I am thinking of getting a Banks system installed (air intake and exhaust) but the only install place listed is in california.

I just looked at the Banks website and it says you can get it installed at the manufacturer location, it does not say you must get it installed there.

I know that I have to have the RV inspected in TX. My question is, other than taking the RV to an inspection station (since ours was already moved to the spot where it will stay)

are there any companies that will come to the rv park to inspect?

Technically the state safety inspection must be done at the inspection station, however if you ask around you may find a station that is willing to bend that rule as it is a pretty silly one for a non-motorized RV.

Are you going to move it anymore? sounds from your post you are not. If so no registration needed. Talked to our county and said once on permanent site no yearly registration needed.

This too is true as registration/license plate is only needed if it is going to be on a public roadway.

I wasn’t going to comment but I would bet somewhere in the fine print it says not for continuous living. Most trailers are not built to be used full time, even if the salesman says you can or it says 4 seasons. I know a lot of people do it but that doesn’t mean it’s built for it.

True, however what is described as the issue has nothing to do with the problem which would only have happened if the trailer was in motion. The fix could certainly impact its use and the lifestyle of the OP, but I think the manufacturer would have a hard time denying coverage (if it is still under warranty at all) based as usage as the damage could have occured on a family vacation.

So Ken what is it worth?  I’m possibly going to be looking soon for used 350/450 for second smaller trailer that daughter could drive but would like it to be capable of pulling our DRV 39DBRS3 in a pinch if HDT incapacitated.

For what it is worth, my 2016 F-350 King Ranch, 4x4, FX4 and trailer tow packages is valued by KBB in the Austin area at $38,500 on the high end and $32,390 on the low end. Of course KBB does not account for the Herd HD front bumper or B&W Turnover hitch with Companion 20K fifth wheel. It is all about finding the right buyer at the price you think you want.

  5. From I see online Cruiser has a 3 year structural limited warranty. Now if that extends to the chassis, I don't know but you should break out it out and read it. They also say that warranty claims are processed in 24 hours.

You say you have had some temporary fixes but you do not say that you have contacted the manufacturer. That is something you should do sooner rather than later. Contact them and let us know what they say.

But I fish and hunt A LOT, usually alone, and my wife wants me to be able to call someone if I fall and bust a knee or something.  I haven't bothered to mention that half the places I go I don't have cell reception, but ya do what ya gotta.

You might consider switching to T-Mobile in the not too distant future then as they have teamed with Starlink to create cell phone coverage literally everywhere.

I have an Android, and I can also see what uses up most of my battery.  Location is the big one for me because Google Maps, Compass, and Gas Buddy (among others) are apps that use Location and they are always pinging for updated information.  Bluetooth and wi-fi are also always actively searching for a signal.  I use my phone for making calls and texting, period, both of which I may have used 5 times total in the past month...mostly texts because I very seldom make or receive calls.

When I first got this phone in 2020, I uninstalled or disabled the majority of the apps that came with it, and I have downloaded no others.  I think I've used it maybe a dozen times to access the internet, and that was to check the weather.

As you said, you're entitled to use whatever apps you need.  I need almost none.

This conversation piqued my interest so I checked my phone. Below are the apps that impact the battery the most and anything not listed uses 0.1% or less. Of the listed apps Chrome, AccuWeather and Google Play Services (not to be confused with Pay Store) used location and Chrome only used location when actively using the app. Google Play Services provides location for things like 911 and Emergency notifications as well as providing support to any other app requiring location services. Overall then I would say that location services have a very low impact on my battery. I too keep WiFi and Bluetooth enabled for convenience. Bluetooth connects to both cars when I am out and WiFi lets me use my phone even when deep inside a store when normally you would lose cell signal. Now, when I am waiting in the car for my wife or waiting in a doctors office lobby I will use the Kindle app which does use a lot of battery as it is keeping the screen on constantly.

    Gmail 1.5%

    Chrome 1.0%

    One UI Home 0.7%

    Always on Display 0.7%

    AccuWeather 0.5%

    Google Play Services 0.3%

Tulecreeper, you strike me as someone that would get along fine on an old non-smart flip phone. 😀

Elon Musk doesn't have to ask before acting, like GM and Ford must do with their BOD.

That is not entirely true. The SEC forced him out of his position as Chairman of the Board because of Tweets he made on potential actions. He does remain CEO and while the Board generally backs him, he does answer to a Board that answers ultimately to the stockholders.

The article said in the first para that they were number two not even close to Tesla sales figures.

And I did not say it exceeded Tesla sales. I just said it was not surprising it carried the sales numbers it did due to price. Not every comment made about EVs is anti-Tesla. Although, my son-in-law says that if he were to spend the money it would cost him for a Tesla S or X he would buy a BMW iX for the better fit and finish. I don't have the money to consider either so I just nod my head knowing that his research and reasoning are sound.

Guys, I was and am posting about how to post pics here on the SKP's forums. For that you need it hosted. You can use a FaceBook pic here following my steps but that will expire. Then we see empty pic frames with the broken link icon.

    I

I was talking about FB too as FB uses an algorithm that highly compresses photos posted there and the method I posted most generally works. I do admit that it will not work every time and therefore. yes, you will need an external link and your method.

You used a Facebook picture and the URL has expired so no one can see it. You need a hosting site like I use that is free.

No, I copied a picture from a US Navy Chief Petty Officer site I belong to, but the result is the same.

The easiest way I have found to use a picture from Facebook to this forum is to first right click the pic, then choose Save image as ... which will save it to your computer at the location and with the name you choose. To get it here, enter the text you want in a post and then use the choose files... you see below. This way the pic ends up in your post with no external links needed.

Personally, it seems like an April Fools gag that leaked early

It is real. I went to the US Patent office and found it there. It is a 13 page PDF file if you want to download it.

  14. GM files for patent is the link for the info at the GM site.

I actually am very intrigued with this idea. There are 2 wheel devices that let you tow a fifth wheel as a conventional trailer but they do not offer any power assist capabilities and the ability to park a fiver by controlling a device while standing there may be the very best part of it IMO.

  15. What we have found that works well for us, aside from lots of water, is a combo. We use 1/4 cup Dawn (the cheapest), 1/4 cup Borax and 1 pod of a product called Green Gobbler. The pods are the most expensive at about $1.30 per pod and adding the cost of the rest I am going to guess about $1.60 per flush or about every 10 days.
