10. Ok, Ok (said in a Joe Pesci voice, from Lethal Weapon) Co-ops, Saguaro and Florida. we also got on a ERPU list for Rainbow Plantation. Plan to visit Rainbow plantation and Florida co-op this winter and AZ next winter. For work we lived in Clearwater FL for about 7 years before moving back to Chicago, Daughters fiancé comes from Mobile and they are probably going to move down there, AZ is a dry heat🤪
  11. Thanks, After reading everything in this thread, studying the websites and using Google earth I did send in the paperwork to put our names on two lists. We will be visiting them next year, I hope.🤪 If I guessed wrong we can always change. If I guessed right we gained a year the lists.
  12. That comes from 30 years of being a business traveler and renting multiple vehicles every month in almost every state and few other counties. I've also rented three different RVs.
  13. Taxes, registration and license plate fees differ in the US by state. So do the rules and regulations. What states are you typically visiting? Also just my personal opinion, I would not buy a rental unit of any vehicle, they are typically rode hard and put away wet.
  14. Thanks again, the thought is to get on a couple of "popular" lists now as a head start. Then as we visit them over the next couple of years we can always change.
  15. thanks to all for the response, plenty to think about. @2gypsies thanks for the detailed response
  16. If you were going to get the waiting lists for two or three parks, which ones would you pick?
  17. Interesting I wonder what is about the shots that they don't want you giving them yourself. My wife has RA and we have been self administering methotrexate shots for a few years. We have used both regular needles and injectors, like an epi pen. Maybe the drug is not available at a pharmacy in single dose shots? hope you find a solution.
  18. Yeah, I'm left handed. Your install plan sounds like great location for the head unit. I use Proclips, I'm a big fan and have used them in all kinds of vehicles over the years. For 2016 they have a bunch of dash mounts, I used one of these in my 2015 with the round vents https://www.proclipusa.com/vehicle/dashboard-mounts/ford-f-350/2016
  19. thanks. Yes, they are very proud of that piece of AL with a cable attached😀 However, being a brand new truck I decided to get it for the ease of install and clean look. Cable runs through same hole as cables for the lights. It goes in above the headliner and then an easy run down the side pillar to the radio.
  20. Just installed this 3rd brake light mount on my new F350 https://cdn3.volusion.com/hbdet.vzsbc/v/vspfiles/photos/90201129_2017-SuperDuty-2T.jpg?v-cache=1568652234 Click For Full-Size Image. Put the transceiver behind the rear seat and head unit on a vent mount. Click For Full-Size Image. Click For Full-Size Image. 73, W4TFB
  21. Because USPS address validation says it's not valid.
  22. It is not a valid postal address and interesting first two posts.
  23. what year, make and model of truck? What add-ons does it have like a rear top? Open the drivers door look for sticker that lists cargo capacity should not exceed and tell us that number.
  24. When looking at or thinking about a specific TT model search for forums for that manufacture ask about know issues or things to check before purchase. The number one thing to inspect for is water damage. fixing water damage is a nightmare. I'm taking about a leak that was not fixed right away. As you inspect a unit look for water stains, soft spots on floors, push on the walls under windows. Read about roof maintenance, this will give a good idea of what to look for when you inspect the roof. If the roof is well maintained then the rest of the rig is very likely well maintained. If the roof is not well maintained then anything else that was out of sight and mind was probably not maintained either. Sounds like a great adventure that your child will cherish. Good luck on your search and ask plenty of questions as you go. Drew
  25. I just bought a new truck in IL, I asked the dealer to fill out some paperwork so I could send it to Florida to get the vehicle registered and plated. They have a third party company that will handle title and registration for out of state purchases. I will not be back in Florida until November. They charged me the lower Florida tax and will get my Florida plates and call me when they are in.
